He sounds like he was being a p**k ass towards you regarding Sugar Shane.
I myself called out Mayweather, CM Punk, Paula Sisters, and even Mike Typist to MMA rules matches but of course I'm not a celebrity or youtuber getting what's it called - clout, so I guess maybe that's why even though Mayweather's handler said they don't do that and CM Punk said "Don't give up on your dreams" or some other inspirational message but I get why you would do this because I tried this 10 to 12 years ago because it all happened between 2013 and 2018. I'm 47 now and I could still go and the main one I'd want is CM Punk because I thought he was conceited and obnoxious fighting Gall in his first MMA match and I'd called him out before that match was even announced and having me would've given him a better chance at winning at least since I told him I'm not a black belt anything. I've just worked on different stuff since the age of 13.
Anyway, I didn't like how he seemed to make fun of you, but if you didn't care, I shouldn't either.

As far as I can tell, from information on the "Forever True" internet, Frank Dux successfully dodged every single challenge publicly delivered until he was an old man and no longer really able to compete with young athletes. If he wanted to he could always contact Larry Holmes. Larry is always up for it! In the recent past Holmes challenged that other redoubtable figure, Steven Segal to an exhibition fight with all proceeds to go to a charity of their choice.

@ Seeing Seagal get himself "backed into a corner" with a real fighter that had nothing to lose, was not afraid to be as aggressive and couldn't be bought off is a bucket list item for me. Especially a fighter who tended to fight in a "Americanesque, boxer-ish" striker. Kinda like that Chinese MMA fighter that calls out all these old men who act like Tai Chi can win a real fight and "Chi energy" is real. Or even just a legitimately dangerous "street fighter". Seagal tuned up in a street fight would be epic!

I’m 55 and have trained in a few styles my whole life. I had a trainer from the states that came over a few times a year, and he had trained with Judo Gene, all his youth. A few times he would have us attend dojo’s and issue a challenge and arrange it, and we’d attend. The gym would be closed and the curtains drawn, and we’d test ourselves. It was always respectful.
Often painful, sometimes bloody, but always respectful.
    Those days have gone.

    • @judosailor610
      @judosailor610 วันที่ผ่านมา

"Those days" are really unnecessary nowadays, tho. If you want to test yourself there are myriad ways to do it. From no contact to semi contact to full contact, take your pick! Grappling only, striking only, or MMA, whatever you want! Shoot, there's even bare knuckle organizations if that's your poison. You wanna prove your stuff works, you can compete. You want to prove someone else's stuff doesn't work, for the most part it's the same answer. (Granted, some people/styles refuse to compete under the guise of "our stuff is for real not for sport" or whatever. But we all know they're just ducking.) Know what I mean?

I am 65 and had the same experience. We would get others visit and challenge our class - I was the biggest guy and so I always got the nod. Never lost one most would quit quickly if you took them down. I had a background in judo, high school wrestling and Tang Soo Do. Most were the Kung Fu guys, and they were completely out of it on the ground.

Yup. My brothers made all the equipment for boxing and martial arts in in So. Cal. in the day. They used to joke about "Ninja Dukes" and talked about Benny calling him out. According to my brothers Dux was making claims that he beat Benny in a "secret" match. That did not sit well with Benny. Ironically Benny's kumite fight in Hong Kong was recorded and can be seen on TH-cam. I don't think there is any footage of Frank Dux ever competing in any combat sports.

How you get better is keep training with the mind set that there is somebody better out who is training to beat you.

It would be “so amazing” if we could get Tex Cobb to come on the channel and talk about his experiences with “tough guys” in the industry! Master Richard is correct; Kumite has always been a part of the underground martial arts culture in Asia and Frank Dux has never lost a match. Frank Dux has only ever lost a match “as a student”. Master Paco Prieto is also very careful to talk about his experiences in Mexico’s Kumite.
Understand these guys are champions of the Kumite, and oath takers. Master Paco and Frank Dux have to set an example for other competitors of these “events to honor our teachers”! These events were not about putting butts in seats.
Brother, Isn’t it a coincidence that Master Frank now has “Hundreds of Thousands” of Soldiers that he controls in his schools in South America; yet, In our USA, the Martial Arts, education, medical industries, the media, are all jokes. Real Martial Arts has “collapsed” and people are practicing MMA instead. MMA means “put butts in seats”. It’s not about honor with MMA. We see with the last election, a perfect reflection of that media slander , and what power people trying to do with Master Franks legacy; They did it to Trump too! AND you see how far they go to stop someone’s success.
We are gonna have a DUX resurgence in America! America is tired of our hero’s being destroyed by scared weak leaders who are threatened by his following. Master Frank Dux could have built hundreds of thousands of students in the USA instead. The Martial Arts industry in America will soon be cleaned up and the dangerous people will be outed and will face consequences for drug trafficking, and other crimes soon. There’s been an investigation by the FEDs for nearly a decade about martial arts in the USA. Master Frank Dux and Tex Cobb would have been an amazing event to see if Master Frank fought for money instead of honor. 🫡💫🎨🙏🏻🇺🇸❤️🥷

Mr. Norton was one of the greats in my book. I admired all these guys back in the day when I was training. The martial arts has changed so much for the better over the years, but the smack talk seems to have gotten worse. What is cool is that there is always the Octagon to prove your point now ah days. Back then, you could only guess which style or person was the best. The Gracie’s fixed that issue though!😂

With Gene Hackman and Patrick Swayze?? Anyhow I didn't know that Larry Holmes was such a beast in the ring and could execute such a punishment on someone

What really gets me is how when somebody does not like you or you are not getting along they automatically think that they can beat you up and they're a better fighter than you and they're going to beat your ass that's impossible no matter how much you know and just because your not getting along with that person or you don't like that person does not make you a better fighter bottom line I truly do believe that it is one of the human race biggest flaw encoded in our DNA that our ego takes over and and anger narrows the thought process as well so that's when you actually get in over your head and lose a fight and not focused and it's so simple and so easy to understand that but people don't

The reality is if you're not wrestling boxing, kickboxing or doing ju jitsu you cant fight on any real level. And if you want to be actually be good you have to combine it.
We know this at this point.

Richard is one of those actors who sometimes played the guy who does not know how to fight very well sort of like skilled stuntmen take bumps for less trained actors in action movies. The difference is that Norton was not a stuntman or at least in some of his films he was not. My favorite of course is 'Ironheart' where he runs like a coward from the hapkido/TKD protagonist and then gets decapitated while crying out in fear. How many people watching that on VHS knew that Richard was most likely the tougher customer in real life?
