Hi, Phil! Another great video! Another aspect of the paint enhancement vs. paint correction debate that people don't often talk about is the fact that it's not fair to your other customers to do a full paint correction if the customer doesn't want to pay for it. Yes, it's a business, time is money, etc., but it's also not fair to your valued customers that HAVE paid for a full paint correction at a significantly higher cost. I appreciate all of your videos! I've been watching for several months and have gone back and watched a ton of your videos from the past. I'm opening the doors to my mobile detailing business Oct. 1, and have used your videos as one of my go-to references to develop my packages and workflows. Thanks for putting out all of these educational videos! ~Barry
Hi. Very good points! People often forget that we are a business first and simply showcase the jobs we are working on. We are not TH-cam detailers who show everything being cleaned and polished to perfection, which is often unrealistic for the majority of customers, and detailing business in general. Thanks for sharing your advice!! 😎👍🏼
Hello Phil + Jess from Australia ;) Another customer who washes their car with a house brick, what a mess and they are lucky that you had your hands on it to improve it that much..
Beautiful turnaround on the VW, that finish was indeed hammered!! I've worked on quite a few like those, i usually reserve 3-D aca 500 or mazerna 400 for those jobs. Time is 💰. Excellent video phil! 👊
I just started enhancing my 20 year old Jeep. Definitely still have scratches but the amount of swirls and fine defects removed was astonishing, and the gloss really looks great. I'm using Griots Boss Fast Correction Cream on LC orange pad. For me, I am just calling this step 1 to help see all the paint chips and deeper scratches I need to address. After I've fixed those I will go real heavy compound and polish. On my hood the paint enhancing took off the low quality 10 year old paint touch ups from previous owner, so my chips are even more evident but at least I can repair them properly now. Love your vid!
Nice video buddy Amazing job and results. Last year I had a VW Polo to do a one step polish but I ended up have to do a 2 step and charge for a one step only as I had already given a price.
Great video again Phil. I had the same problem few weeks ago on a 2004 corvette hard paint. Also I got tired of waiting for the spta to come back on Amazon lol so got Dewalt cordless polisher instead.
Phil, Great improvement and you showed great restraint from going further. Did you first try using a dedicated water spot remover on the roof glass before using the cutting compound?
Hi. at this time I didn't use a dedicated water spot remover, But in my new and future videos you will see us use a few options that work incredibly well!
Dear Phil sir, you already used a MF pad and h9 heavy cut.....what more you can do if the customer wanted full.correction? Rotary? Because i think you already reached the max cut you can do. Thanks
Great video. I love essence. I use it for my half yearly polish of my black car and before coating. For any home weekend warrior, wait at least an hour before topping essence with anything. If you can go longer, even up to 24 hours try that. Obviously if you are running a business and don't have the time, just wait as long as you can.
Thought you were going to use Xtreme Solutions LVR 403 to help that finish out? Wonder if it would have filled better? Got me wanting some of that Essence now. Never seen a car that badly scratched. I mean that likely just needs a new paint job. The heck with wet sanding the entire car.
Oh my that was hammered. Unfortunately you see alot of that on the road and parking lots. I'm finally starting to "pull back" from doing paint corrections when I was suppose to enhance. It's very hard. All those paint perfect enzymes running through my blood and giving me knots in my stomach. Lol. That was a super nice turn around! Hi wife!
Phill great professional job you have done. Could you tell me how much microns of cc is taken off with this enhacement on this particular paint? Thanks
Hi. Thanks. It’s very difficult to actually figure out how many microns or Mils were removed. I would have to text every square inch to figure that out.
Dear phil...if we ignore swirls, scratches e.t.c. the marring from the clay towel can be removed in this paint easy if you machine applly wax with red or black pad? Thanks
Nicely done Miran-Duo-Squad! Its nice to see full paint corrections with near 90 - 100% defect removal, but it is also nice to see "swirled to hell" vehicles get an enhancement. Its oddly satisfying feeling that buttery smooth surface and that pop in color! Great job team! Question, so I bought a clay towel with your provided link, love to support ya, do you feel as though you can decon the whole vehicle with it? I got a "Soft / Light" clay towel and even though it can get most of the particles off during the soapy wash, I am stuck between (clay towel car during wash, but more elbow grease) or (wash, rinse, and then clay BAR with higher duty instead). I am uncertain to see which is more efficient because if the clay towel takes more agitation, but can be used during a wash, is it faster than a wash, rinse, and then clay BAR instead? Wanted to hear your thoughts on this because there seems to be many ways with different outcomes and time durations. Love the videos and information you push out MiranGang! Always rooting for ya! ;)
Hi. thanks so much! So actually it depends on how bad the contaminants are, but usaully we use the mitt for the all the top surfaces down to about halfway then use a traditional clay bar for the bottom portions that are usually worse. so sometimes using both is needed. sometimes the grit is so bad that the clay mitt is not enough and we have to use a clay bar for the entire vehicle. So don't worry, we do what we have to do to get the paint the way we need it.
@@MirandaDetailing ahh! That makes so much more sense now. I bet it must be worse in your area because you experienced more rain, bugs, and artillery fungus I presume? Do you change the clay method when there is organic contamination such as fungi and moss?
@@MirandaDetailing Ah, cool cool! Tank you so much for the information! Im in SoCal, so worst I get are spots, heavy iron deposits, and mudding. Well, at least I am more prepared with this info, thank you so much! ;) I should really go and take a detailing course with you at this point!
"Detailer's Dilemma" I like that phrase. Great results. I feel your pain. What would you call the customers reaction to noticing minor defects that remain after a detail/paint enhancement? Customer's recontentment? Client's Recalibration?
How are you liking your MaxShine M15 Green? I found them in stock on eBay and grabbed one, got it last week and I'm having to send it back as two of the screws that hold the counterweight on were completely stripped out and came out while doing my first pass with it. looks good. this would be a great service if someone wanted to get they car ready to sell. One question, do you think using the old school rotary would cut more/faster? Just asking because before you started the paint was really rough
Hi. Thanks. Not sure if a rotary would have made a huge difference or not. The scratches were so deep I wouldn’t want to compromise the clear coat and go any further.
This thing needs a complete overhaul. Great job though to gloss it up given the condition it arrived in. Have you ever considered using Essence Plus after Essence? If not you should. It is a better 1-2 than using Reload over Essence.
Phil, I have a problem. I used super clean diluted 4:1 as a pre wash. I sprayed it on a wet panel and let it stand for about 30 sec to 1 min before rinsing off. The issue is that it stained the black plastic located by the side windows. The plastic looks white/gray where the degreaser ran down. I tried several trim restorers to no avail. Do you have any suggestions?
Meguiars ultimate trim, car guys trim restorer, blue magic black again, and stoner trim shine. What do you think happened? Were the oils removed from the plastic?
@@MirandaDetailing thank you so much for the advice. Turned out to be really stubborn residue. I gently cleaned the black plastic with a magic eraser and it came off. Thanks 👍
