Milwaukee makes a much better cord-less electric chainsaw. Of course, you pay premium prices for a premium quality chainsaw. Just amazes me that the same parent company owns both Ryobi and Milwaukee. Also.... Just constructive criticism, you were using that chainsaw in a very unsafe manner. Just being honest.

My partner has a corded Ryobi chainsaw that has just died. Hasn't had much use but it's started sounding really bad and sparking lots on the brushes. I took it apart, it looks like the brake isn't fully disengaging and so i guess it's burned out the motor. Probably more likely to happen if you don't squeeze the trigger hard. Seems like a design flaw to me.

    Red skirt for safety, right?

I like my stihl but want an electric for light work around the house. But you're right, the work you can get for your dollar out of a good gas chainsaw is definitely superior. I also have a Remington corded saw, $40 on Amazon; it's not terrible.

I've had the 12" brushless model for 3 years, cut a lot of small logs and limbed felled trees with it. No issues, replaced the chain is all. Not really meant to cut logs bigger than the bar but whatever, keep cutting in sandals and a dress but say you're an expert.

obviously a gas chainsaw is going to perform better... but not everybody needs all of that performance lmao electric is cheaper, better for most people's use, and better for the environment

Ryobi is a great saw for what it's intended for.
12"is a auto oiler one less thing to think about.
    Love mine.

The 12” saw in the store was actually a completely different saw. Automatic oiler, toolless bar adjustment, higher chain speed, more power (I think)

Also, for the ego bar u found towards the end of the video, it is actually a standard bar, just has different packaging.

I don't think so. What did you do to your saw? No safety switch? Nice try. The 12" saw probably had a automatic oiler.

Are you saying the AC power saw is better than the gas? Or if you go electric, go AC power?

I'm saying there's no reason why a bare cordless tool (no battery) should cost twice as much as the corded saw.

It looks like the brushed one that will work sometimes and stop right after needs another set of brushes, such is the way of brushed motors

omg mine just stopped working while I was taking a little break before sawing. I checked the battery and it is working on the other tool and have almost full capacity.

Nice safety precautions. Not sure what the conclusion is here other than your regret at getting sucked into a crappy brand.
