- I painted on a TON of canvases. What was I thinking?! Honestly what was supposed to be one painting turned into a full-blown passion project. Enjoy a LOT of acrylic painting artwork jam-packed into one video! All of this will be in my shop as well! :)

This was exciting to watch! That dark background had a dramatic Zurbarán quality which we loved. When you posted the teaser about this video, we were really intrigued, and it did not disappoint! Always so proud to see our brand in your studio. It's no secret that this channel is one of our favorites. We're going to binge watch a bunch of Mira Byler, so heads up, we will probably be leaving some new comments on some classic videos, if anybody wants to interact over some encore viewing!

Just a question: can you show us your color palette when you paint? What colours do you use? I LOVE to paint while you paint, and knowing what colors you use would be great help. I just love those colors and I want to include them in my paintings too!

I totally relate to what you mean by having feelings associated with a memory instead of words.
I was born with Sickle Cell Anemia & started having my 1st symptoms at 6mos of age so l've spent about ¼ if my life in hospitals. Yet I associate my life with SCA with the overwhelming kindness, love & compassion I've received from my family, health care professionals, hospital staff & even strangers. I could never recall every name, but I carry their kindness with me every day. I'm so thankful God gave me this thorn in my side because I get to experience kindness more far more often than negativity. It's always been amazing to see 'catty' women immediately become my biggest allies when they learn about my illness.

I'm not usually one who enjoys the whole floral paintings style, but these are stunning. It's almost heading in a more realistic direction than florals you've done in the recent past, but keeping the Impressionistic style in the backgrounds. It's definitely an unusual style I've not seen before, and I like it a lot!
I also really love this voiceover style with you being in the little bubble

I absolutely adore the set of 4 paintings 😍 and that first moody painting reminded me of my mum setting up flowers to photograph and oil paint when I was younger. She used velvet and silk fabrics for the background.

Fun video today, Mira 😊 I’ve been watching your channels since last fall and today I made my first purchase! Fell in love with your four mini florals and your transparent Artist sticker. Ordered the prints, the sticker and also your Jeffrey bookmark and your “Rest is Good” sticker 😊
My daughter makes alcohol ink and vinyl water tumblers and I plan to have her use those stickers on a tumbler for myself 😁
Looking forward to getting my goodies in early May - flowers don’t start blooming here in Alaska until June, so your prints will be a welcome spot of color in my world 😊

I'm a fan of all of them, but ESPECIALLY the dark moody ones! Those first two are 😙👌. I love how the flowers pop on a dark background, but also, I'm just a dark & moody kind of gal, lol.

Your paintings are beautiful. Coneflowers and daisies make up a large part of my favorite flower bed, so I could be a little bit biased lol.
I've been painting garden gnomes and indoor plant pots. I've been trying to bring on the spring. Glad I'm in good company. Bring on the sun.
I think the 3rd flower is my favorite but my favorite piece is the first one (I think it’s the vase being included that makes it my favorite)

I love watching your process and thoughts during your videos!! Especially since I'm not an artist, but I felt like this was more about ordering the prints from the shop, than the actual painting process that you are so good at. I mean, I'm not going to stop watching your videos over it. Just an observation.
Thanks for your kind words! I definitely wanted to let people know about my prints to share the collection. It takes 30-40 hours to make and edit a TH-cam video, which is free for everyone to watch. I make my income by selling my artwork. 💜 TH-cam doesn’t really treat creators well in terms of wages, and it’s a ton of work behind the scenes!

Your ability to create just for the sake of creating is so inspiring and motivating. I always get so nervous of starting or finishing a painting because I put too much pressure on myself. You’ve definitely helped me start painting more! 💜

Picasso said "Inspiration finds you working." It's the same with motivation. You can't wait to be motivated you have to force yourself to work & eventually you'll be filled with motivation & inspiration. It's another reason why established artists tell us to draw everyday.
I went from drawing & painting a finished piece daily to not being able to draw for about a year; after being hospitalized for months & unable to draw during that time period. Getting back into the habit was work, but recently I was finally able to draw & paint a piece in a single day. My imagination is finally running wild again. Motivation is still spotty, but every time my physical or mental health prevents me from drawing I stop when I need to; but make sure I get back into the habit ASAP.
Motivation isn't a gift, it's skill.

Love this! I just took a trip to our local tulip/daffodil fields and took a bunch of reference photos. Cant wait to paint flowers. These just inspired me even more! :)

Can I recommend you look at getting a 4k HDMI to USB for your camera. You can record straight to your computer with software like OBS and probably other software. You won't have memory card issues ever again and you can record for hours and hours and hours without stress.
You also mentioned the artists the paintings reminded you of. At this point that style is all yours. You definitely have a unique style that is perfect for you ❤

The Cam Link is the best one, but others are great too. Streamers use these things, but with OBS you can just hit record from the software and your camera works like a very high powered webcam. It's so good.
I have used TH-cam to help get the setting right, as I don't know all the tech settings.

you can paint on vine charchoal? i didnt know that. i have a pack and ive been stuck with it since i bought it tried it and wasnt a fan of charcoal, or at least blending it with my fingers. i like charcoal pencils better, at least for figure drawing studies. haha.

How do you decide what color to use as your under painting?

These were so pretty! I have a question, I used to be an artist but fell out of it, I’m trying to get back into it and I’m working how do you paint on canvas without getting the weird canvas texture in it? Maybe the texture just doesn’t show on camera but your canvas paintings look nice and smooth and I could never get mine to be nice and smooth. Do I need to water down the acrylic?? Or different brushes?? 😢 even when I paint on wood my paint always goes down super textured and gross, the paint is new and I’m using soft bristle brushes and it still has a gross ugly texture
Does she treat with gesso first?
Could you or would you teach any of these paintings as a class?

Aw thank you! I’m really sad I don’t ship to the UK anymore either. It’s hard for small businesses to understand the newer VAT laws and get an ID for it, so I’m not allowed to until I get a VAT ID. The process is so confusing though. 😭
