❤ loved the idea of the title of this podcast which is exactly the title of Cesare Beccaria ' s masterpiece "Of crimes and punishements".
Three things must be considered basic for a justice system in my humble opinion:
1 the State can only be the administrator of justice. No crime can be persecuted by the victim, whatever the gravity could be
2 certainty and proportion of punishment
3 Always consider the criminal a person who, after having paid his due for what he committed, comes back into society where he must find a way to reintegrate and not to commit a crime anymore.
Thanks a lot from Gianluca in the outskirts of Milan ( where obviously one of the city prison for young criminals, whose aim is to yield to change their attitudine towards behaviour in life, is called " Cesare Beccaria"
