We used to get those holiday shells in the late 80s early 90s in Michigan right on the border with Ohio. You had to leave the state to light off/only way the would sell them. They were the loudest shells at the time. They will destroy a wood or metal mailbox! lol. Good times we had!
Hey Cody, nice video man! The "star" Garrison was talking about, is actually the remains of the shell's time fuse being blasted away. You can see it in some professional shells too

I swear that the Holiday shells are the ones from around 1987 or even 1986! I bought them back in the day in a state that didn't allow any of these style fireworks. I have never seen them since and have asked several times. As I understand it they were banned back in 1988 or so. Cool to see these again!

The depth alone shells are readily available and cheap at a local firework store in Indiana. I love them. Sometimes I can get a few boxes for free if i buy other stuff because nobody ever buys them and they just sit around. Last 4th I think i got 2 or 3 boxes of these for free and I think I only spent $300 on the rest of my fireworks.

Strange cannister shells series sounds good 👍.
I remember around 2005 they had daytime shells by Black Cat called Smoke Artillery Shells it was a daytime mortar.. when it blew up it had just smoke but I never bought them .. they were disconinued not long after they came out.. Im sure they didnt work right.

I bought three boxes of those 12 Shot Mini Artillery Shells (China Generic Brand-The black box has a dragon on it) and half of them blew up in the tube like that. It happened so much I jokingly called it a feature. Red Rascals hit much louder than these.
Love these videos Cody (same name as my son 👍🏻) Over here in the Uk, well in Jersey, Channel Islands where I’m from, we used to only get and use shells in 2”, 2.5”, 3”, 4”, 5”, 6”, 8”, 10”, 12” and 16”. We have had some bigger but not many. Never seen the small ones you get over there, but some have some really nice bursts and effects from them 👌🏼

Nice video Cody. From time to time I shoot quadruple break ball shells from USA/DYI. My experience with these is similar to your experience with the World Class triple breaks - a success/fail rate for achieving all breaks per shot of about 50%. On those quads, the fail is usually with the last two breaks in a shot.

Re the daytime smoke shells. I have seen ones that break with smoke trails, here in the UK. But they are only for professional displays. They look like willows, after the burst.

Here in Germany all that stuff that you have to load yourself is unfortunately only allowed for professional pyrotechnics.

The "fishing bobber" shells seem like they're from the early 90's (possibly 80s). I've never seen them in person, but they're usually Horse Brand. Those are some of the best shells in the video in my opinion.

Daytime fireworks are pretty common in hobbyist pyrotechnics.
1.75" shells in a 2" package on the holiday shells I think. Overall I was still pretty impressed. I have pretty much given up on consumer fireworks ever since I started got into hobby pyrotechnics. It's just better being able to make whatever effect you want and cooler effects that aren't common in consumer fireworks.

Those Mini Artillery shells fit into a used 1.2 size cake.

Those Holiday Shells are actually kind of rare, they were made in the 80s and had a higher payload of powder in them before the dot class C era. Pretty sure they had MORE than 60grams per shell, which made them canceled not long after release
If you spent $200-$300 at American Wholesale Fireworks what shells would you recommend to get that would provide a variety of breaks?

The original Holiday shells were great, then we discovered Temple of Heaven shells. No going back after that.
I have to wonder if those shells that did not fire correctly were due to the use of twisty ties and were the ties were to tight damaging the shell?

Hey bud what kind of license do you need to get non consumer fireworks I got a finger print kit and they want me to send it to the ATF and if I get approved they need to come do an inspection on the place I will be storing my fireworks/explosives is that the process you had to go through ???

I remember in the late 80s or it might've been early 90s we had those plastic shells hat were bigger. They launched and broke bigger & better than anything else My understanding is for some reason they were outlawed. Does anybody know why? You might've just shot some valuable Holiday Shells. They were also called Festival Balls. Where did you find those?

dilated usually means to make bigger so those may just be “bigger” versions of ball shells. but i COULD be wrong on that
