    You cannot knock Tamiya on their quality of there bodies, But these lorries ones are complex with all the parts and I have to say it looks very nice. The lines on there lexan bodies is a multi part mould, I saw it on a video of their factory. To form complex lexan shapes the centre of the mould pulls down first allowing the end parts it move inwards so they get the more complex profiles out. If not they would not be removable from the vacuum forming.

    • @RCBirds
      @RCBirds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow thank you for that information. I didn't know. And it can't be seen, because the body's just one piece😉. But this is the only point for me I have to complain. The rest is perfect and the parts fit together very great. The markings on the Iron I couldn't trust, but here, even with unprecise work, it's awesome.

      Thank you Thad. In Europe they still race. But therefore you have monster trucks which unfortunately are seen only every few years. Or you go on a long road trip.

    • @RCBirds

      Thank you so much John. The line is somehow an equivalent to the holes of the tilitng mechanism of your Scania. Something that might have been avoided, if someone has made up his mind. It looks great Dirk, the frame rails and motor area turned out great! The line in the cab is from the sliding molds used in the large cab, it allows for more details and undercuts in the body shell and the have to retracts one section to be able to get the body off the mold. It is unfortunate it is right down the middle of the cab but a lot of details would have been lost if they didn't.

    • @RCBirds
      @RCBirds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Addam for watching and your explaination. But it's hard for me to understand. I had hulls of model ships here, much bigger and produced with the same method. So I'm wondering why. And thinking of this bubble there was enough space on it to put the line behind the cabin. In the end it's just like other things, only the builder knows it, other people just🤩.
      Have a great weekend my friend.

    • @RCBirds
      @RCBirds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you want a nice car for sure. If you want to race you leave the rear side of the cabin open and dont even use the frame. So it's just 4 pieces to cut out. Paint job is just for identifying the car on the track, no details needed. But yes, the tourin cars are more easier to build. On the rallye cars you change the paint work against stickers😉

    How did ulike the liquid mask?

    • @RCBirds
      @RCBirds  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's great to work with. You need four thin layers of mask. One should do the job, too. But for cutting areas out the layers help a lot and for pealing it off, also. The price is heavy first. But the first bootle was used on six cars over three years. I'm not the one who's familiar with tapes, more getting to the spots with a brush. So this is my weapon of choise.
