Guessing they do the enamel dots by hand on blued because the machine for SS can leave drops and such and it can be seen easier to see than on stainless the mistakes and smears (red on black) and harder to get back off due to how they remove it vs Melonite. Love both my ppk/s's! Subbed and full bell! Not heard of you til a chance YT suggestion link just now. @HighCaliberHistoryLLC
Good Stuff ! I still enjoy my 1976 purchased new PPK/S with "Made In W. Germany" factory inscribed on the slide. I feel like I own a small part of "cold war" history.
One of the coolest handguns ever, and you got to put it together yourself! Regarding the fire position indicator painting, my guess is that if something goes wrong with the automated process and paint has to be cleaned up, the thinner might leave marks on the blued finish, while stainless would be impervious to it.
I'm glad the factory in Ft. Smith has better quality control than when Walther was aligned with Interarms and Smith&Wesson. So, I've heard anyway. In any case, very cool. Now if I can only get my hands and my wallet on the black version. 😀
The frame on a PPK/S is approximately 1/4" longer than the frame on a PPK. This is because the Gun Control Act of 1968 banned the importation of pistols that didn't meet certain “sporting” criteria, and the PPK was too small. So, the frame size was changed slightly and the PPK/S was born.
Public: "I love the PPK!" Walther: "HCH want to come visit us?" HCH: "Oh boy do I!" Walther: "Want to...build your own (wink wink)?" HCH: " *OH BOY DO I* ! ! !" Everyone: (drools) 😊😂
Pretty cool. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!

I've always loved the classic look of the blued Walthers, I'm jealous that you had the opportunity.
They're definitely good looking pieces. Thanks for watching!

That's an interesting theory regarding the painting. Could be!

Amazing great story! Are these pistols any diffrent from the ones used during WW2? Thanks

There is also a bit more rear tang, to help prevent slide bite in the web of your shooting hand.
Can you build an PPK/S with threaded barrel for 380acp or there be thread-adapter for suppressor use - ike the PPK 22LR with the thread-adapter ?? TIA

It was definitely an awesome experience, and it brings back great memories every time I handle that gun.
What did it COST you????
MSRP is 969.
Even building your own they still charged that much. Wow. Could have gotten it cheaper
Well, to be fair, I said that was the MSRP...
