I like to first squeeze all citrus fruits, add the fish and let it cook while i chop the rest, add it and it’s ready to eat.
cooking tip: if you rub the lemons a bit before cutting is much better to get all the juices out fast when squeezing. keep up the good content mate
0:10 You almost needed a puncture repair kit for a Rokkit leg! Damn those things are dangerous from small craft 😮

Your adventure takes me back to the 70s and early 80s when we fished these waters, it's amazing at Rooney Point how it drops off so deep from the beach. The eagle you show is a whistling kite, they inhabit coastal and inland waters. Cheers

Little tip: I noticed that you cut your lines and lemons the same way each time. Try cutting the limes and lemons the other way but first roll it a bit to soften and release the juices.

Cut the limes in half and put them in water for 10 to 15 minutes. They get softer and give more lime juice but it does get diluted a bit.

Another great video Rod! I was just watching your live video too. The live videos always remind me of guiding. Kinda takes all the fun out of fishing when you have to deal with nonsense from other people yammering about your facial expressions, haircut, and asking that same question 5 million times, at the same time you're trying to focus on catching fish lol. As a video producer, I can fully appreciate all your efforts to get these videos edited and posted. It's far, far more work than most people realize, especially on the no-fish type days or when dealing with repairs.
Cheers Alan, Yea live feed can be a bit random but I think that's what they are all about, it's a good way to just hang out with the people that like watching the channel. Then we save the proper fishing and video making for the other vids👍

Awesome video amigo. I’ll give you a pro tip on ceviche. Cut up the fish and salt it liberally before you do anything else. 30 minutes later add the citrus juice directly on the fish. Mix every 5 minutes or so for 20-30 minutes. Then add everything else.

Great Vid . Awesome location. Please get a piece of rubber hose to cover the tip of the gaff when not in use . Maybe a landing net for the rubber duck and the gaff for the skiff.
Checklist: 1) No inflatable on offshore trips (check). 2) No inflatable when fishing for fish that can put a hole in it (check) 3) No inflatable if you don't know how to patch one (check) 4) No inflatable if you're not a calm Ausie because if I was in Rod's shoe, I would have already put a hole in it.
Fantastic stuff, as usual. I once saw an interesting article about reinforcing a typical surf rescue inflatable for rock fishing - they use it to land on rocky coastlines and then fish from land (a la Morningtide). They used marine glue to stick patches of thick rubber reinforcing along the bow areas. Might be something to consider in the areas that are likely to regularly take punishment?
Yea could look at something like that if it become a regular issue... im not planing on chasing more marlin for a while😅

Im sure you can do it! Me and my ex used to go camping alot and would catch and cook our own meals. Dont underestimate a hungry chef!

You should have some flex tape on your boat when you go out just for temporary fix until you get home and fix it I've done it many times on my inflatable.

Hey man. Love ur videos. U r living the life. I like your simplicity and happy go lucky attitude. Just one tiny suggestion: you are cutting lemons the wrong way. Cut them sideways so u can squeeze out more juice.
