Korngold impacted me as a young man. I have now gone through life with a Korngold score playing in my head for so many events I've gone through. (It could be worse.)
I'm pretty sure everyone watching this video already knows about that. And how it's also similar to parts of his superman score. And so many other similarities too...
@spacepatrolman No. Randy Newman. He worked in the Toy Story films, Monsters, Inc., James and the Giant Peach, The Princess and the Frog. -- I wanna know if he worked on more films than those.
If it wasn't for this man and his work, John Williams would be a music theory 101 teacher somewhere in Iowa.
Fact.
+maxcohen13 Good point.
+maxcohen13 No, I definitely wouldn't go that far...

Great story. When I first got to Rome as a student I had Alex North's score for "Shoes of the Fisherman" in my head.
His music will live forever...it is absolutely beautiful. I especially loved the score for the film, Escape Me Never. I will never forget it, ever.
Great great composer. How his music influenced John Williams is clear. And how Stravinsky influenced his... as well, very clear.
Now I know where the Star Wars theme come from - Kings Row from Korngold :-)
...and listen 8:26 E.T???
I can see where John Williams got his extreme use of brass and heroic themes. He was heavily influenced by Richard Strauss. :)
Same thought...
This is one of the Hollywood greats of the40’s film scores. Erich Korngold also composed brilliant classical compositions
I love his music. Thanks for posting.
Bravo !!!! Congratulations !!!!
The Adventures of Robin Hood is a movie I watch several times a year, mainly for Korngold's score. Errol Flynn is a close 2nd, by a whisper.
Korngold wrote film music like Puccini wrote opera. He is an inspiration to us all
Kings Row 1942. Star Wars 1975. Notice any similarity?

+5micky2 and Superman 1977.
+5micky2 You mean Star Wars 1977. Yes, the similarity is well-known - see the Star Wars wikipedia article.
+Carlos Gallegos Superman 1978?
+5micky2 Yes, yes... :D
I count 14 tracks, yet in the Music drop-down box , it only shows only 6 tracks. Where are the others?.
Every one a gem/
Nice compilation, although you left out “Between Two Worlds.”

😂😂Ohne Ton!!!
@spacepatrolman Oh, REALLY? I didn't know that! Thanks for the info!
Isn't there a Randy Newman collection?
This’s Eric Korngold. Randy wasn’t born yet
Star wars opening!
I want to hear his music on my death bed as my last request as I go into heaven....
My goodness. John Williams basically plagiarized King's Row, didn't he?
