Very nice DIY project. What I do not like very much is the energy inefficiency. I would alter two things: a) Switch to electric heating / e.g. from an old toaster b) Build a housing for the cage and the heating. You gain two major improvements. a) With a sensor you can control your roasting temperature more precisely b) You waste less energy and can optionally power the applicance with solar energy instead of fossil gas. c) You can use the same ventilator for heating and cooling d) You can build a drawer at the bottom to collect the clutter
flame roasted coffee from my own experience produces a much more tasty cup of coffee. I see what you are saying but these when dailed in after use and learning curves are just fine and saying electric is more efficient is a stretch
Good evening, I really liked your manufactured gadgets. Remarkable work. Cheer. But what I love is the coffee roaster. And I had the idea to make one like yours. So the question of where you bought the grid container and the orange plastic parts where the bearings are housed. Thank you.
@@supli304 so I've printed the parts and ordered the motor and PWM switch. What did you do for the power supply? Just a 12v DC charger with pig tails going to try pwm?
Good job! I highly recommend that you switch to a french press or other immersion brewer as the paper filters today are so overly engineered that they trap much of the flavonoids in those beautiful coffee beans you just roasted. Enjoy!
holy moly that was the real budget coffee roaster i'm looking for, thanks for the idea!❤🎉
I never had a look out for bad beans before roasting....thanks for that tip
you are inspiring me a lot , for save the budget 😊😇
Great stuff!! I was going to spend $2000 on one, but why would I bother after seeing yours home made!
Wonderful project my friend!! I'm willing to do one like this to roast some beans for my espresso machine. Thanks for all ideas :)

Hi, nice video , do you now the brand of coffee canister ?
Such a good idea. I am wondering how can you install power. thank you.
Please see thingiverse for the detail. Thank you!
Good job. 👍 I'm also interested in the power supply you used, Thingaverse does not mention a power supply. Thank you

@@supli304 Thank you so much.
Nice! I had the same idea! I just need to research how to properly wire the motor.
What size shaft does your motor have? 8mm?
Thank you for your comment! It is 6mm shaft.
@@supli304 Gotcha, Thanks! I'll start looking for a motor
There is an information about the motor in www.thingiverse.com/thing:5213256.
I hope this will help you.
@@supli304 oh that's awesome! I didn't see this part before. I'll check it out, thanks so much!

Nice roaster! What engine are you using?
Mr., may I know the tool for the orange bearing holder, I'm still making manual roasting, and that tool is hard for me to find. Thank you
It is a 3D printed holder. You can find it in my thingiverse page.
@@supli304 ok,,thanks
Dengan motor dc nya,apa benar 200rpm?
Yes, it is. The speed is reduced by PWM control. 100rpm might be OK, too.
@@supli304 ok ok👍
Hello! I am planning to build one with the same type of roaster basket as yours, may i ask what is the size of the basket? Is it 14x18cm?
Thank you for asking. The size is 12x18cm.
@@supli304 thank you so much! And it holds 250 grams too, i guess i don't need to buy the bigger variant
@@whoami724y Now, I am putting 333g,and there is no problem.
Esta para la venta este tipo de tostador?
You can find similar Coffee Roaster Machine such as

These are quite expensive.
