  • Here is PART II of this Panzer 38(t) build series. This episode looks at the techniques used to paint and visually detail my Tamiya 1/35th Panzer 38(t). In the previous video I looked at simple ways to build and improve your model. But the painting is always where the magic starts to happen and the part of the modelling process that brings me the most joy. Some of the featured techniques will require some experience to mirror, however there are others that would be accessible to modellers of just about any skill level.
    PART III will be available around 2 weeks after the premiere of this video and will focus on the weathering techniques used to make the model look battle hardened. Be sure to check it out.
    This model is the subject of a group build with the Totally Tanked podcast, so hopefully the tips in this video help anyone participating in the build, and of course any one interested in scale modelling in general.

    something less stressful than the super thin post shading mix is the ammo shaders, same effect and can be washed away with water. Both methods work great! also amazing looking model :)

    Great job. I built this kit when it first came out. I laughed because I also, on occasion, use a vinyl cutter to make my own markings. I am going to send you to a friend of mine. He lives in OZ and suggested that I do a TH-cam on my builds. It is not for me. He is not a builder yet. Now, I need to find your FB page, and I will follow you on that as well.

    Of you want. Tru mixing flesh as a light color. It adds a ton of depth . i handlebars more of the blue cool side. You did a great job on this just tossing out a mix that might surprise you.

      Thanks Will. Love your suggestion. I often use deck tan or buff on other colours…never on the grey. 🤷🏻 I’m currently looking at the IBG Panzer II ausf b…so perhaps I’ll give it a try on that one. Really appreciate your comments. Thanks for watching 🙏

    Inkscape will do the same thing as Illustrator but is free and has add-ons that will interface directly to a vinyl cutter.

    Nice work. What are the must have weathering paints, that the beginner should purchase to start out.

    • @workbenchhobbies4316
      @workbenchhobbies4316  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Kane. That’s a really broad question. What I’ve done in this video I wouldn’t really call weathering. For me this is just the paint phase. The real weathering will be in the next episode. Was there a part of that video you were asking about specifically? More than happy to point you in the right direction 💪

    • @kanelambkin1545

      @@workbenchhobbies4316 ive been on hobby shop web sites to buy paints and i find it daunting, ok the model instructions will say what colours to get, but when you get to weathering paint the list seems endless.

    • @workbenchhobbies4316
      @workbenchhobbies4316  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kanelambkin1545 - OK.. lets start with what paint you are painting the model with? What are you using for your base colours ? That will help to determine the most suitable weathering products to layer on top. Im thinking this could be a good video once we worth through this one!

      He's wrong. It was dark when new but not after being in service for a while. Dirt, sun damage etc took their toll. You did a great job. Aloha from Hawaii.

      Not after being in service for a while. Look at photos. Maybe brand new but weathering is the whole point of modeling to make the afvs look real.
