Great video, just started this game and the tips the game gave me were extremely confusing: why was I not allowed to flip the board with the plans? And when the inspector came on day 2 what was the only thing I had forgotten? Exactly. So I got a 1. I'm starting over without any frustrating tips, only the tips from this video. Thanks! Liked and subscribed.
On PlayStation five I can’t figure out the freaking keys to put down a damn ladder can somebody tell me or give me a tutorial on TH-cam to use I can’t find one
If you do the very first tutorial, they show you how to dig, make a ladder, and crops. This should give you the controls. Should be the same as any other placement of an item. You can not have anything in the way. Not sure how a tall room works with ladders, as I never made tall rooms for trees.
I have been planning to play a Run without using the forrest or the mines to survive, so only household items and the shops. and to progress the game, I would only go to those locations to unlock the trade and not to collect the items in the forest. however my biggest enemy early on is preparedness, I noticed trading gives you a huge boost in preparedness but with all the time dismanteling and crafting items early on I end up dead after the 3rd faint and I am playing this on hard not hardcore because I am trying to figure out how to keep that preparedness up. thats why I came to this video. but I noticed you didn't cover that.
If you are building stuff, like cabinets, tables and chairs for trade, you should have no problems with preparedness. If you are making berry drinks, every day, thie also covers that. There should never be a reason to die from not crafting.
@@ZimCrusher believe it or not I died alot from just scrapping and crafting non stop, I noticed that trading adds a nice boost to preparedness, but because there is no forest run that also means no berries which makes a whole new level of food management along with energy drinks, so sleeping is a pain considering I died a few times for napping, it slows down the preparedness but it still drops!
@@0_0NoOB So, I'm a bit confused. Are you saying that you are choosing to not enter the forest at all, unless it is mission related? By choice? this should kill you. The game is designed in such a way as to be very slow and difficult on any setting. choosing to not do a certain part of the game, should kill you. Food grows too slow inside, and you need the wood scraps that you find in the forest to craft. Basically, you saying you are going to play Super Mario, but never eat any mushrooms, and then complaining that the game is unfair. Why don't you try doing something there is a reward for, and doable? Complete the whole game as a vegan? Or just eating meat (no veg)? Or if you really like death: Knives only. Never use a gun, the whole game.
@@ZimCrusher I am not complaining about it, I wanted to see if it is really possible. I understand there is a huge limitation with food growth which I am hoping to subsidise with as much trading as possible, however my biggest issue is the preparedness, maybe you are right and the preparedness is dropping drastically because I am not progressing in the game. is it really impossible to have this kind of playthrough, the only reason I still have to travel is for the quest and traders like stone and mechanical parts later on. the biggest drawback is energy drinks which really makes things difficult because you have to ration it and somehow keep your preparedness up, which I feel needs godlike time management.
@@0_0NoOB Well, let me know what you figure out. I'm interested. This game seems like it was made without a lot of thought into different styles of gameplay, then adjusted to make it last longer, though reduction of resources. Like I said in the video, you can have $20k in funds, but it does you no good, because the materials you need to get to the next stage are dripped to you on a daily basis. Comfort items do nothing, and special foods don't do much more than easy food.
@@ZimCrusher I have done the tutorial- it gets stuck there too- I see online that a hatch appears once you build that first bunker room, but no hatch on mine to get a ladder on.
@@DJSnafu This seems really odd, as the tutorial starts with the rug, and the hatch. I have never played the game where those things were not there. If the rug is covering the hatch, you need to just click on it, and it will say "uncover rug" or something. You pull back the run, open hatch, then just go up and down the ladder. You will need to be able to hide the hatch, as well as turn the post board around to avoid the agent.
@@ZimCrusher I know, I tried restarting the tutorial a few times too and it always happened like that, remove the rug but no hatch. I ended up refunding the game, first time i ever do this. I appreciate your help & good luck with the channel- love your no-nonsense approach
Yeah, but she would also be another mouth to feed, and a serious liability in some cases. Imagine just having an argument with her, and then the Agent shows up. Agent: "The house is clean" Wife: "Damn right. No thanks to HIM. I spend hours cleaning, and all he can do is just track dirt around from his stupid orange trees." Agent: "What orange trees?"
Thanks, going to play this soon and your guide will be invaluable.
If i want to play the dlc, should i get them from the start? Or are they after the basic game?
You can buy the separately or you can buy them through the game, I think.
They are not part of the basic game as I remember.
