For anyone attempting this, if you spray a light coat of the red over the yellow inside the housing, it will make the correct orange color, which the startecs came with.

Im not in the budget of being lazy and paying someone for doing the work. Besides many early tails are plenty to be had. And most of them have cracking lenses. Every about my car has been me. Since it was stock. The only thing im not entirely comfortable is tuning once i get ms2 and a 20g. Already prepped it last year with head studs. But tuning ms2 seems pretty intuitive.

Tuning I would 100% pay for cuz that’s when experience and knowledge comes into play but yeah apparently there is ppl willing to 400$ for someone else to spray paint their lights and Those ppl are ballers, low key jealous of them :/
Where did you find only the transparent glass? Respect for your work dude, they're beautiful, I have real startec, but I would love to make another like you
Never seen these before. Looks more interesting than the stock look. Just have a couple hopefully constructive additions. The new covers look very wavy. Could sand and buff for a very nice flat smooth look comparable to original. Also, was hoping to see installed and lit up! Still looks good! Nice work!
also, with the krylon and vht nightshades, its best u use a blowdrier/heatgun when painting. i have some lights that been sprayed for 8 years havent faded or cracked at all. the headlights i did without the heatgun faded after like 8 months had to redo em.

in principle you shouldnt have to use clear coat paint on the lenses. You could have painted with matte red/orange and have better color setup for the taillights :)

“Now I’ll show splitting the tail lights.” Fast forwards 10 seconds, flat head screw driver on the center of the light and pieces everywhere lmao

Instead of braking the lens you could have baked them to soften the butyl sealant and pulled it off in one piece.

Dont paint the indicators yellow - just use an orange bulb instead. Then they will be red and clear like on e46 msports.
