The first ever time I killed the Tree Sentinel, on an old character, I actually killed him by dishing out as much damage as I could before I ran out of health, then got the scarab in the forest. Came back, did more damage. Then I cleared out the camp, came back, and did more damage. Then I killed the little weak ragtag group and two guys on horseback, came back, and killed him. So many flask replenishing sources in that area, and his health doesn't return to normal unless you rest at a grace, that if you can avoid being one shotted, he can be easily manageable at even fairly low levels.
@@over9000optimally , when I first defeated him, I didn’t use any estus , because I was mage and it was pain , because he could deflect any of my attacks back to me. And I didn’t level up or had Torrent back then. It was fun 😂
My first time fighting him I had a friend with me an we didn't realize he had extra health because of him being summoned so we were like why tf aren't we doing an actual damage. 😩 But from day one Strength build was the way to go

See, the difference is. When we heal, we have VERY little HP compared to bosses. When bosses heal, we had to spend minutes to get them down, only for them to heal back to full. It just feels cheap in the latter instance because bosses already have WAY more health than a player can ever hope to have.
The thing is that bosses have tens of thousands of health, while the max hp you can have is a little over 3k (which you dont ever see anyone going for). The bosses can deal thousands of damage with basic attacks while you deal a few hundred with your basic attacks.

I was watching a speedrun and was amazed by how the guy perfectly and non chanlty parried the draconic tree sentinel then pushed him off the edge. So i made a new account and started teaching myself to parry and then i got to the Draconic tree sentinel amd spent 2 and a half hrs trying to take that mf down like the speedrunner. It was so tiresome amd annoying but man it felt so fucling good when i didit. I love parrying, I'm addicted. Now I'm tryna kill margit, parry only. Next i wanna try those crucible knights

Now usually I go get the Blood Hound Fang ASAP and just start from there. Damn weapon is so OP. If I make a second character? Poise damage makes the game just so much easier- no idea how people play this game with freaking twinblades.

Dope as hell, would've been cool if there was a variant that could heal themselves and their allies. Maybe that ability might return in the upcoming DLC?

I really hope they bring back tree sentinels for the DLC. The fact we can only fight three in the entire game is a crime. I always loved fighting these guys, and really wished they had more diverse and flashy move sets. Yknow, to really emphasize the fact that they’re the erdtree’s strongest defenders. Maybe in the DLC we can fight some tree sentinels trying to defend and nurture a dying erdtree, perhaps aided by some leyndell knights or even our first encounter with golden order paladins.
If you use torrent to climb up the side platforms they can't touch you lol, figured that out when I jumped and got hit, they knocked me off torrent but couldn't touch me no more, made me happy lmao
That'd be a good way to stop people from fighting it immediately. Trying to get summoned to dungeons and fun things at a low level only to get summoned to this boss a million times by a host that isn't even participating in the fight.
Its not just Tree Sentinels that heal Crucible Knights. Player buff incants or heal incants also affect Crucible Knights, meaning your Golden Vow just became OUR Golden Vow.

True, we see them protecting Marika’s home village in Shadow of the Erdtree even though it has been deserted for god knows how long with a miniature minor erdtree at the center of it

It is super stupid when fucking enemies like loretta and gideon can cast incants and spells from their normal weapon. I always get jealous fighting them
It took me around 10 tries when I fought him the 1st time at around level 15. I’ve played all souls game since Demon’s souls and I know he’s a beginner trap, but I still fought him just to get a feel for the controls. It was fun.😂
Tree sentinel is genuinely not a hard boss. Just tedoius as hell to do at a low level, fight him like any other big boss thats humanoid, stay on the side holding the weapon, roll into the swings to get around him to the side not holding the weapon, and then wail on him during his long ass recovery animations
I think it might have been a bug but I’m pretty sure I saw one of em do that during the Sentinel Duo fight one of em healed and I was extremely confused bc I had never seen that before and it didn’t do it again even after 4-5 run ins with them
You can cheese the tree sentinal with square off on the longsword vagabond start class every 2 hits of that stance breaks then whem stance broken wait 3 seconds then do charged attack then repeat
It was probably intended to counter projectile spam or as part of the double tree sentinel battle, one being more support focused and the other offensive
Tree sentinel had that small portion that very well could have made it the strongest boss ingame. Oof. And imagine that was right when u come out of the elevator lol 😂
Try head, then try critical hit 🤔 Aka hit them on the head and they'll stragger for a crit, and the multilayer on it is big on that enemy, making them die quick witj crits, they have low poise, so 2 charged heavies will stunlock them

They should have let the torch one use this with his torch. It would work great because it’s typically a healing spell for if ur trying to heal more than just urself and they could have made it look really good from the torch

Yeah it doesn’t feel cheap when other players heal since they are following the same rules.

Some mobs are easier to parry than others. Crucible Knights are actually one of the easiest npcs to parry in the entire game.
