It's a disgrace dcs has zero training mission for the a10a and also has zero instant action scenarios apart from one. Great job on informing us all about the ins and out of this plane

i find these videos are better than dcs’s training missions, the training missions dont provide a visual representation (ie. “the knob on the lower center dash” which one????)

If anyone is wondering, there are some helpful community made training missions for the A-10A and many other modules

I agree, it's a shame there is no A10A missions for the beginners, however the Mission editor is so good I recommend everyone learns it right from the start. It's not that hard to learn. It's a much better way to practice things than tutorials in my opinion. As you can setup any scenario you want. Tutorials tend to drag on and with no way to skip the introduction it really cuts into your practice and learning time.

There is a great 19 mission long training guide by cfrag

16:05 The reason the miles are wrong is because you changed your destination airport and then almost immediately paused the game. Unlike the HUD it's an analog instrument and it takes a few seconds to ajust. If you unpause you can see the numbers go down to the correct setting. (So it's not a bug, it's realistic)

The reason the ILS orgiginally picks the wrong airfield in some of your tutorials, is because it picks the closest airfield to your spawn location. In your tutorials you start mid air and usually a diffrent airfield is closer to you than the one you intent land on. (So in mission where you start on the ground and later return to that base, your ILS will ALWAYS be on the correct airfield)

The clickable cockpit mod really makes this far more immersive!

Why the number of navigation point - airfiled is 2 ? How do I recognise which nav point number means airfield ?

Great video. Would like the same thing but with the updated A-10.. entering waypoints etc

Oh..ok. Can you adjust the course indicator on the HSI to line up on runway ILS course...i.e, like 130 for runway 13?

Thanks for your nice content and the support :). I just began playing dcs and I really appreciate your videos! In addition, I would have a small question. How did you manage to see the waypoints and the course and your map(F10)? When I do the same I find the waypoints in the A-10A, but they dont show up on the map. Is this an special option or extention? Thank you :)

I'm just learning the A-10a. How do do manually transition to ILS mode? Can you somehow manually enter the frequency and change nav source from INS to Localizer? ..thanks!

Press the 1 key to trans to ILS and cycle between airfields with PREVIOUS & NEXT WAYPOINT key. You can not enter the freqs in in low fidelity aircraft like this.

Eh how do I even make the waypoints? Do you have to set it up in the mission editor?

I'm actually sorry to say that but you can't identify airports by any ID or something like that, it isn't displayed anywhere. The only Flaming Cliffs aircraft which displaying an ID of the airport are the Russians ones like Su-27 and MiG-29. With the Americans you'll have to guess it by the range, trough the map like you did in your tutorial to determine the range to Batumi or you'll just follow the first point when you go into ILS-mode because this is the home airport from where you took off.

Your tutorials are great. Just started playing DCS 3 months ago and in awe of it’s detail and realistic difficulty. In the low fidelity A-10A with simple joystick and keyboard, but think the way to go must be with more complex joystick and Hotas. Saving my pennies for that. Thanks for the volume and detail in your tutorials, really enjoy them.

this is so weird. Free Su-25T has airports database with their ID's, and paid A10-A doesn't. I bought A10-A as my first plane in DCS, and actually after Su-25T it feels like downgrade.

    • @Blind_Hawk
      @Blind_Hawk ปีที่แล้ว

@@gerhardshreder2391 That's because the A-10 wasn't stationed at Georgia nor has any reason to operate there. Hence it doesn't get them. Or to generalise it more. Old Russian aircraft kept the ids of airports where they operate with them.
It's a Simulator after all, if the real plane hasn't it the in game version won't have it either.

    • @gerhardshreder2391

@@Blind_Hawk nice explanation, but i think real reason is that A-10A was originally from game LockOn: Flaming Cliffs 2 made in 2010 and Su-25T was made in 2012. I believe in real A-10A you can upload new airports if it needs. For me A-10A in DCS feels like much simpler model than Su-25T. Maybe it's just me, idk.
