All I see here is a WASTE of tax payers dollars. Absolute waste. I am 45, still recovering from the financial hit I took during and after covid. Knowing that all my hard work and efforts for a decent retirement and or simple little life was all for NOTHING. Watching this made me realize that it's never going to get better, I see no hope for my future and although 45 is not old...I ask myself why I keep going. For what? I did everything right and my life is in ruins and these two give me no hope. The only thing that brings a small smile to my face is knowing that they sit on mountains of corrupt money and could do and be anything...but are choosing a life of constant damage control, chaos and having to catch the next flight while rehearsing their line to cover up the lies they just told. They have no peace....nobody in politics does and that's exactly what they deserve. I hope it was worth it.

Who’s too old to drive? Biden doesn’t drive because it’s against Presidential safety rules. Biden is a few years younger than my mom and she’s still able to drive and very well. Most people lose their driver’s license due to DUI, multiple DUI’s, excessive unpaid tickets, vision issues, failing the written test and/or the driving test, but NOT just because they’re old.

It was like watching two inpatients at the old folks home, one with chronic narcissism and one with unmistakable dementia. This is what American politics has been reduced to. Not that voting actually makes that much difference, the US political system is completely captured by the rich, corporations and special interests, all working against the needs and best interests of the American people.
"This cannot be real life. It just can't. F*ck! We're America!" A few seconds of closing dialogue that has wholly summed up so much deep seated anger and heartbreak.

Both of them said they wouldn't run for President if the other wasn't also running for President. Can't they reach a mutual, legally binding agreement to both drop out of the race? It's a win-win situation. They both don't want to be there and millions of Americans want different Presidential nominees.
Both parties have had 4 years to have come up with different Presidential nominees. Republicans tried and their nominees couldn't beat Trump. Democrats didn't even make an attempt.

The fact that two supposedly professional moderators stood there with a straight face and asked questions while that was happening on stage, never pushed back, never fact checked, didn't even bother to go back to questions that one candidate refused to answer, was the real disgrace. If there was a teleprompter with the questions, it would have done the same job as the CNN moderators. They are just an entertainment news channel.

@kaladze93 25th Amendment is about the removal of the president from office, be it from their death, resignation, or if they become sick or disabled in a way they prevents them from doing their job. Power is then transferred to the Vice President.

We have no real agency with our government anymore, really. The main issue right now is the Supreme Court, which will keep leaning further right with another Republican presidency.
We have no say on who is elected to the SC, and the judges there have been stripping long-standing precedence like it was 70's wallpaper. This is the only reason why I'll vote for Biden again if I have to. I can't stand the thought of Trump putting more right-leaning judges on the bench

With no offense to SNL, the writing and execution was substantially better. Of course, SNL tries to do scenes (MUCH harder), not direct commentary. But it is put together over the course of a week!

Looking from Australia (and yes, your choice of President will affect us..AUKUS, for example), I think Biden approached it as a debate with a man who would be President. Traditionally, Presidents are (at least on the surface) decent, reasonable people. When Trump just came out with a confident, well articulated string on lies right from the start, it was like someone had slapped Biden in the face. Look at the guy's reaction. He just didn't have a response. Many people have the same respinse when being met by the totally unexpected. "I should have said, I should have done..." is what is said later when the shock is absorbed. Just look at Biden's face. The shock is palpable.
Are you serious? Biden looked the way he did because for the first time in four years he was being asked to think on his feet, without teleprompters and speech writers, and he froze. The guy has dementia, there is nothing deeper than that. And you just say "Trump was lying" but not one Democrat can give a single example. You all just regurgitate the propaganda you are fed, instead of thinking for yourself.
And Biden kept on doing it. It's like neither his short-term nor medium-term memory was functioning.

They ignored the hundreds of public appearances where biden would say gibberish, shake hands with people who werent there, would get disoriented, would speak to dead people as if they were there, would forget who his wife was etc etc. The only reason they now are accepting it has nothing to do with Bidens debate performance. They are accepting it because this is what the media is now pushing out to them rather than merely lying. I witnessed a debate very much like this a couple of years ago at the nursing home I worked at.
It happened while these two octogenarians waited in the dining room for their food to be delivered.
It ended relatively the same as well, one started spouting nonsensical lies and the other had fallen asleep.
The nurses came and took them back to bed.
I was waiting for that to happen for Donny and Joe but, sadly, it didn't.
