I do not even feel depressed on my birthday, I just feel like a failure like ever since I became a teenager every birthday was a constant reminder that I am behind people my age and it makes me feel like I fucked up. Edit: Happy Birthday Alex!!!
One aspect of life is that it's an endurance test and it will inevitably be over at some point. Every day, every year is a bonus and I don't want to take it for granted. So I think of birthdays and age as milestones for your good fortune and resilience. A celebration for keeping the streak going.

Being sad sometimes can be good (as lon as it doesn't happen too often, which might mean tha, either we are making bad decision, or not taking actions, or becausewe are clinically depressed) as it tell us that we need to pay attention to something or take some action. My birthdays tend to feel very lonely as they usually are just like any other day. It's ok, I believe that one day I will figure out how to have a social life and I won't be alone anymore on my birthdays.
mine was a couple weeks ago, and for me it is the depressed bitterness that not only am I closer to the end, but there's no time outs, no 'hold on, let me catch my breath'. it's going by in a confusing whirlwind of possibility that we cannot ever grasp the majority of before it's gone from our reach, and the frantic attempt to grab at it all often means we miss most of it... and what we do get will often feel meager and disappointing when held in comparison to the other things we reached for but slipped our grasp. there's no going back for another chance, there's not even a chance to stop for a moment and rethink your approach. no time to process, no time to grieve, just the onrushing indeterminate end point threatening us with ideas like 'do you go back to school for 4 more years, unable to take advantage of other things during that time... only to get hit by a car/have a stroke etc coming to the end wasting those 4 years of opportunities you might have desperately grasped at instead.' ... it never stops for even a minute to let us catch a breath, find a focus, and enjoy the whirlwind.
You’re so right. I always find myself wanting to take a break or just catch a breath or just pressing pause just for one moment. But life keeps going, and all you can do is keep going.
Daym, this might be completely redundant sounding but you need to chill. Sit down outside, watch and listen to the birds and insects, smoke a pipe maybe idk but just stop the worry Things probably aren’t passing you by at the rate you think they are, if at all. There are always more chances to do things, it doesn’t matter if people say you ‘should’ do ‘this’ at ‘that’ age or whatever. If there are things you actually wanna do you don’t need to be in any rush to do them. Panicking because you think that the time you have is escaping will only make you unable to enjoy the time you have. Take it day by day, appreciate the world and universe and everything in it and just chill out. Life is awesome and death isn’t the end :) You haven’t blown anything away
Wait till you turn 81, as I have! But, I look at it as just a number...my spiritual outlook has not changed...just the physical case! The way humanity is going, I'm glad I'm my age...as I came of age in a better time...with a small, but fine family. I never married, an only offspring...living my remaining years with the individually I love!
Happy belated birthday!!! Mine is this weekend and I told my roommate I'm either staying inside by myself or I'm going out but I wasn't sure yet. So she invited me to her extended family party. I'm really nervous to go cause I don't know them and I'm introverted and kind of afraid I'll embarrass someone if I'm my goofy self.

Its exciting until the day then its a bummer cause your older. You can still be present, I find it easiest in the morning right after waking up; just a minute works good cause you will find yourself there every morning and then every week and then every year and then its all the time or no time ; ) Plus your always waking up. Also death isn't that bad cause its no longer your problem, the person contemplating death cannot experience being dead only being alive so just smile and enjoy it while it lasts cause its forever! my birthday was the 6th but i had work so i was gonna celebrate it on the 7th because I was off. that morning i went to the mall to get korns life is peachy CD but they were closed because of a water issue or something. when I got back in my car I saw texts from my friends who were gonna go to skyzone with me that day, cancelling on me. worst part was on the way home. I was just about home when my brakes shat the bed and had 700 ping causing my front bumper to go nuts to butts with the car in front of me. I just totalled my first car.

My birthday is coming soon this month, i dont know what ill do, but its fine, i can see people from my family moving their hearts trying to make something special, even if is not fancy, even if is for 1 day, and this is probably enough.

I think most people who are sad on their bday is because society tells you that you're a loser unless you have tons of people turn up and celebrate with you, which is unrealistic really unless you're like 12 lol. All special days seem like a scam anyway, it's just a reminder to buy stuff.
hey at least you're in your twenties and have things you can do and you have the ability to think and function and move about etc.. also maybe spend time with people who value being able to spend time with you and not on a screen.. that'll help jeez maybe celebrate the fact you have LIFE!!! you are HUGELY taking being able to live and breathe for granted if you think that is not worth celebrating try not breathing or moving for as long as you can manage.. you'll maybe start to appreciate being able to live jeez start to count your blessings.. Birthdays aren't fun anymore since my dad passed away. I was born in August and he died a few days before my birthday.
