‘Increasingly worthless’: One in four university students given high distinctions

Sky News host James Macpherson says university degrees are becoming “increasingly worthless”.
His remarks come after a study of Australian universities revealed one in four students are being given a high distinction.
“That’s a 234 per cent increase in the number of high distinctions over the last decade,” he said.
“They’re calling it grade inflation.
“It’s making uni degrees increasingly worthless, because if everyone’s getting a high distinction how do you know who the top performing students really are?”

I don’t know about Australia but I figured out in the nineties in America that I would get higher marks if I spat out on my page what the professor said. I saw students who challenged the professor in their papers get marked down and told that they didn’t understand or they were wrong.
