Cause the balancing team does not actually play the game and relies on metrics and data. They don't actually play the game to properly extrapolate the data and interpret it correctly.
Idk if I was a game developer that puts hours into making dozens of characters and 98% of the player base chooses an operator from season one that’s all tbh I don’t really care that much ash is fun

That proxy mine change not only keeps people from blowing up the enemy from the other side of the map because they got points for the alarm going off without them hearing it, but it also stops you from knowing if someone entered the building at all if you can't hear it. To keep the game fair the point of the alarm is to make noise. It makes no sense for you to know about it going off unless they change it to be a universal alarm that everyone knows about.
Yeah I genuinely can’t believe the amount of people that think this is a bad change. It requires more knowledge now to use proxy alarms. You don’t just get free information from nothing. It’s the same thing when the points used to display that you downed someone. Now you have to see it or hear it and you don’t just get free information.

fr ash has been the only consistently fun and balanced op for a while now, funny enough i think she isnt that much better than the other ops, i think the constant nerfs have genuinely set the standard that low lmaooo
They should have handle the proxy nerf by allowing the attackers a set amount of time to investigate and scout out the defenders defence, maybe we could use cameras attached to RC vehicles we could call them drones and as such the time to use them could be called drone phase.
I think they should still give you a notification of your beeper going off. I use them for flank watch when playing solo, which is most of the time, and sometimes I’m too far away to hear it but getting the notification saves my life.

The Vulkan API is the biggest problem for me, I've been running on it since Dx12 is so buggy and vulkan has been consistently the better one. Removing it is a little concerning
Bikini made a point when the recruits were announced that they could potentially have gadget Nerfed, The alarm nerf proves it. The any two gadget combo was a poor decision in my opinion
It rly sucks that they nerf the gadget overall, instead of add a conditional to ONLY nerf it on Recruit. Like "if proxy alarm + Nitro = chosen loadout, then disable proxy alarm points" instead of just disable points across the board for proxy alarms
I know about the frustration with c4 and proxy... but now since there will only be sound with it you cant even specifically say which proxy alarm is yours... so if you used it for peeking an angle and a teammate just has another proxy in a similar range you will not know anymore where the enemy actually is...
I hope they make the game run better on dx12. I have also been using vulcan and get 200+ fps consistently compared to dx12 where I have been getting 140-160fps. The game has also been freezing for like a second and then working fine again and stuttering has also been an issue for me on dx12.
I don’t think I’ll ever bring prox alarms or use sentry again, the points on the screen giving an instant alarm no matter where you were and what was happening was so good. I didn’t use them often and when I did it was solely because of the point notification,

I agree the point of it was to notify you when someone was in proximity to the alarm when you aren’t near by. If you have to be close and listen you are already in proximity and would have heard them enter anyways. It’s basically noise pollution now

Claymore buff is really nice, but prox alarms change is a bummer. Never used the Sentry strat, but I'd often place them on stairs, so I'd at least know if a staircase was being pushed, so that sucks

The alarm nerf is good. Folks didn't need to know someone entered the building if they're not near it. Its called *proximity* alarm. You gotta be in hearing distance. Unfortunate side effects of nerfing sentry but c'est la vie, they can be buffed elsewhere perhaps with better weapons. The R4C nerd isn't that bad, it won't stop being used and people are heavily exaggerating the fact it's joever. Ram though stands to lose more than Ash since, as Kudos pointed out, they're not the same weapon category.
it's funny when people complain about the tiniest nerf . it's like they just want to out themselves that they are over reliant on aspects of the game that the devs want to eventually phase out because it creates bad habits and creates a trend of the game being boring because everyone wants to do the same thing everytime. it creates predictability and stagnation. Ash is still a great character for new players but now theyll have more incentive to not just rely on an easy gun and actually maybe think about the mechanics of the game that ubisoft wants you to think about and consider because it creates a more true experience. idk how many times ive seen players just clean a whole magazine, not hit an opponent once, then die because they were reloading or trying to switch to their secondary. they want their playerbase to get better at the game so they stop whining about the wrong things.

The prox change just makes it so you have to play around the gadget and can’t get a free kill from anywhere on the map. I’m not saying sentry is still as pickable but his purpose before was pretty silly
It's not a free kill. There's a good chance the enemy doesn't even enter through the trapped area, and even if they do it can easily be avoided by droning. Also, even when you do get the kill you had to use basically all your utility.
What gets me is players will keep the reverse friendly-fire activated even when they ran in front of you while you were firing at an enemy causing their own death. Then the next round they tk you and then their friend tk every round after that and then they continue to ruin your game experience right up until the end of the game where they just insult you in game.
Getting rid of vulkan is strange... most older systems benefit greatly from this. Even my mid tier gaming PC goes from 250 to around 400 fps with less dips using vulkan.

Sorry but who uses gc6c in high ranks? No one because they nerfed the gun s recoil, the only g36c users I see are new players because it's the default loadout or bad players because they couldnt control r4c recoil, if the g3 still had its old non-horizontal recoil maybe it would be an option, but the r4c is picked mainly due to high firerate and dps. The nerf for the r4c doesn't seem all that bad but the talk about how it's to make us use the other gun is not very smart, the only difference in gun usage in situations would just be range, and especially after the speed nerf with lmgs I doubt anyone is picking the alternative for ram
I like the proxi change because there isn't any expression of skill in preplacing a nitro and waiting for points on your screen nor is there any risk involved. Now that you have to actually play near the gadgets one can argue there is at least some risk. That being said, I do hope they look into ways to differentiate between proxi alarms. I sometimes can't tell if my Proxi is going off or someone else's. They could change the sound for proximity alarms you placed as a client side thing for example and that alone would go a long way. After this change barbed wire might be the better pick especially considering their recent buff.
DRONE! You're just bad if you can't take the 5 seconds to drone for any proxi alarms or C4s, don't call it no skill just because you want to play like it's call of duty.

I just look at what I think are the objective facts and do the math and form my opinions based on that. that was the idea i had for the recruit from before this season, where they would change their primary and secondary weapon options at the very least every new year so it was fresh but no, the devs never bothered.
The proxy thing was t about sentry it was the part where the proxy point let you be on the other side of the map where you weren’t able to hear the proxy and pop a nitro instead of having to hear the noise of the proxy to actually play around it
Just getting back into this game and it’s crazy how mad people get over the smallest things 😂 I have played probably 100 hours over the past month and a half, and have yet to see that sentry strat (Gold-Emerald lobbies). Glad to see a R4C nerf though.
So basically the one shell that counts as your life if you get claymore immediately just because you switched to it you're potentially screwed because because you were trying to get out of one situation and instead just landed in another crappier situation
Wild buff for new recruit would be allowing them to pick the same secondary gadget twice. Ie. 2 deployable shields, 2 nitros, 4 impacts. Also good counter for how rampant shields are now
So the only concern I have with the claymore buff is that tubs ice negates the claymore. So there might be more jump outs with him because his ice freezes it where you have plenty of time to shoot the claymore and get the outside kills
So guys, hear me out about this, but if im right they aren't taking away actually getting points itself, just it popping up on your screen the same way they did with injures a while back. Just hold you leaderboard open if you know someone is coming from that direction or most likely will and you can do the same thing still
Sentry Strat will still work just have to stay near the proxy alarm so u can hear it go off or have a teammate near it who can call it out when someone detonates it or another one that worked for me was a bullet proof camera and a C4 wait for them to hit the camera and then have ur C4 under the camera and then denote it after they hit the camera it worked for me once 🤣

I don’t think the proxy change will hurt Sentry much. I’ve always preferred to do the strat with a BP cam instead as it’s easier to lure attackers over with it (minus explosives)
Sentry is a strong OP, the Prox C4 Combo is strong not only because of the points - it was strong because you could hold 2 positions at the same time. so i could be holding both side of the map at one time. not many OP's can do that.
the prox alarm nerf actually isnt bad. now you cant use sentry and be 100 meters away from C4 and get free kills. at least now you are required to stay close and defend the area near C4 to get the kill or just play smarter instead of simply camping and waiting for the points to come up. people disagree but you can still prox alarm C4 kill but now you gotta play more smart and be close enough to use sound cues
I mained sentry bc of the trick and I love the gun, now valk is definitely better but I may still use sentry with a shield or bullet proof with the nitro combo. I like having a secondary shoty bc I can’t trust my teammates to make holes and rotates, valk deagle can make some holes but no rotates
I really dont get why defender's not having magnified optics is such a hot take, ive always thought that it would be way more balanced if they didnt have them, attackers would have the advantage of a wider selection of higher damage AR's with better optics whereas defenders get the smg rof advantage as well as being able to hold angles and wear down the clock
to the hole sentry nerf thing: i think its ok because this trap works still fine if he is playing round the site/window/door where is placed, but activate a deadly trap that dosent look like it is a bit unfair from cross the map
If you still wanna do this, just shotgun a hole in the floor where you put the prox alarms so you can hear through the floor. I do this anyway to mark where my nitro should go
theres a reason why the r4c is always picked instead of the g36. it has better stats in the most important areas (dmg, rof) just change out the g36 for something different already
They need to make Sentry/Striker have a choice between one offensive gadget and one defensive gadget. That would make them more unique, allowing new strategies on both sides. Example being: placing a claymore on defense. Proximity alarm on offense.
I wish they had seperate balancing for same guns on different operators.. Ram had no problem with a 30 round mag and 180 reserve R4C since the issue was mainly on Ash.
To be fair, any nerf to defender 2nd gadgets and any buff to attacker ones is fine, the entire defender anti-flank/roam gadgets are absolutely much better even though flanking as an attacker is way harder. Claymores rarely get use since they're so bright and only useful behind windows, it takes basically no sound to break them, while Prox alarms used to not only give a visual indicator but always beep before you shot them, as well as being 100x easier to hide.
KUDOS! We missed out on two anime trailers now, we got nothing for New Blood and now nothing for Twin Shells… I for one enjoyed them for the story aspects and I’m kinda bummed that they stopped making them…

You should never have the thought of Nerfing recruit, especially a shoddy rework that could've been much better than it is. I want old recruit that could've been any agency, with a wide variety of weapons from each. Not this husk of a previous beacon of siege

I feel like buffing other avenues of a character or different guns work wayyyyyyyyyy better than nerfing certain things. If the r4c is outpreforming then buff the lmg-E and g36. Im not an ash or a ram player and know that just overtuning stuff like that with nerfs is horrible. Prox alarms dont need a nerf when theyre already buffing claymores. Ubi just destabilizing their game whenever they can just for the fun of it :(

The Vulkan API is the biggest problem for me, I've been running on it since Dx12 is so buggy and vulkan has been consistently the better one. Removing it is a little concerning

It rly sucks that they nerf the gadget overall, instead of add a conditional to ONLY nerf it on Recruit. Like "if proxy alarm + Nitro = chosen loadout, then disable proxy alarm points" instead of just disable points across the board for proxy alarms

I know about the frustration with c4 and proxy... but now since there will only be sound with it you cant even specifically say which proxy alarm is yours... so if you used it for peeking an angle and a teammate just has another proxy in a similar range you will not know anymore where the enemy actually is...
I hope they make the game run better on dx12. I have also been using vulcan and get 200+ fps consistently compared to dx12 where I have been getting 140-160fps. The game has also been freezing for like a second and then working fine again and stuttering has also been an issue for me on dx12.

I agree the point of it was to notify you when someone was in proximity to the alarm when you aren’t near by. If you have to be close and listen you are already in proximity and would have heard them enter anyways. It’s basically noise pollution now

Claymore buff is really nice, but prox alarms change is a bummer. Never used the Sentry strat, but I'd often place them on stairs, so I'd at least know if a staircase was being pushed, so that sucks

The alarm nerf is good. Folks didn't need to know someone entered the building if they're not near it. Its called *proximity* alarm. You gotta be in hearing distance. Unfortunate side effects of nerfing sentry but c'est la vie, they can be buffed elsewhere perhaps with better weapons. The R4C nerd isn't that bad, it won't stop being used and people are heavily exaggerating the fact it's joever. Ram though stands to lose more than Ash since, as Kudos pointed out, they're not the same weapon category.
it's funny when people complain about the tiniest nerf . it's like they just want to out themselves that they are over reliant on aspects of the game that the devs want to eventually phase out because it creates bad habits and creates a trend of the game being boring because everyone wants to do the same thing everytime. it creates predictability and stagnation. Ash is still a great character for new players but now theyll have more incentive to not just rely on an easy gun and actually maybe think about the mechanics of the game that ubisoft wants you to think about and consider because it creates a more true experience. idk how many times ive seen players just clean a whole magazine, not hit an opponent once, then die because they were reloading or trying to switch to their secondary. they want their playerbase to get better at the game so they stop whining about the wrong things.

Like kapkan, for example, is the lowest skill player in my opinion and it always irritates me when I die to them! The prox change just makes it so you have to play around the gadget and can’t get a free kill from anywhere on the map. I’m not saying sentry is still as pickable but his purpose before was pretty silly
It's not a free kill. There's a good chance the enemy doesn't even enter through the trapped area, and even if they do it can easily be avoided by droning. Also, even when you do get the kill you had to use basically all your utility.
What gets me is players will keep the reverse friendly-fire activated even when they ran in front of you while you were firing at an enemy causing their own death. Then the next round they tk you and then their friend tk every round after that and then they continue to ruin your game experience right up until the end of the game where they just insult you in game.
Getting rid of vulkan is strange... most older systems benefit greatly from this. Even my mid tier gaming PC goes from 250 to around 400 fps with less dips using vulkan.

No one because they nerfed the gun s recoil, the only g36c users I see are new players because it's the default loadout or bad players because they couldnt control r4c recoil, if the g3 still had its old non-horizontal recoil maybe it would be an option, but the r4c is picked mainly due to high firerate and dps. The nerf for the r4c doesn't seem all that bad but the talk about how it's to make us use the other gun is not very smart, the only difference in gun usage in situations would just be range, and especially after the speed nerf with lmgs I doubt anyone is picking the alternative for ram

I like the proxi change because there isn't any expression of skill in preplacing a nitro and waiting for points on your screen nor is there any risk involved. Now that you have to actually play near the gadgets one can argue there is at least some risk.
That being said, I do hope they look into ways to differentiate between proxi alarms. I sometimes can't tell if my Proxi is going off or someone else's. They could change the sound for proximity alarms you placed as a client side thing for example and that alone would go a long way. After this change barbed wire might be the better pick especially considering their recent buff.

The proxy thing was t about sentry it was the part where the proxy point let you be on the other side of the map where you weren’t able to hear the proxy and pop a nitro instead of having to hear the noise of the proxy to actually play around it

Wild buff for new recruit would be allowing them to pick the same secondary gadget twice. Ie. 2 deployable shields, 2 nitros, 4 impacts.
Also good counter for how rampant shields are now
So the only concern I have with the claymore buff is that tubs ice negates the claymore. So there might be more jump outs with him because his ice freezes it where you have plenty of time to shoot the claymore and get the outside kills

Just hold you leaderboard open if you know someone is coming from that direction or most likely will and you can do the same thing still
Sentry Strat will still work just have to stay near the proxy alarm so u can hear it go off or have a teammate near it who can call it out when someone detonates it or another one that worked for me was a bullet proof camera and a C4 wait for them to hit the camera and then have ur C4 under the camera and then denote it after they hit the camera it worked for me once 🤣

I don’t think the proxy change will hurt Sentry much. I’ve always preferred to do the strat with a BP cam instead as it’s easier to lure attackers over with it (minus explosives)
But you could also use the points from the proxy to be able to identify when a new player went by it

Sentry is a strong OP, the Prox C4 Combo is strong not only because of the points - it was strong because you could hold 2 positions at the same time. so i could be holding both side of the map at one time. not many OP's can do that.
the prox alarm nerf actually isnt bad. now you cant use sentry and be 100 meters away from C4 and get free kills. at least now you are required to stay close and defend the area near C4 to get the kill or just play smarter instead of simply camping and waiting for the points to come up. people disagree but you can still prox alarm C4 kill but now you gotta play more smart and be close enough to use sound cues
I mained sentry bc of the trick and I love the gun, now valk is definitely better but I may still use sentry with a shield or bullet proof with the nitro combo. I like having a secondary shoty bc I can’t trust my teammates to make holes and rotates, valk deagle can make some holes but no rotates
Prox change makes sense. Theyve done the same in the past by removing nitros from tbird and melusi.

I really dont get why defender's not having magnified optics is such a hot take, ive always thought that it would be way more balanced if they didnt have them, attackers would have the advantage of a wider selection of higher damage AR's with better optics whereas defenders get the smg rof advantage as well as being able to hold angles and wear down the clock

to the hole sentry nerf thing: i think its ok because this trap works still fine if he is playing round the site/window/door where is placed, but activate a deadly trap that dosent look like it is a bit unfair from cross the map
If you still wanna do this, just shotgun a hole in the floor where you put the prox alarms so you can hear through the floor. I do this anyway to mark where my nitro should go
theres a reason why the r4c is always picked instead of the g36. it has better stats in the most important areas (dmg, rof) just change out the g36 for something different already
that whole “removing points from proxy alarms” isn’t really that big of a change or nerf, you can still listen out for them and time the c4
They need to make Sentry/Striker have a choice between one offensive gadget and one defensive gadget. That would make them more unique, allowing new strategies on both sides. Example being: placing a claymore on defense. Proximity alarm on offense.
I wish they had seperate balancing for same guns on different operators.. Ram had no problem with a 30 round mag and 180 reserve R4C since the issue was mainly on Ash.
To be fair, any nerf to defender 2nd gadgets and any buff to attacker ones is fine, the entire defender anti-flank/roam gadgets are absolutely much better even though flanking as an attacker is way harder.
Claymores rarely get use since they're so bright and only useful behind windows, it takes basically no sound to break them, while Prox alarms used to not only give a visual indicator but always beep before you shot them, as well as being 100x easier to hide.
I hate runouts because by the time you see the warning and see the guy your dead and it's always a doc azami or what ever op that people solo with

I feel like buffing other avenues of a character or different guns work wayyyyyyyyyy better than nerfing certain things. If the r4c is outpreforming then buff the lmg-E and g36. Im not an ash or a ram player and know that just overtuning stuff like that with nerfs is horrible. Prox alarms dont need a nerf when theyre already buffing claymores.
