Nice video. My previous saw was a Delta 14” with a riser block and I installed a 4” port through the lower door at about the 7:00 position. I taped off the ineffective 2” port under the table. The 4” port grabbed the lion’s share of the dust, and I no longer had dust coming back up the left side of the door. It was a big improvement, and my friend who bought it from me when I upgraded to a Grizzly 17” saw still enjoys it. Two advantages of going through the door is (1) you can remove the door so you can work horizontally, and (2) it is much easier to cut sheet metal than cast iron. The hose coming out the front was not in my way. I do like your solution for the upper port. Your dual port system catches more dust than my solution.

Thanks I also considered drilling through the door, but I had routed my dust collection behind the saw.

Interesting idea. Can you tell me where you got the Riser Block for the bandsaw ?

Thanks for sharing your ideas. Have you tried your new setup without the top shroud? I’d bet that your improved dust collection from below will eliminate >99% of the dust alone.

Greate thought. I have not tried that yet, but I will have to try it. Gut feel is alot of dust is dispersed before it gets near the blade hole but I definately think its worth trying. Thanks for watching.
