    After a decade of very little paragliding due to work and my global motorcycling adventures (www.bigbiketrip.net) I am flying again and found everything moved on from when I did over 500 hours a year in early mid 90s. People are flying XCountry in Hong Kong on amazing wings I dont recognise, using harnesses that look like canoe harnesses and using flying kit like XCtracer and various GPS and map apps. I remember Jocky from years back and will now study all his videos to get back up to speed. Together with being stuck in Hong Kong I hope flying practice and studying from experts like Jocky on TH-cam will help.

    I am a skydiver and paramotor pilot. I have very little experience with paraglider in thermals, and no experience flying in mountain conditions. This video was absolutely fascinating. Your explanations and glider track against the Google Earth map made everything much easier to understand. Thank you for making this video.

    i learned more about hill thermals in this one video then probably watching 50 other videos. Thermals are location specific and you need to keep your bank angle even to maximize them. Thank you sir Jocky!

    Thanks for the educational videos. I'm a hang glider pilot so I appreciate all the thermaling videos. I live in FL so that's all we have unless we're lucky enough to have a convergence from the Atlantic and Gulf Coast breezes.

    Hi Jocky, when you say “Tighten on the stronger lift”, is that on each rotation or generally in punchier thermals? I think I may have got my timing in thermals out of sync? Lovely video by the way. Thanks

    • @JockySandersonparagliding
      @JockySandersonparagliding  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you tighten to stay o the stronger lift, cores, which can often be smaller than the overall lift. if the lift is constant and wide then you don't have to do tight lift.
