@@mhoppy6639 I use audio descriptions when they are available. Sometimes I get annoyed a bit when the narration is talking right over the music, describing something I don't care about, but that is entirely subjective. The audio description adds a lot to my movie experience, much more than it detracts. The funny thing is that my wife, who can see perfectly well, also prefers to have audio description on because it points out important bits of the scene that might be lost to subtlety otherwise.
One thing that does bother me is that some movies, that had audio descriptions at the theater, are released to home video, Disney Plus and Netflix without audio description. What's with that? The work has already been done. Just include it.

@@surferdude4487 that’s interesting. When I tried them I also found that the best ones are really complementary but the weaker ones just annoy those who are sitting with you or worse they annoy you.
I didn’t know about “scrubbing” of the theatre releases. I wonder if there’s a copyright issue or some technical thing going on.
I might drop a line to one or two CEOs to see if I can get answers. I’m always pleasantly surprised what good service you can sometimes obtain if you write to the ceo/cfo or similar using their direct email (which is usually available online somewhe

Tell me you've listened to some of the old radio shows? Many of them hold up very well. I'm a fan of both Gunsmoke and Fibber McGee & Molly. Several others of course but those are my top two recommendations. Great voice actors and sound effects.

I still have mine too! Listened each week and recorded the episodes - including the different into/outro narration and the missing dialogue that somehow was edited out when officially released in the 90s. Glad to know someone else was as nerdy about this as me! Fans unfamiliar with these radio shows are missing out big time.

The Preacher in _Children of Dune)._

I was introduced to Star Wars properly in 4th grade. My teacher put a novel of The Empire Strikes Back in front of me, as I finished my work earlier than everyone else. I started reading, and was interested. I found this on cassette tape at a local video store, and rented it. This sounds just like I remember.

I love the heart-warming stories and memories everyone is posting pertinent to the radio drama series. I’m a millennial, born in 91’ and my dad introduced myself and my siblings to the Star Wars universe when we were young kids. I grew up watching the original trilogy over and over, on VHS tapes. Later on in the early 2000’s dad got us the radio drama on cassette tape for our Sony radio/cassette player in our room. We had A New Hope and Return of the Jedi but never got a hold of Empire radio drama. I’m filling in the last piece of my childhood right now. After listing to these damn near every night, dad would turn on Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell, or at least the re-runs of Art Bell. I forget when George Snory took over 😂. Those were the days man! As a kid, obviously I wasn’t paying much attention geo-politically as I am now, but looking back the 90’s and early 2000s (minus The War in Terror…) just seemed so stable compared to now. Probably just rose-colored glasses on my part, but hey, Original Trilogy, Art Bell, Pokémon… That’s all a kid needed back then. Then smart phones and social media ruined reality permanently 🤮

This is great ! I did something like this about 15 years ago with the tape cassette version of the radio drama and a vhs camcorder pointed at various comics and artwork . I appreciate the time it takes to make something like this . I got as far as the start of the battle of hoth but never finished my project . Would love to see you do a redux of these . Small bit of constructive criticism ...some of the images on here are on screen for too long , would love to see more cuts inserted for when each character speaks . There is no shortage of artwork available online to do this . I love how you integrated the Topps trading cards into this . Would also love to see all of Ralph McQuarrie's production paintings used in this . A couple of years back , artist Chris Sprouse did a series of covers across the marvel comics line that depicted various scenes from The Empire Strikes Back that would work very well here too .

I'm sorry, but the guy voicing Han is not very good. He comes off like an edgy theater kid who wants to be the "cool guy".
All I find him is obnoxious!

And why does the medical droid (2-1-B) sound like a freakin sedated pedophile?!?!

I loathe Darth Vader’s voice. He sounds more like a dramatic theatre kid than a cold, calculating psychopath.

This is a radio drama. Imo the voice is perfect for this kind of format. I understand what you mean about the voice but the voice performance for this format works better in a radio drama. Perhaps if James Earl Jones had voiced Vader for this radio drama you may have gotten what you wanted. Anyway I like the voice over for Vader here.
