Hi, I have a question. Whenever I try to deploy an image to a test machine I get an error stating that the mount point could not be verified and that the computer will turn off in one minute. Would you happen to know what might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

I have not encountered this particular error. I would recommend checking out the fog forums. I did see a couple of references to it there, but they are pretty old posts.
If I were troubleshooting through this error, I would work through a series of questions to see if I could pinpoint the underlying cause of the error.
Have I successfully been able to deploy an image to ANY machine? If so, what is different? If not, it's likely a server issue.
Check the settings for UEFI and Secure Boot on the machine you are deploying to. Both have been problematic in the past, depending on vendor.
Use a utility like SpinRite to check the disk, or try a different disk in the machine you want to deploy to. Again, ruling out a bad disk if the UEFI/Secure Boot options did not help.
Here is the link to one of the forum threads: forums.fogproject.org/topic/11236/help-could-not-verify-mount-point
It sounds like in the particular instance they are describing, they tried to expand the /imaged directory or disk and missed a step. Have you made any modifications to the FOG server since installing it?
What version of FOG are you using? Since FOG development has slowed to a crawl since Fall 2020, I've been using the Development version. That might be a look as well.
I hope something in this rambling mess helps. If you find a resolution, please let me know in case someone asks again about the same/similar issue. Good Luck!

@@Practical-IT Hi!, thanks for your quick reply. Turned out the solution was right in front of me all the time. With me it turned out that after I created the image for my OS in the FOG dashboard, that the image repository was empty. I had to pull the OS itself from the testing machine first by creating an automated Upload task. After that it registered the size of my Linux OS in FOG. Emptied the disk of my test machine with gparted, and initiated the deploy tasks, with successful results. It seems to be an issue that seems quite extensive, but in the end it just related to a newly created image repository (after you click create new image) being empty. (If you don’t pull it from the designated machine first)
I discovered this after some tinkering, because I’m quite new to FOG, but I surely hope it can help other people too!
Thanks again! And keep up the great content!
      Cheers!,
      BanditGaming

Thank you so much Jeremy, you rock. So it's essentially just like creating an image, instead of backing up you just restoring it. Again thank you thank you so much for the help

That's exactly it, and why I called it the easy part. Once you have setup FOG and captured an image, the deploy can be really quick to get started even without the management interface.

Jeremy, can you explain how to auto-join domain after deploy an image with Windows 10?

I'm sorry, that request is out of scope for this channel. I primarily make videos on Linux-related software.
You would be well served to read up on MDT and the unattended.xml file that gets generated.
I do not have the proper windows licenses to allow me to do videos on this.
I can point you to an additional resource that I found useful the last time I was on n a position to do something similar to your requested scenario.

      I hope this helps.

Hey Jeremy, thank you for the guides I have a working Fog-Server BUT... I can't seem to get me Fog Server working with Hyper-V or VMWare. I've tried using a different NIC, legacy NIC, Ipxe.efi .pxe .kpxe undionly.kkpxe etc etc etc. I just cant get the damn thing to go past "iPXE Initialising devices", it just hangs there. Do you have any ideas on how this could be fixed? I'm using a Draytek Router As a DHCP Server and I would like to continue to use this as the FOG server is being used as a mobile deployment server. So the VM's isn't a must but would be easier to capture images. I'm afraid the answer is going to be "Use Dnsmasq" but I would like to avoid that.

Hi Sankanyu. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the Draytek Router series of products. I did look at the router emulators made available online, but since I didn't have the model of your Draytek, I was going into the settings a little blind.
I did manage to find a few references to Draytek on the FOG Forums, but they seem to be from 2015. I'm not sure how helpful that information will be. Those links are included below.

I hope this information gives you some useful information. You may just want to ask the question directly to the FOG forum. There are people that regularly hang out over there that are much more knowledgeable about FOG than I am.
Good Luck, and please report back if you find a solution.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm always planning and playing with the flow for future FOG videos, so if you have something in particular you'd like to see, don't hesitate to mention it. As the community starts to build around this channel, I will be looking more to the feedback to steer the future direction.
      Have a wonderful day.
