I'm a Levon Helm/The Band fan and while I appreciate covers, I have always thought they fell a bit short. But this was wonderful!

By far the best version of that song . The greatest soul singer of them all. He should have been more widely recognised . Rest In Peace Dobie, we may never see the likes of you again.

This precious man never got the props he so greatly deserved. Sometimes wonder if it's because he was stuck between country and R&B genres. Mentor and Paul Williams wrote for him- Drift Away, I Never had it So Good, his cover of Loving Arms - so amazingly done they choke me up every time. What a gift he continues to be.

Dobie Gray, one of the most unheralded singers of all time.
No 2 bar rap crap here, just a powerful and melodic voice that should have been far more recognised, well before his death.
Had the unforgettable pleasure of hearing him perform this song in Melbourne, Australia, some years ago when touring
He sent the band off stage.
Just Dobie and a spot shining highly on him.
Did he lift the roof off the venue performing this song superbly. Power, melody and grace.
    A great talent.
It seems that this was posted some years" after his death. Thanks for putting it up.
    He was just so good!
