Joe is a stand up man, meticulous with his work on engines, panel replacement, as with his word on what he will do in a business deal. In a world full of corruption, deceitfulness and double dealing I'm so happy to know that young men like Joe exist. Excellent job . The definition for " Just " Honorable and fair in one's dealings and actions. After watching Joe's videos for years and buying parts from him, I now understand why he's " Just Mopar Joe ".
Excellent work. You know I've been waiting to see this car being reworked. Everything that you are going to do on this relates to my 69 Coronet. Thank you very much for sharing the process. God bless.
Scott from Cold War Motors would be proud of you for having a go on that panel work . He’s great at this style of work . Has some nice old Mopars . Nice tidy work Joe . 👍🏻💯🇦🇺⛽️.
Watching this with great interest. I am almost ready to start on my 70 GTX trunk pans. I am finishing the body work and only have the quarters left to sand and prime. I will keep abreast of your progress. Mine is all factory in the wheel wells. So that will be a plus for me. Thanks Joe for the perfectly timed video.
Mopar Joe you're doing a great job tackling that trunk on my road runner. I look forward to your videos and pics and appreciate all the hard work you do. Thanks again
Good work Joe! I think one of the best areas to rebuild on these Mopars in that back section. Rather easy when you break them down and most of the cars up where I am in the rust belt need it. yes its a lot of cutting but once you clear it its cut and dry.
You will do an excellent job on this . People like me will never be able to tell . I did see an old Lincoln welder in the background . That would be a great feat if you used it to weld up that 18 guage sheet metal !
you might not believe this but around 2001 my wife and I lived a little bit outside of town and our only car died and this older gentleman had a friend who bought a brand new 1970 Satellite and he passed away shortly after but his wife kept the car in her garage and my friend would walk over to her house and start the car once a month (she was in a wheelchair and couldn't drive) well he told her of our situation (our 4 kids were still very young) and said she would let us have it for four hundred dollars, it was just a 318 car but it was completely mint condition, one of the nicest cars I ever had, of course the original tires were no longer good but I had some to fit the rims and after a set of points and fluid change , fresh fuel it was our daily driver for years, sold it to a friend who needed a ride and he turned around and sold it to someone who chopped it up to restore a road runner,i could see doing that to a car that was wrecked or something but that car was perfect with the original keys, hubcaps, owners manual, etc
I know that you are doing the very best you can here Joe. Would sure be nice if you could put quarter panels and out wheel houses. The frame looks great. What ever you do it will be good.
Excellent work Joe. That B body will make a superior race car. Having worked with Jeff on the 63, I have a new appreciation for the work yer doing.😅 My old 68 Satellite looked great, but the rear quarter skins were panel bonded over the originals. The rear wheel lips were a actually about a 1/2 lower than stock and you could feel the original.
Joe, can you take the lip that will meet with the widened inner well, and cut it out, move it inward on the pan, remove the difference and it would fit up and then the pan can slide over and meet the extension/drop off?
Since there was some question on whether or not if it was a road runner before I like the name "real deal road runner" as it is a true RM23 body code road runner hardtop.
Far trickier when someone has widened the wheel wells and it wasn't you. Btw doubling up the spot welds really helps these old mopars.Speaking of spot welds, if you clean up that bottom lip on the trunk extensions you will find them. Simply drill those out. That is the cleanest way.At least on the oem non scabbed stuff. That textured stuff on the inside of the 1/4 panel is actually sound deadener.
I call it an interesting video. Burt Reynolds stared in a movie back in the 70's called The Longest Yard which took place in a State Pen,. It was the Prison Guards vs the Prisoners and Burt's team was called GREEN MACHINE 💚🍏😊. They (The Prisoners didn't know anything about Football)
Nice instructional video.....I have a 70roadrunner I bought sight unseen from Texas to North Carolina. The tail end has been mini tubbed and the quarter panels have been tacked in place but the car wasn't braced up good and it needs the panel behind the rear glass... I wish I knew what the hell to do to get it squared up . The tail light panel was replaced too . So everything everything is not right...i have a bad inflammatory brain disease that keeps me in a fog. ...if you have any pointers I'd appreciate it....thanks , Mark
Thanks Mark. You may have to make a simple frame jig and get the rear rails on it. Then potentially cut some panels and realign things. It’ll be easier to change around since the panels are only tacked in
@JustMoparJoe ....thanks JMJ . I commented before I finished watching the video. I was freaking out about all the gaps . I hadn't ever done anything like this, but i did build a frame table a few years back. I hope I can get it fixed, thanks

Cool your doing this trunk thing, being my project in the coming weeks as well. Need a name for her ? My 2 cents would be “ sassy “. Just fun to say “ sassy grass green “😜
So much pain and cringe in this video looking at the condition that car is in after all these years. Those rust layers and crusty patches... *shivers*. I'm damned glad that its getting you as the one pulling off the revival, it needs it! Everyone has their own way of doing things so ignore the comment section armchair warriors and keep at it brochacho, you got this!
Do you like the 2 piece and panels for a driver instead of the full trunk panel, thinking of doing the 2 piece after seeing this video, I just want a driver not a showboat, Thanks
He had ordered the two piece because he wasn’t expecting quarter panels to come in to play. The one piece is quite impossible to fit down in to the opening of the trunk.
@@davidbisnette7673 for sure. I would recommend sealing top and bottom sides of that seam with some seam sealer to prevent moisture intrusion and rust later on

Mr. B Body
That trunk pan job wouldn't have been too bad if it hadn't been tubbed. Good work done Joe, as always.
You got that right! I’m glad I didn’t have to tub it as well. They have a good start!
You're whipping it on it, keep up the good work.

Very possible. The pan had this built up high spot that I wanted to try keeping

Joe, if you ever need a reference on a 70 roadrunner, talk to my dad. We have a really original one, that might help. And it’s not that far away.
Absolutely!! Thanks brother

I had to fit them around tubs that were widened back in the 70’s, then make it engaging enough for you to comment 🫡
