They are just appliances. My favorite pool robot is from 45 years ago when I was growing up. My family had a swimming pool and we had a Polaris Vac Sweep. It is powered by water pressure via a hose attached to a dedicated water jet in the pool, and it could climb all the way up the walls, cleaning everything. No electronics, purely hydro-mechanical, safe to swim with, and it is still being sold today.
As you mentioned, a lot of people (like me) don't have the money for such a robot, but I still like watching your reviews of new devices, tools or places. Thank you Naomi.
Much of what she reviews isn't accessible to us outside of China, but the reviews are very well done regardless, and enjoyable to watch (for a few different reasons, lol).
This is what I love about your reviews, you give both pros and cons with proof. When you find an issue you explain very well and give a way the company could improve it. So great job again Naomi.

It's cute and I like that it has no gimmicky _smart_ functions, but I still think a suction style pool cleaner tethered to the filter would be better performing, they are about the same price.

Ooh smart that it goes to the edge at low battery, that will save a lot of time for people that get it. Also I totally agree on the app/ register thing, if I buy something I want it to work then and there.
Growing up with a pool in the 70's/80's we used a device known as a "Kreepy Krauly" which only had a single moving part and didn't require batteries or any electrical power. Sometimes technology just seems to make things more complicated.
That pool was already pretty clean to start with. It would be nice to see how the robot handles a pool floor that's a bit more slippery... But all in all it looks like a nice product for pool owners.
This robot, with some modifications, could be used to clean tanks to store water, although I don't know if it fulfills that function. A robot that will clean water tanks would be useful to me.
the cleaning footage that was speeded up the only movement you see when you slow it down is going back and forth at the bottom and at the end it's sent to the front of the pool lol

Great to see a new Wu video! It was fun to watch you test the automated pool cleaner. I am not likely to need a pool cleaner due to no pool but seeing you demonstrate its use was enjoyable. I was trying to figure out the thigh high stockings but realized they probably helped you keep a little bit warmer, acting like a bit of a wet suit for your legs. Plus they looked cute! It was nice to see the design that used the suction to also drive the device. I like designs that accomplish two things with one part. If I ever make it big and get a place with a pool I will definitely consider this device and have fond memories of the cute lady who demonstrated it.
This reminds me of Netflix season one of Love, Death, and Robots, episode 14, Zima Blue. An humanoid AI robot artist reverts back into being a pool cleaning robot.
Great review. I really love that you reviewed tech from my industry. I work on the Polaris version of robot pool cleaners every day here in Texas. If your viewers are thinking of a robot… a warning… Check the manual. I repair them because you can not put them in colder than 10 c. Water will leak in to the motor in colder temps.

There are even automatic pool cleaners that work just with the pool pump. Many of them developed in th 70s and 80s in South Africa. I have seen one in operation year after year after year in a pool there and it worked flawlessly. No need for electronics for me....
I've been working for a call center for a swimming pool manufacturer, if you can afford a swimming pool, you can afford a cleaner, be he human or robot.
