- In this video i am going to show you how i restored a 100 year old + wooden level, ready to be used for another 100 years. This video is footage i filmed when i was doing a few practice videos when i first started TH-cam. This video cover disassembly, cleaning, re-truing the level, re-assembly and finishing.

I just found a Stanley #95 for $8 bucks. It’s very similar to #5 but also has brass edging on the 4 long corners. I wasn’t sure if I should recalibrate and refurbish it or not, but after seeing this, I think I will. It’s a quality tool. Why not keep it nice.

Thanks glad you liked it. I always prefer to use natural finishes where possible.
@@AussieWoodshed Especially for antiques, yes. Linseed unfortunately isn't very water resistant and does not contribute to the durability of the piece.. but it looks/feels so much better
