They picked up other pieces prior to the Russell trade though. Plus I don’t think that Russ should have gotten as much blame as he did from the fans. It was the players and the organization that wanted him there and freely/willingly took his contract when they literally didn’t even try to get a team around him that actually fit his play style more. Hence, now he is on the clippers and for the most part has been playing better and having more of an impact. I as someone who liked the lakers never downed Westbrook because the lakers should have never picked him up in first place.
