- Spaceship Earth is a classic Walt Disney World attraction located at Epcot. This is a full ride pov in beautiful 4K resolution from the Theme Park Shark. We utilized our best low light camera equipment to get these shots for you from Orlando, Florida in January 2020!
Spaceship Earth is the flagship attraction of Epcot and the signature symbol of the park. This ride is located inside the famous "Epcot Ball." In the ride, you will travel back to the dawn of humanity, when early man painted on cave walls. You will watch new ideas spread like wildfire with the invention of Gutenberg’s printing press and more! This ride also features fantastic sound and music!

I remember going on this ride like twice as a little kid and it always stuck with me. It really puts into perspective the story of humanity and the amazing progress we’ve made as a species
Dude we went 13 times sake day wen there is no line u can go over and over
I’ll never forget how magical it is when you go up the room with all of the lights.
@Daniel Brockman the blue star room after the projection of earth
That is my favorite part. The soundtrack is also incredible.
This was always the perfect ride to end the day or just to get out of the heat!
No lol First ride save the best ride for last
You nailed it about the heat. Nice cool and relaxing ride. That's why I love the ride.🙂
This ride used to creep me out with all the animatronics...
Yeah I don’t 5ink you go to Epcot for a daytime
My last ride a week ago. Just made it on at 10:59pm lol. It's that perfect ride for when you're bummed the park is closing but you still get one last bit of magic and relaxation before you go.
Can anyone else smell this ride while watching this
Me
I came here to say this!
They use sulfur for the "Burining Rome" smell.
“Rome falls and the Great Library of Alexandria is burned.” Can smell that perfectly.
yep i can smell it, I WANT TO GO BACK SO BADLY BUT THE F***NG CORRONA VIRUS RUINED EVERYTHING THAT SON OF A B***CH, I WANT THE VACCINE TO BE READY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THIS DARN PANDEMIC ENDS.
This has always been my favorite ride for over 30 years!
@Daniel Brockman me too, love the smells. Did you know they released suffer for the burning rome smell?
Mine too!
I hope it never goes away
You should at least receive 3 credits towards your high school education, for riding this.
Or College.
I learned more in Epcot than I did in school lol
Remember when we were kids and it showed the future and that little girl was skyping with her mom and we thought holy shit!!! Good times.....
@Daniel Brockman you remember that, dont you? That was the best
@@kealynbosrock9905 Yup, video calling, it was crazy.
5:44 I miss turning that corner to a perfectly timed "The theatre was born" narrated by Jeremy Irons
this ride and carousel of progress are two of my favorites, the lines almost never bad.
it would also be the last ride we would do reminds me of getting back to the hotel tired and getting into the pool, miss going wish it wasn’t so expensive
I so love this ride. EPCOT is amazing.
thank you doing this for people like me who cant go to disney keep it up
We’ll keep it coming, Bruce. Appreciate the support
@@ThemeParkShark Can you do A whole tour of her Majesty's theatre in London plus a full show of the musical of The PHANTOM of the OPERA please?
@@jswatch9270 I think he only does ride videos
@@someguy12325 we're gonna have to wait and see.
"The Greeks invented Math" *Bet so if i see a Grecian, its on site*
That’s actually not true-the Egyptians invented mathematics.
John Doe I haven’t watched the video again but didn’t it say that the Grecians invented advanced mathematics?
Brooky Yes. I’m saying that the narrator on the ride is incorrect. But the animatronics are still cool.
John Doe k
All of you are wrong, the Egyptians invented simple mathematics, then the Greeks took those simple calculations and developed it into a more advanced version
"Papyrus in turn creates better record keeping, plans, designs and unfortunately taxes"
lol
lmaoooo i love that line
Plus, he can make great spaghetti 🍝
I grew up in the 70's in California going to Disneyland so My first trip to Disney world in 2015 was Great and This was my favorite ride at EPCOT...
Yep! I remember my first visit like it was yesterday and that was in 2009!
So they called it "Spaceship Earth" because nobody would get on a ride called "The History of Books". :)
There would be even less riders if they called it “The Librarian’s Story”.
Loool
No…?? it’s about the changes of earth dumbass
@@kenzzierr technically, Earth is a planet in our Solar System, part of the Milky Way galaxy. Planets, being purely physical (hence physics) can not care less about the habitants communication methods. Laura’s point was that emphasizing the softer (social science) side of earth (communication history) sounds dull, educational, and non-entertaining by many, unless they “jazz up” the attraction name to something sounding galaxial. I think Laura’s comment was funny and well understood by anybody who has studied communication, and history of information. Not to mention all those professionals who constantly try to break the stereotype that all librarians do is just tell people to shush up.
I know it’s called spaceship earth, but I have always called it the giant golf ball. And it is one of my favorite rides.
It's a real shame that they cut the final two inventions. Realtime video conference calling was a big deal when it finally arrived in the late 2000s, as proven by the current epidemic, and realtime language translation is just barely starting to get within reach. The story of communication doesn't actually end until we solve faster-than light long distance communication and computer-brain I/O, but we're getting closer!
I love spaceship earth. Great ride. In my opinion. It represents EPCOT very well. Great video 🙂👍❤.
this ride is a monument. It should be given landmark status and preserved for all time updating with every new advancement
That was really nice a lot learn about history thanks
I kept waiting for Judi Dench to say, “Look here, Bond...”
you're mission should you choose to accept it is to learn about the history of communication.
YES
ohh so it was Judi Dench speaking?
Great video! The Jeremy Irons version is still my favorite. I wish Disney would’ve left it alone.
Another POV for ya! Enjoy, Shark Squad 🦈
Ok
grew up on this ride the lore is great
i think i have had conflated memories between this and space mountain, at disney in los angeles since i was a child. they were completely separate events basically combined into one memory, as i experienced them at an age too young to fully comprehend which was which. when i went back to disney LA as an adult, it felt like there was something that was off/missing from space mountain. space mountain went through an overhaul that i was aware of at the time, but it still felt like something was off, though i couldnt quite place what it was. i wrote it off as a bad overhaul up until now. but after watching this video it became clear that it was two different events that i misremembered as having happened at the same place and time. i travelled to florida on vacation around age 6, around the same time that i would have first visited disneyland as a child, and i didnt remember the distinction between the two rides and sort of amalgamated them into one cohesive experience. now i want to go back and revisit this ride. it looks very cool and slightly updated from what i remember from the early 2000's.
also i learned late in life that my stepmother played/ plays a major role in the supply of LED lit drapery to disney theme parks. its entirely possible that some of her work was in some way part of the backgrounds to a few of my earliest memories in the form of the starlit backdrops along the corridors of the ride.
Wow. I mixed this one up with carousel of progress. Your idea sounds better than reality.
I know this is titled POV (4K), but it should be titled Better Than Being There. The camera's light capturing ability has to be better than at least my eyes ability to see in there. Also as many times as I have ridden it, I have never better able to clearly understand what the "Extra, Extra" boy is saying. And I have certainly never heard what the guys at the telegraph are saying. Now I know they were talking about the completion of the Trans Continental Railroad being completed in Promontory Point Utah in 1869. Great video, and thanks for sharing.
paul08211973 you’re very welcome! If I made you feel any bit there, I did my job and I appreciate that
the kid yelling trying to sell newspapers over the years has changed, even were he is facing has changed too. While i know morse code, never tried to listen to it. i heard they are sending Walt Disney's opening Disneyland speech
I love this ride, definitely a must ride for every trip
The memories that have been unlocked...
I remember when the ride stopped going up at the beginning where the stars were, and I felt sick to my stomach for some reason...
But once it continued moving I loved it..!
By the way my favorite part of this ride has to be when the Earth shows up and idek why
OMG the same thing happened to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this ride so much it’s like a fever dream
I vividly remember getting stuck on this ride in front of all the humanoid animatronics, I was scared for my life lmao
Worse than death
Same 😭
Finally a video that’s clear and understandable,,, Thank You!!!
I miss the Walter Cronkite version. When you got to the top there was a Apollo capsule and a astronaut floating in space. It was pretty spectacular even when you spun around and saw the other side of the scene as you descended backwards.
@Daniel Brockman Early '90s when I was there. Just look on TH-cam for "1992 Retro Spaceship Earth Walter Cronkite Vintage Version" I could be wrong about the spaceship with the astronaut, but I still like Walter's version better.
I can smell and feel this ride
This ride taught me more than any of my history classes
Hahah totally agree
Yeah same
Spaceship earth is the new history class
You're a complete fool
@@frostedloops more like our education is?
@@frostedloops even the creator of the video agreed with me
I've heard 4 narrators for this. 😊 Worked right in front of it as a Cast Member in '87.
No one asked Mikayla
This is the perfect ride for school kids on a field trip
I've learned more from this ride than my history class.
Me too buddy
Its changed since i last rode it in 1987. lol Blew my young mind, back then.
This was 'History of the entire world, I guess' before it was cool
This Ride is So Much Better than It’s A Small World
THE BEST RIDE EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Love this ride. Nice and relaxing
Happy 50th Anniversary, Walt Disney World!
Happy 50th!!
How in the world did you get audio that good!?!? This is amazing !
Great job with the video! Thanks - it was like being there.
Makes me proud of being Phoenician/Lebanese. Invented ABC’s and the color purple.
@Daniel Brockman You... arent the brightest. Maybe watch the ride again 🤣
This video just gives me this feeling I can’t explain…
same tbh
Great video! Just like you are there. Very good filming!
Looking forward to the updated version! Can't wait to see the story they tell when it's more accurate and more technologically advanced. I'm sure it will be more diverse!
As Tony Baxter said.
If Magic Kingdom is Fantasy made Real.
Epcot is Reality made Fantastic.
Wow what an amazing ride!
This was my favourite ride for the information learned from it better then the education in northern England this ride
This is in Florida, so it really doing a lot of heavy lifting education wise
The soundtrack is so classically Epcot.
In the early 90s, this was one of my to favorite rides! If you've never seen it, it's hard to explain
Just became a member of the shark squad!!!!!! AMAZING ride thank you 😍😍😍 I love history,I'm a nerd!!!!!!🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
Patricia Pritchard welcome to the shark squad!!! Glad to have you here!! 💙🦈💙 - Dustin
Too bad they had to push back the renovation. But this is still a great attraction. Thank you Mr. Shark for the video. 👍🏾✌🏾💯
You’re welcome, Cisco! Thanks for the comment as always
Going to Orlando at the end of the month with my grandson. Gonna hit up Universal, Sea World and Animal Kingdom. Gonna hit up Fun Spot Orlando too if possible. 👍🏾✌🏾
Cisco Duncan awesome I hope you have a great time!
Thank you sir. Be careful and stay healthy.
Considering that with each renovation comes a new narrator, we probably won’t have Judi Dench in the new version. On that note, who do you think would be a decent narrator for the upcoming version? I personally think that it would be amusing if they had someone from Doctor Who do the job, like David Tennant or Christopher Eccleston!
This ride needs an update but I loved it.
I gotta tell you the seats are small and tight. It was like riding in a radio flyer wagon when you were a kid it was so small.
But very much fun and informative.
One of my fav dark rides
Remember how easy it was to learn your ABC’s? Thank the Phoenicians, they invented them!
Avery the Cuban-American love it
I thank the phonecians every day. 🙂👍❤
What!? That is amazing
My fav line from the ride
Everything about it is amazing
Ahhhh memories
People! Without masks! The good old days... I sure miss this version of Disney. 🥰
it is definitely an old video
Well we could go back to normal if people would STOP treating covid like it’s the damn plague. It’s an aggressive flu. That’s it. We just need to get exposed already to develop herd immunity. That means enough with the social distancing, quarantine and being forced to wear masks. It shouldn’t be treated any differently than all the other DEADLIER diseases and viruses that we have because it really is nowhere near as deadly as they claim it is. So once again when people actually come to their senses and realize that it’s a damn flu(just an aggressive form) and get back to normal then everything will be ok and we can get back to living our lives again. Before anyone calls me a Karen or gripes me out about covid needs to realize that media has been giving nothing but FALSE info on covid. Hospitals and doctors are being paid to claim higher covid cases and deaths(been proven multiple times). Most people survive and get over covid. Fauci has been WRONG on every one of his predictions about covid. It’s been around back in Nov. and yet we were fine, no high death rates, overwhelmed hospitals, no high cases, etc. etc. Cases are only going up because for one thing hospitals are claiming the numbers are higher when in fact they aren’t and two we were forced to shut down and quarantine therefore we weren’t around each other but now we are so it makes sense for the numbers to go back up. Like I said, the only way to get numbers to go down is to develop herd immunity by getting everyone exposed so we can build up a healthy immune system and antibodies. Sick people need to take precautions by wearing a mask and whatnot if they feel more comfortable doing that but everyone else just needs to get back to normal already. It’s a virus people and NOT the plague. Stop acting so afraid of this already.
@@sarahprince2412 wow. This is a pretty aggressive response. I think I need to clarify - I was posting in jest about people not wearing masks. I believe that Covid is harmless for the most part and I do not look at Fauci as anything but a guy standing to make big money off the vaccines he recommends.
I think you really misunderstood my comment.
@@Amy-hj1qb I wasn’t trying to sound aggressive. Sorry about that. I just want everyone to realize that we shouldn’t be afraid of covid. I’m sick and tired of the media and the hospitals and doctors(I worked in the medical field) giving so much false information and scaring people. I’m tired of everyone acting so afraid of this damn flu because that’s really what it is. It just spreads faster and there’s upper respiratory issues that go with it. But like I stated, most people survive covid and we will only get the numbers down and get over it faster if we just get exposed to it and develop herd immunity. A vaccine probably won’t be around for a few years. We can’t do all these measures forever. It’s just time to get back to normal already. Your comment was sooo true though. Once again wasn’t trying to sound aggressive. I’m just over this craziness and want to get back to normal.
@@sarahprince2412 couldn’t agree more. My health is my responsibility. I don’t need the government assessing risk factors for me or my family. The sooner we accept the .0003% mortality rate the sooner we can burn these stupid masks and get on with life. Staying home is only delaying the spread. Not stopping it.
I’m as fed up as you are. 😉
There is no better feeling than skipping the line with the fast pass like a bad ass
Love it haha
Wow what a great video, looks so good in the dark. What are you shooting with ??
I always enjoy this ride
I loved this ride never rode it b4 r been wdw but I have seen it online.
I miss this rides, stupid COVID I’m so mad this year sucked
now someone take some clips of this and make a video with the star trek: enterprise theme.
This ride always slightly creeped me out lmao, especially 6 years ago when I went to Disney (I was 9)
Super Excellent Video. I been there the first week of march 2020, just in time before de Pandemic closing. What camera and lens you used? The video is super sharp and neat.
Just stopping in at 7:08 to say hello to ol’ garlic head
Nice!
One of our favorite rides!
i am very impressed with the camera you used.. may i ask which one? i have never gotten the beginning scene of the cave people trying to kill that Mastedon. either didnt focus properly or was too dark. I had older cameras that were low light, but did black and white only. i have a new cheap 4k camera that is IR, but also has ir lights, which the CM's think are regular lights on their displays, and yell at me over the speakers to turn it off.
Is that Dame Judy Dench doing the voice over?
This was filmed before Covid?
Matt Rost I would hope so
really sucks that the library of alexandria burned down but man does it make for an amazing smell on this ride
once you get on your stuck for 14 minutes of school but as a ride.
Cool ride!
Gabriel A. Thank you!
I was today years old when I found out this was a ride
I want to go back to Disney :(
Nice work 👍🏼
do you build a house in this attraction? my friend is trying to me convince that you build a house, and i just can’t remember. thanks!
Why does Judi refer to the fall of Rome when going through the burning of the library of Alexandria scene? Unless they are speaking of the fall of the Roman Republic to Caesar during the civil war, which gave rise to the Roman Empire. Yes, Caesar set the docks on fire and in doing so burned some of the library. But the library certainly survived. And the Roman empire went on the prosper for centuries. During the Roman empire, Pope Theophilus of Alexandria destroyed some scrolls when converting the Roman serapeum into a Christian church but I don't think he burned it down. The only other instance of the library burning (complete destruction) was in 640 AD by Omar long after Rome had fallen. By the time Rome fell the major works in the library would have become redundant, would they not? Also, there was not one central destruction in which all these works were destroyed, the library was left to degrade for centuries after Caesar set it aflame. Not really sure what Judi was thinking with this. It seems like this whole script was used to perpetuate some long romanticized version of history based on dubious claims. Where all of humanity's great works were lost in a blaze and thus we (humans) were set back hundreds of years. Sad to think of how many children a year listen to this twisted mangled forgery.
Sidenote: Mr. Irons is not innocent either in this grand falsification, his little tale is much more egregious to history than Judi's. The fall of the library of Alexandria led to the Dark Ages ... good one. Mickey Mouse history lessons at Epcot, so pathetic.
when I was on this it kept breaking down that I was abt to cry this ride was so scary
Is this ride inside of that dome?
Yes it’s inside the big golf ball. 😂
Dark rides with animatronics creep me out!
Is that Judi Dench narrating?
Is that narrator Judi Dench?
Yes
I thought I recognized that voice!
Love It
Does your logo have to appearance all the time and be so huge?
unfortunately
When I went it stopped like 6 times
I rode this as a child it scared me because I was kind of claustrophobic and I didn’t like how steep it was
When will they update it and get all the new stuff happening in life?
gof bball my favite ride
If that was really happened that would be a great ride! What happened to the floods we had all over and the giant beings that built the really old buildings
What camera did you use to record the ride?
Holy shit what camera is this?
Saved the Minuscule
Is that Dame Judi Dench narrating?
