School is about getting assignments done, not understanding everything right away, so these tiny capsules are extremely helpful when you need to understand the assignment fast and hand-in your animation within 1 week. Thank you SO much! You're an ideal instructor.

The final frame or the whole render sequence? If it's 1 frame you can always just render that frame and save it out using the same naming sequence. If it's the whole thing, make you you have it set to arnold and that you have lights.
Did you make the character? Many times that will happen with a model that was downloaded and it uses a legacy material. You might consider making a new material lambert, ai standard surface, etc and reapplying the texture files to that new material
I know you can export as as AVI using Maya Software rendering. But I don't think you can using Arnold. It really is a better practice doing a render sequence anyways. Especially for long renders. If the power goes out on my 15 hour render, I can just pick up where I left off. With AVI or MP4 you'd have to restart the whole render

It might, I have just always used this method as a safe guard. Too many renders have failed when I was young and this way I do not need to rerender the entire animation
There are so many variables to render time… but what you could try is render one frame (one that you think would take the most time) and see how long that one takes. Then a little math… 5 minutes at 24 fps is 7,200 frames. Multiply the render time of that frame by 7,200 and you’ll have yourself a ball park answer.
@@JustMayaStuff i mean i m kinda thinkng of quitting since rendering take a lot time and my PC is bad! cat even render a 5 min video I mean not even 10 sec one
If you just press render sequence (without picking a folder destination) it will work and save your renders. Maya just puts them in a pretty obscure location unless you have set your project. So if I were you I would press render sequence, then search your computer for .png/ .jpg… or look up the default file path for Maya

@@JustMayaStuff I did the same steps as yours, name_#.ext, but it does not render the sequence of images, I have to do it by batch render and it renders the sequences but I see that it is very saturated with brightness, nothing similar to what arnold shows me render view

@@tobypiggy123 WHat happens when you render a still image? Or press the IPR button... Is it still black? If it is check your lights and intensity
When I render with Maya I see it but with Arnold it's black
@@tobypiggy123 At the top of your screen please click arnold>lights>skydome light
Then see if you can see anything in the Arnold render

I have never tried one drive. That was the issue though?

So, I tried this and render view is just a grey square. That's why I hate Maya.

To be clear you selected something other than single frame under Frame/ animation ext? I will research this

Maya crashed or the render? What version of Maya are you in? 2024.2 is available which may fix it
