Pat Smear is so beyond cool that he looks like he is watching the other kids in the band - proud as a bigger brother in an actual garage-band practice with younger siblings for a school performance - noting some talent in the other kids if they practice a bit.
What I really respect about Dave and the boys, is that whether they are playing for 100 OR 100,000, they still put all that they have into the song! Brilliant!
Yeah, Dave is one of those rock stars that shows that he genuinely loves his job. He doesn't thrive on the fame or hate it, he just loves to play his music and entertain. He looks like he's having fun EVERY TIME HE PERFORMS. That's amazing. He's also a pitmaster, so I greatly respect that.
I think part of it is that he always has been and always will be a music fan. He remembers what is was like stumbling on those records for the first time as a teenager, what it was to meet your heroes for the first time, what it was like to get into the small club and be pressed up against the stage, etc. Etc.
i want to be friends with her! my friends are lame at shows. she danced with dave and remained respectful by not groping him. unlike the second time dave went down, not enough dancing.
Linda Flewelling I know right! I found her a tiny bit cringe at first because she literally knew every word to every song, but she is actually awesome!
that was me at cal jam alllll the way in the back, man you shouldve seen me and this random dude when they played nirvana songs we jumped for joy and were the only ones trying to start a mosh pit (nobody in the actual...pit...disappointed)
I'm reading the comments and agreeing with all the hype. But can we please talk about Taylor Hawkins? The man is a gem, he always plays his soul out, he's a massive talent, and he is constantly playing and smiling like he's the star in the latest toothpaste commercial. That man elevates music. He is the drummer your favorite drummer speaks highly of. Can we all just agree he makes this everything it is.
The drummer is the heartbeat of the band. It sucks that sooooooo many great drummers get overlooked. And you are absolutely right...Hawkins is a fantastic drummer and his “drum face” is THE BEST!
That one lady in the glasses in the front row is having the time of her life. No phone distracting her. In total sync with the band. Awesome. Love the Foo Fighters. I hope get a chance to see them live in concert.
I know eh? I would really hate to see them stop their present tour. They had a few Canadian dates and I wanted to see them the 1st time If Dave Grohl and his band accept all the Love and Support that's out here for them, maybe they will resume at some point. ALL THAT TALENT should be tapped into
I remember a Foos concert at a festival.. Dave was ill, he had nearly no voice. And still they played for 3 hours, Taylor helped him a lot and the show was beyond awesome. Thank you Taylor, you created pure art. Loved him performing under pressure. Rest in peace, still can't believe this tragedy 💔
I cried for the last days, thinking of having running dry. You made me crying on and so I 'll continue to leave it to an open end. In times like these, One could hardly face reality, that did never ever hurt like THAT! Never felt such a deep and endless, black painted and pure broken sorrow, Dear Taylor!
Not sure if anyone notices but the blend of the 3 guitars is so critical in their music and their choice of instruments is key. Chris plays a lot of Teles which are great for hi end and picking the chords, Dave on the 335 which is thicker and more mid toned then Pat play a baritone guitar which rounds out the low end of the guitar spectrum... The result is 3 parts working together to make one big fat sound!
After 1 week, it still feels surreal that Taylor is gone… Finally I am able to see concert videos, this is 4th or 5th in a row that I watch today. Never thought I will be crying watching rock concerts… The band and lady with glasses in front row having a blast, just living the best times of their lives… reminds me of myself at their concert. I’m only hoping for time to heal our broken hearts and that one day this will be back, even though it will never be the same again…
You should feel so lucky and proud of being in one of their concerts. This was my whole life band, for every moment, and never had the chance to see them live. Even if I see them it won't be the same without Taylor. The reason why I loved drums.
One of the best bands of this generation if not thee best! You can tell they play for the love of it. I love how the audience is part of the band in this gig. My heart absolutely breaks for the band and the family of Taylor. He was an amazing musician and a ray of light. I pray he’s engulfed in an endless ocean of love for eternity.
RIP Taylor. Im extremely happy to have had the pleasure and privilege to see and hear you in person years ago. Thank you for all your years of great drumming and good times. This show truly shows all of those great qualities you represent. Enjoy your time up there with the greats.

Greatest thing Dave ever did was add Pat to the fold. I would love to have a coffee with Pat and Dave but I'll just hang and listen to Pat. Seems like a genuine great guy
The Foo Fighters are that Phoenix that rose out of the ashes of Nirvana. Thank you Dave for all the work you've done to kerp the torch alive. Kurt is watching with approval and we love you for it.
Bands like the FF only come around once in a lifetime. Probably, one of the hardest working, hardest playing bands of my generation. Every single note is felt, through every single song and concert. The loss of Taylor H saddens me every time I hear a Foo song and watching the videos just floor me. The fact that TH is wearing an EVH T-shirt just makes him even more awesome. He will be incredibly missed by this messed up world. RIP TH
Very heartfelt comment. I feel the same as you. The Foo Fighters are the soundtrack of my life, my kids' lives and so many joyous concert memories. My soul just feels the loss. But, as I get older- no matter what I am facing, Foo Fighters have always made the light brighter and the smiles longer. God bless these great families that have gone the whole mile for 26 years and still bring so much happiness. This has been tougher than almost anything these past two horrible years. Sweet Virginia~~~~~~~
I so wish we could turn back the clocks - so Taylor could be with us again - his music career ended way too soon - RIP Taylor Hawkins you beautiful human x
The Foo Fighters are probably the last true rock stars. They all absolutely love what they do and are still having the time of their lives. Songs they have sang every day for 20 years and they still give it the energy of the first night. They genuinely care if the audience has a good time and want to make sure that when every single person front to back talks about the best show they ever saw, it's theirs. That's the ego to have. It sucks Taylor left the show early. After Kiss and the FF, there won't be another one. And for that I say thanks for all the fish.
Whenever I feel sad, I just look at Pat Smear playing guitar and I feel better. The man always looks like he’s thinking “holy crap this is the best thing I’ve ever done!” Same with Taylor, RIP
One of the most talented bands in rock history. They can play all their songs to perfection. But they can also play every other bands songs as well. No egos. Dave and Hawkins can exchange vocal and drum duties. I love these guys.
Sooo awesome. I love how Dave lets Ashley join and completely goes along with her doing not quite what they agreed on initially. When you spontaneously invite someone up on stage, you gotta just Grohl with it.
They all seem really happy to be the Foo Fighters, I love seeing a band that's just friendship and camaraderie, and on top of that they are fully tight in the rhythm section. It looks like a bunch of mates who are accidentally brilliant
This video shows us how great Taylor Hawkins really was at playing the drums. I am so glad I got to see him oerform. So sorry for the loss. Rest in peace legend.

I've spent a life time in greasy clubs just to get experience gigs like this, though the older I've gotten I also have started to appreciate the bands that actually put on a 'show' (costumes, props, schtick) when it is a bigger gig too.
I just love Pat Smear, he always looks like he's watching his favourite band when he plays.
He always looks so awkward up there like he is trying to focus on not screwing up. LOL
Pat Smear is so beyond cool that he looks like he is watching the other kids in the band - proud as a bigger brother in an actual garage-band practice with younger siblings for a school performance - noting some talent in the other kids if they practice a bit.

You nailed it. Often their sound runs a chord pattern up while another runs down around Dave’s pattern. It’s simple, deep and tone perfected.
So true - plus all those different chord inversions. Great musicians.

I've spent a life time in greasy clubs just to get experience gigs like this, though the older I've gotten I also have started to appreciate the bands that actually put on a 'show' (costumes, props, schtick) when it is a bigger gig too.
Mark Wilkins Arena rock = Arena Schlock
So do Kurt Cobain
I love Pat's little smile. It always looks like he's got a secret or that he's remembering a funny joke he told the guys backstage. ;D
I totally get it when people dig Foo Fighters and especially Dave. He's just ... too awesome
wait who tf doesn't dig the mf foo 😤
As a musician my one and
Only wish is to hopefully Jam with the foo fighters! They are my gods
That Pat Smear dancing and smiling!!!
Dave is definitely one of the best frontmen ever.
Es increíble como una persona como Taylor dejo en nuestros corazones esta energía y autenticidad, te extrañaremos por siempre.
Saw them for my birthday. Best gift in years! Love the Foo! Respect the Foo!
Dave is the coolest dude... 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏
