I know it looks and feels stupid, but the situation is different. Hungary and Turkey were both admitted when they did meet the full NATO requirements, but they both allowed pseudo dictators to be admitted later down the road.
From what I understand, a country currently at war can not join NATO, they have to wait until the war ends. This is part of the reason Putin is dragging the war on as long as he is. Putin does not want NATO in Ukraine, he claims he made that clear with the Budapest memorandum (and it is never mentioned in that agreement). Putin claims he only agreed to allow Ukraine to become its own state if it does not join NATO. Ukraine began talks to join NATO, and was about to have their first meeting to make it happen. This is when Putin struck Ukraine. Putin knows the rules of joining NATO as well, and knows that throwing Ukraine into war would prevent them from being able to join NATO.
I 110% agree with President Zelenskyy, as I've been saying the *_EXACT same thing_* since the third month of this whole mess. I support either move; preferably integration into NATO though, as that benefits *_everyone_* greatly.
Yeah it would stop this war fast as Moscow would be an easy target. Russia would stand to loose far more than Ukraine would in war then. It would shift things a lot.
They don’t need hundreds. Enough a dozen or two. Most hard is delivery, not the nuke. Ukraine has its own cruise and ballistic missiles and Moscow is only 400 miles away. Pretty good deterrence
they have all the know-how, more than russians: until 2014, Ukrainian enginners maintained the big Sarmat I. (SS18) missiles, the biggest russian stuff, based on a 2006 contract. those missiles were made in the USSR, precisely in Ukraine of that time, in Dnipro. so Ukraine knows very well how to build nukes. they have brand new ballistic missiles, announced 2 weeks ago. Enforcer Matt says zelensky has given an ultimatum... no! He just stated the real situation for long lasting peace... thats it. Don't like the truth... bad luck! .... :)
I think Zelensky is right in that either NATO membership or becoming nuclear are the logical alternatives to future security. Russia would never have started a war against Ukraine if it were a nuclear power. Russia would have learned to live with a neighbour pursuing its own future agenda, like is the case worldwide for most neighbouring countries. Ukraine did give up its nuclear weapons from the USSR era because of pledges from the US, UK and Russia to safeguard Ukraine's security. If the US in future wants to go isolationist, then other countries are going to have to consider that nuclear power for themselves would be an alternative to the US nuclear umbrella, which the US might not in future commit to. Russia is still imperialist in mindset, European countries will need to protect themselves as best they can.
It's not hilarious, it's typical Russian propaganda, stolen from the nazi playbook, accuse the enemy of what you're doing and plan on doing. It's not funny, because a lot of people in the West are accepting their bullshit as fact and repeating it.

I don't think it was a direct threat at all. When I first watched the NATO Press Conference, it seemed clear that he said they have 2 choices, re-becoming a nuclear power OR becoming a NATO member but that they REJECT the nuclear option and "we choose NATO." He knows Ukraine is not qualified to join NATO at this time but may be in the future. He is signaling his intent in hopes that NATO countries will continue to support, and hopefully increase with financial and military equipent assistance, which is under threat politically at this time. He is laying out the reality of Ukraine's situation without a DIRECT threat, although the prospect of desperation was laid out. Maybe his statement was easily distorted as a direct threat, esp by Putin who loves to spin reality, rather than what it was, a clear statement of the reality. Listen to him about Ukraine's need for unwavering and increased assistance, for all our safety. LSA strong! 💪
Zelensky is 100% right to say Ukraine should never had listened to NATO and disarmed its nukes. Putin would have never have invaded a nuclear armed Ukraine -Since NATO has not protected Ukraine's borders Now is the time Ukraine has strong case to re-arm itself with nukes and is more than capable to do so since most of the USSR nuclear scientists and engineers are Ukrainian -
He's absolutely right. I've been saying this for a year. Putin clearly only understand nuclear deterrence, and he violated the agreement. Why shouldnt Ukraine get their nuclear weapons back??
I didn't not get that from that speech, but rather,"we gave up the atomic weapons in exchange for international protection, but we didn't get that protection, so please help us, the defence we gave away can be replaced with NATO".
I don't know how anyone could have taken that as a threat. All he's pointing out is that they gave up their nukes only because they were promised security. So now NATO owes Ukraine membership because they didn't provide security to Ukraine.
The message Zelenski sent was simple, the biggest mistake they've made was believing that U.S, Russia or U.K would protect them if needed. Every country feeling threatened should seriously consider aquire nukes, and don't fall for empty promises. You better safe than sorry. Ukraine WAS a nuclear power. it held most of the Soviet Union's nukes originally. Russia felt threatened for sure then. Ukraine should have kept some nukes and given up the rest. if they even had kept a dozen it would most likely prevented the invasion of Ukraine. So now with the documents NOT being honored. it makes the agreement VOID by common sense. so Ukraine should develop or the US should give them nukes covertly or develop some that Ukraine could claim that THEY developed . doing it that way, The US has deniability and yet helps protect Ukraine's right to exist. True it would intensify the war, but I think this would be short-lived as Putin would then have cause to make peace or be nuked by Ukraine .. and Russia knows that if they nuke Ukraine (even though they are not NATO) that NATO would be on Russia's ass in a heartbeat which Putin would definitely not desire. the US may act passively but when you piss us off. ... OMG your ass is grass. Al Qaeda learned that real quick. as has other enemies whom we have fought have learned. Yamamoto knew that by the poor timing of announcing war causing the Japanese attack on the US in WWII. that they had pissed off a sleeping giant. I don't think the US is sleeping right now. i think they have most things in place. as they are increasing production significantly for the war machine. they want our populace to remain calm so when Russia crosses the right threshold or final line. that US can rally the people in a similar fashion to 9-11
If Ukraine had the 1800 nukes .. Russia would back off and Iran would shut their mouths as well. Reason... that Ukraine would use them not out of malice but out of necessity. when an enemy KNOWS you will react in such a way. they chill out or keep their tongue. it forces diplomacy or else war which would threaten the other country's very existence.

I totally support Zelensky's comments concerning Ukraine and nukes. Putin can threaten all he wants, it's not like he can do anything more against Ukraine that he's not already doing and if the comments scare some Western NATO members, so be it, it's time they stop letting Putin's threats dictate what they do or do not do.
Just how can Putin escalate the war further? He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. To escalate further he needs to mobilize. If he mobilizes, he risks huge societal unrest.
I think the point here is that both Russia and the US signed the Budapest Memorandum as guarantors and agreed to 1. not invade Ukraine and 2. Aid Ukraine it defending itself if it were invaded in exchange for returning the nuclear weapons they had in their possession to Russia. The reality of the situation is that neither Russia nor the US have held up their ends of that agreement and if Ukraine had never agreed to that then this war would not be happening.
Observing how ukraine innovates with drones, if they do go nuclear , I imagine a low cost, low yield high volume solution, developing at least hundreds of units if not more.
He is saying that nobody honored the agreement except Ukraine. It is time for participants to honor the agreement. In any case there is nothing to stop Putin from escalating, with or without this obvious statement.
The issue is... he is not wrong about it. This war would not have happened if ukraine had had even a handful of nukes left. No need to even use them, just have them.
this war would not have happened if the president of the united states has said ,, when aske what if Putin invades ukr ,, he had said, well then russia gets 4500 nukes the bad way ,one for every taken from Ukr and russia did promise to protect ukr ,, but back in 2014 when obummer was preisdent , was the time the us became traitors to the free world
Nothing about this has been fair from the start. The USA, UK and EU should have stepped up in 2014, not doing that, they should have stepped up in 2022. It's 2024 and Russia has formed the axis of evil, with full support from North-Korea and Iran, while China supports them massively but lies about it, like every dictatorship does. It is frustration coming out from Zelensky and I can understand his frustration. They had nuclear weapons granted they were under their control of the Soviet Union at the time, but they willingly gave up those nuclear weapons because they were asked to buy the west but on that condition, they were also guaranteed protection, even though we are giving them weapons and military support of doing it with one of his hands tied behind his back we give him everything they need to finish this war and push Russia out permanently or let him have

Hungary is a joke of a NATO member. IMHO Hungary won't assist anyone if article 5 is enacted will be dead weight.
I know it looks and feels stupid, but the situation is different. Hungary and Turkey were both admitted when they did meet the full NATO requirements, but they both allowed pseudo dictators to be admitted later down the road.
And if Turkey can be part of NATO then why not Ukraine 🇺🇦. No NATO country is lacking some corruption!
Slovakia is also more corrupt than Ukraine, and has a Russian puppet in charge like Hungary.
I 110% agree with President Zelenskyy, as I've been saying the *_EXACT same thing_* since the third month of this whole mess.
I support either move; preferably integration into NATO though, as that benefits *_everyone_* greatly.
Ukraine....a nuclear power...I may not know much about this subject....but I'm down to pitch in on funding
Why don't they get one of Israel? I mean Zelenskyy does have an Israeli passport after all.
"only" have to build the load to put in. and end putin.
@@tamasgyorffy1 not Sarmat, but Satan. Old soviet icbm. Sarmat s what Russians came up as a replacement of Satan, as it cannot be maintained, motors are Ukrainian made. Sarmat did 5 tests, 4 failed. Ukraine belongs to the US. This war has always been about depopulation of Ukraine so trans national corporations can go in and get all the resources. Zelensky is an actor and an ethnic Russian. The majority of the money from the west is being imbezzuled by the MIC. Ukraine is not a democracy, it is only a puppet of the western powers and it's almost time for them to cut the strings.

The fact that anyone would think that Ukraine is both “losing the war” and also an existential full scale invasion threat to Russia is hilarious.
I mean they aren't losing the war right now but they certainly aren't winning it either.
It's not hilarious, it's typical Russian propaganda, stolen from the nazi playbook, accuse the enemy of what you're doing and plan on doing.
It's not funny, because a lot of people in the West are accepting their bullshit as fact and repeating it.
Seems like a bit of a stalemate. They have fewer resources but are losing them at about 1/3 the rate Russia is. Russia can also go into economic collapse or civil war at any point.
Ukraine is NOT losing the war. Russia is and that's why Vladimir Chukchi Putin took his beggar bowl to Chubby Kim and did his Oliver Twist impression. "Please Sir. Can I have some more cannon fodder".😂😂😂
Belarus is a nuclear state, why not ukraine.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Ukraine has several nukes secretly under construction now. It would be hard to blame them. 🇺🇸🇺🇦
i have several Molotov cocktails in my house,, most do,, a bottle some fabric and some flammable fluid,, ,,its not ssembled, and it is pure coincidence that i have it ,,like most that have all parts at home,, but still it put me in a situation where i can assemble one,,, ukr might have all parts ,, for a nuke ,, but that would be some specialized parts there ;o)
@@cmtwgrdk2748 Conventional explosive device, with a high grade nuclear waste payload gives you a nuclear molotov.
LSA strong! 💪
... In my opinion it was very wise because it puts pressure on US.
Zelensky is 100% right to say Ukraine should never had listened to NATO and disarmed its nukes. Putin would have never have invaded a nuclear armed Ukraine -Since NATO has not protected Ukraine's borders Now is the time Ukraine has strong case to re-arm itself with nukes and is more than capable to do so since most of the USSR nuclear scientists and engineers are Ukrainian -
Ukraine has reactors and would be fully capable of developing nuclear weapons.
Zelenskyy is correct. With Putin breaking the Budapest Memorandum the U.S. should have gotten directly involved day 1 with full military engagement.
I am happy that zel is finally talking about it. He shouldn't take those words back either.
The message Zelenski sent was simple, the biggest mistake they've made was believing that U.S, Russia or U.K would protect them if needed. Every country feeling threatened should seriously consider aquire nukes, and don't fall for empty promises. You better safe than sorry. Even nato can't be trusted we already see examples of drones hitting Poland and Romania and nato just act like nothing happen, sad but is true. Thanks for another good informative video enforcer. 👍
NATO has to seriously think about adding Ukraine in it's alliance why should they hesitate NATO has already committed to Ukraine!
But yet Putin is ok with Iran having nukes, funny how that works

Can Iran be nuclear power?
@@TapiKoks I agree with you that Iran should be stopped BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY
I don't think the US is sleeping right now. i think they have most things in place. as they are increasing production significantly for the war machine. they want our populace to remain calm so when Russia crosses the right threshold or final line. that US can rally the people in a similar fashion to 9-11
@@TapiKoks Iran is run by a religious dictator who has swore destruction upon neighboring nations. So no.
If you’re not a nuclear power you can be invaded. All of the nuclear power countries are fighting over the countries that arnt.
Ukraine was basically swindled out of their nuclear weapons, so if they want them back. Why not?
Ukraine is owed 1800 nukes...
If Ukraine had the 1800 nukes .. Russia would back off and Iran would shut their mouths as well. Reason... that Ukraine would use them not out of malice but out of necessity. when an enemy KNOWS you will react in such a way. they chill out or keep their tongue. it forces diplomacy or else war which would threaten the other country's very existence.
from 🇨🇦 Thank you @EnforcerMatt for another war short update. I think Zelensky is still keeping his people in mind, saying what he said. He is getting exasperated in all the RED TAPE. It's unfair that NK can have boots on the ground in Ukraine 🇺🇦.

If Turkey is in, why not Ukraine?
I totally support Zelensky's comments concerning Ukraine and nukes. Putin can threaten all he wants, it's not like he can do anything more against Ukraine that he's not already doing and if the comments scare some Western NATO members, so be it, it's time they stop letting Putin's threats dictate what they do or do not do.
Air defense systems have never been so crucial around the world
IMO, now that Russia brought NK into the war, Ukraine has the right to pick a neighbouring country to join in as well.
Poland: *heavy breathing*
SK is apparently sending weapons to UKR through Poland
He has a point, The USA failed to honour Ukraines defence. So either nukes or NATO. Simples.
Just how can Putin escalate the war further? He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. To escalate further he needs to mobilize. If he mobilizes, he risks huge societal unrest.
Thanks Matt!
Xi just signed a pact with putin,he'll support putin in Ukraine but putin has to support xi on Taiwan.
100% agree with Zelenskyy we took there safe guard and now we’re pussy footing on our end of the bargain
12,000.... That's 12 days of battle losses...!
He is saying that nobody honored the agreement except Ukraine. It is time for participants to honor the agreement. In any case there is nothing to stop Putin from escalating, with or without this obvious statement.
I think zelenskys comments are being misunderstood. I got his point on the first listen.
The issue is... he is not wrong about it.
This war would not have happened if ukraine had had even a handful of nukes left. No need to even use them, just have them.
this war would not have happened if the president of the united states has said ,, when aske what if Putin invades ukr ,, he had said, well then russia gets 4500 nukes the bad way ,one for every taken from Ukr and russia did promise to protect ukr ,, but back in 2014 when obummer was preisdent , was the time the us became traitors to the free world
yea, but considering the government before zelenski was 110% pro russia and opposed the west they laid a foundation for the scenario we have now
Would the ussr just have let Ukraine have them without some kinda agreement or them going to war
🇺🇸🇺🇦🇰🇷
Edit: (USA, Ukraine, South Korea Flag Emoji')
If NK is sending troops, seems only fair for the western world to match their troop deployment, with their own western troops, in Ukraine as well.
It's WWIII and it's Ukraine with not even half hearted support from those that are the target, being the entire West.

Good evening. Don’t for get, Ukraine, at one time at one time was the third largest nuclear power, before they gave it all back to Russia.
Unfortunately, Ukraine should have insisted on NATO membership in exchange for giving up its nukes.

It would take Ukraine, maybe two weeks. To build nukes! Ukraine was the third largest nuclear power in 1991. Gave them up. With guarantees. Of territorial integrity. All signed on paper. Reminds me of McMillan. Waving a piece of paper. After the Munich summit. Giving away Czechoslovakia , we now have peace in our time. .

I did not interpret Zalinsky's comments as an ultimatum, he said at the end, that Ukraine chooses Nato, NOT nuclear weapons. why does NATO and the UN allow North Norea to send troops. N Korea has nuclear weapons, etc ??? But frowns on Ukraine or other countries to send troops for their aid?????
Nato is an outdated defensive alignment that only benefits countries that are members of Nato, and the Un is absolutely useless as long as Russian is a permanent member with veto power. The Uk France The US Russia and China are technically the only countries that have the ability to vote so even if China voted on a punishment for Russia it'll be 4 to 1 making the Un powerless because Russia wouldn't vote against itself.
