This is one of the best videos for beginners like us who haven't made the big investment yet in moderne equipment. It allows us to buy the same type of equipments (exemplified here by the planter) because you make the maintenance look straightforward. There couldn't be a better university than this and you provide the knowledge tuition free😃. We currently rely on a "farm equipment" mechanic who must come from distance each time to fix our tractor and all other equipments because my guys are not trained. It cost us a lot of money and time lost as the job can easily come to a complete stall. I'm absorbing each and every video, playing them multiple times because farm equipments could be very intimidating for us beginners. So thank you one more time🙏.
Glad I could help you out! There are several pieces of equipment that I feel very confident working on. The planters and tillage equipment are pretty straight forward once you understand how everything works. We still have John Deere service technicians inspect the combine and tractors. Then we will do some of the work ourselves. But only what we feel comfortable doing.
I use the row cleaners to move the top couple inches of soil and plant in a little trench. It helps with weed control. I explain that in my most recent video. They also help nudge rocks out of the way of the row units.
