I like to think that at one point Trolls could have been real. Whether they were the massive creatures from Lord of the Rings or folklore or if they were simply large apes or hominids that once wandered across the planet is a different question, but it's nice to believe that there's still something mystical about our planet beneath all of the cold, hard logic and calculated facts.
My mom and dad saw a troll digging through some trash my parents had thrown out to the front of the house. The things was very pale and long faced that way they’re depicted in cartoons.
There's indigenous tales of giants in all continents. Just like dragons and the world flood, they're things that have only survived in tales but there's too many examples of legends about them to completely disregard them.
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any help you can give me!
I don't see why it's so hard for people to believe this stuff. I grew up near the mountains and I always thought they were "alive" when I was a kid. When I learned about land spirits it made complete sense.
That was enjoyable, I really liked the ending when the camera man kept finding all those faces in the stone! Very nice, thank you for sharing guys and gals :D
"the ending when the camera man kept finding all those faces in the stone" It wasn't just the ending, they had them throughout the video. Maybe you didn't notice until the ending.
This was really nice. I think it's fun that old superstitions still has a strong hold in the Nordic countries. Even in our family home in Sweden we had a grass tuft that we talked about as if it were a living troll. When we were burning the grass every spring we would make sure not to set fire to it, and in the summer we would cut its "hair" so that it would be able to see better.
LiquoriceLover I’m a native of Iceland and I have seen some strange large wool people in the mountains. They were big fuckers like 230-300cm tall. They had dark hair and giant noses. When they smelled me out and looked at me I ran and yelled the other directions.
Wosedav Josedav It happened on 12th of December 2017 and I wanted to experience -20°C because it was only -15,3°C in Reykjavík. It was -21,3°C when I saw them and I it was very weird because they had a lot of exposed skin. They were also wearing wool clothing which was badly sown together and I heard no language only one grunt. I’m never going back there.
Thank you for doing the subject matter justice. A well made short documentary that could easily have been a full length one if you had included elfs, ghosts and monsters.
I'm not a quantum physicist- but the idea of Trolls and Elves (people from another dimension or world) coming though dimensional doors is intriguing~ that would account for strange interaction with electrical machines/devices
Unlike what most know, we do have historical accounts of the unicorn actually existing, but sadly humans killed that animal off about 8-9000 years ago, but from the history we know it is a account and not a myth that they did exist in India and where valued for every part of their bodies and skeletons for use in medicine and potions etc, thus why we do not have remains, for they were over hunted by a people whom believed in using every part of the animals they killed, unlike how our people do things today and only use certain parts. fascinating none the less to find out it was not a myth, and it goes to show the truth behind the saying "Within all myths there is truth"
Jonathan R. And not one Unicorn died of natural causes or from attacks by predators. None was missed by those pesky humans. Bullshit!!! No evidence of unicorns I'm afraid.
Just to tell you some truth, dimensional doors did existed but they were close in the 1980's and some creatures are still out but hidden to humans until the nights. 90's still had a lot of manifestations, today only teens at night loose their mind and the mountain calls them. They walk and get lost until they find them roaming in the wild not in their mind.
If you’re driving around the country, and you end up in some tourist trap with some important piece of our natural history (like the geyser, the falls or even the blue lagoon) just keep in mind that if they say they believe in elves, trolls or any other mythical creature most foreigners think of when they hear Iceland..... they don’t. Maybe few do, but this isn’t as common as you’d think. Trust me, I am Icelandic
Australian aborigines tells of many stories or legends to describe all that is natural in their land. Be it for learning or just understanding I like it for the respect and connection you walk away with. Pretty much like the Icelandic do.
I believe that there were such a thing as trolls. Being from Norwegian descent, I am well aware of the stories of my ancestors, and how terrifying these creatures were. I think trolls were a type of species of giant. You had the trolls of Norway/ Scandinavia, the giants of the Americas, and orcs, goblins, etc. of Europe. They were all basically the same, each of a different build and were killed in the Great Flood.
hello is anyone here its been 4 years since someone left a comment this was a descent upload i have a question or two but im not going to ask unless i hear back from someone here
Go to Iceland if you ever have the chance! This place will blow your mind! I made a video on my youtube about my travel there, maybe it can motivate you to go there! And it will change your ideas about trolls and Elves when you are back!
Also happens to my country. They will build a bridge, but an unknown force are flipping their big machines and big digging equipment in the morning But no sound at night. So the government decided to cut the highway and build arround just to avoid that area. Some say elves did it.
Check out Woodward TV about trolls. The Bible and Norse Mythology are closely related. There's truth in both. People should read the Bible. There's truth and mystery.
These creatures won’t hang around human cities so modern people will never see them. They live in the desolate forests. Scandinavia has a lot of forests.
This is a beautiful film but it reminds me of the people searching for the yeti and in the end of the film the guy finds a piece of poo, and he licks it. Says definitely it's definitely yeti poo.Yes it was a documentary.Or it was chuppacabra .
They come in and out of our reality as they please. In order to see them you would have to surprise them, maybe put it in slow motion and look for colors and shapes that quickly dissapear when the camera hits it
+nicholas duprel Thats just how trolls are in Icelandic folklore, if they get hit by sunlight they turn into stone. not any dumber than most other mythical beings.
Ok, I'm in love with the cameraman! Those shots were stunning!

Mudfossils. The Mythical Legendary Creatures of old actually did exist.

GD_King_Olav Trolls?
Wosedav Josedav I believe so. It happened at a place called Hafravatn which is a 20 minute drive from Reykjavík.
GD_King_Olav, which year? During the last decade, earlier or recently?

No, everyone knows that a unicorn created the phenomenon....

damn I wish I had the money to go to Iceland...shame I might never see it.
hahahadracula, You might, but you certainly won't see any trolls.
It’s like $350.00 round trip. Not very expensive flight I have no idea about lodging though. Lol. Hope you are well great vibes to you and yours😎
hahahadracula put your mind to it, you can do it
Its s cheap flight but when you get there mostly everything is rather expensive like shopping and going to resteraunts.
I like that Icelandic people coexist with interdimensional beings.

This was beautiful. Thank you.
Great little video. We highly approve ;)
Beautiful beautiful video.
Amazing, so beautiful country 💓🇵🇭
Oh I get it. The guides are the ones who troll the tourists with rocks.
Well played, Iceland.
All that lava rock is so dark, it's unlike any beach I've ever seen.
Just imagine the moment you were looking for trolls thinking it's just a myth.....and then you actually find one.
Beautiful landscape!!! I think they succeeded in showing the best scenic spots, yeah
Top work guys
There is a piece of truth in all legends

What is her accent? I can't place it. I love this kind of thing, though, folklore is fascinating.
Dutch i think she said
She may be Dutch but her accent is not. I would say middle to west middle south English. With a little bit of Icelandic.
