Actually the city is the base of civilization. Those first three letters "civ" mean city. You can have agriculture without cities. Your right in that a city depends on farms although go find a farm today which isn't also dependent on cities. They didn't plant lamp seeds and grow one outside. Mutual relationship. Farmers cash in their surplus crop at the market for complex manufactured goods and specialized services. A bunch of people all getting malaria in a rice paddy 10,000 years ago wasn't civilization it's when they sent someone with rice to Ur 7500 years ago to contract a witch doctor to rub mud on their face to make them feel better.
@@rmacd7373SO. Here's the thing. Regardless of what your made up literary definition and mental gymnastics from not even an Internet search, but your comfy idea of what a civilization comprises of is trying to say, civilization starts with the cooperative cultivation of the land around a specified hub decided almost exclusively on if there's nearby fertile soil or access to the sea to support a population growth of more than a handful of people. In instances where civilization springs up without that, you get raider colonies who are too busy struggling to stay alive because education and science gets put on the back burner along with nobody being willing to trade with them for them to gain outside knowledge. You're bringing up planting lamp posts probably laughing to yourself while ignoring all the steps it takes to MAKE that lamp post happen. Find land, survey resources, establish hub, cultivate land, grow population, engage in trade, learn of medicine, GROW ANTIBIOTICS AND MEDICINE SINCE MOST COME FROM PLANTS/MOLD COLONIES, allow population to engage in more dangerous advancements like mining/metal working regularly with less risk, refine into wiring and filaments for lamp. Cities can get nuked. Government can crumble. But as long as farms exist and people to protect them, there's civilization, commerce, and growth/regrowth. Stay in school kids. And remember that phone you're typing on is possible thanks to some farmers that didn't give up thousands of years ago and kept putting out food and medicine to allow that invention to happen.
"I was born in the cargo bay of a class 3 Star Freighter to a pair of illegal space immigrants looking for a new life far away from their home world, Terra. Terra, a world I have never seen but have only heard of in stories, and one that haunts my dreams like a specter of space. I dream of tall fields of browning grass and walls of old growth trees reaching up towards the sky as if crying out for me to come home, to come home to a world I have never known." These are the stories I hear in my head when I listen to your music. Thank you for all the great tunes and inspiration.
"That's why you volunteered for duty in former Kytiin Empire space? To maybe stumble upon the ol' homestead? Terra is long gone by now. You been in stasis so long it's a wonder anyone found you. Lots of things gone by past hundred years been lost forever now."
In the quiet countryside, far from the blaring cacophony of the battlefield, a soldier of the First Cavalry of took refuge in a dilapidated, long-forgotten house. The structure had seen better days, its walls scarred and its roof partially collapsed. It was a temporary respite from the relentless chaos of war, a haven where he could catch his breath. As he carefully entered the house, his weary eyes scanned the abandoned remnants of a life that had once thrived here. His gloved hand brushed against a rusty tin box hidden among the debris. Curiosity piqued, he picked it up and pried it open, revealing an old music tape within. Dusty and forgotten, it seemed like a relic from a bygone era. Without hesitation, he inserted the tape into the port of his wrist computer, which was linked directly to his space helmet's headset. The technology was a stark contrast to the rural surroundings, but for a moment, it transported him to a different time and place. The hauntingly peaceful notes of a banjo began to play, resonating through his helmet. The soldier closed his eyes and allowed the music to wash over him, bringing back memories of his youth, a time when war was not his constant companion. He remembered the simple joys of life, the laughter of his family, and the innocence of childhood. He had never liked the war, but to protect his home and loved ones, he had willingly donned his armor and stood on the frontline, a sentinel for those he cherished. With a heavy heart, he took out a worn picture from his pocket. It was a photograph of his family, a cherished memento that served as a constant reminder of why he fought. As he gazed upon the smiling faces in the picture, a single tear rolled down his cheek. Suddenly, the tranquility of the moment was shattered as a blinding red laser shot pierced through the soldier's chest. The deafening sound of the blast echoed through the ruined house. He fell to the ground, his life slipping away, but he clutched the picture tightly in his bloodied hand. The haunting banjo melody dwindled into silence, mirroring the fading life signal of the man. Minutes later, a young soldier from the United Colony cautiously entered the crumbling building. His expression was tense, and his weapon was at the ready. The scene that unfolded before him was a haunting one, as he discovered the lifeless body of the First Cavalry soldier. His eyes fell upon the picture clutched in the soldier's cold, lifeless hand. As he picked it up, a wave of recognition washed over him, and tears welled up in his eyes. In the photograph, he saw himself as a child, a little boy, carried on the back of the First Cavalry soldier, who was his uncle. They were both beaming with happiness, surrounded by other members of the family. The young soldier's heart sank as he realized the truth. He had just killed his own flesh and blood, the man who had carried him on his back during his early years. The weight of his actions bore down on him, and he crumpled to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. In that moment, amidst the ruins of the old house and the tragic loss of two lives, the futility and senselessness of war became painfully evident. Family ties and love had been torn asunder by the merciless conflict, leaving only heartache and regret in their wake.
My god dude this is gold. I could feel every line of that. Completely forgot I was even reading a comment on TH-cam. Thank you AGAIN for blessing my videos with your writing. Much love.
