The writers didn't know what to do with Bree. It wasn't the actresses fault but they mostly threw her in as 'girl' where as Leo, Chase, and Adam were written with personalities that weren't just a gender. Whatever they thought was a funny girl plotline was assigned to Bree.
So fun fact 1. For anyone who never seen the show, Donald actually save the trio from his evil younger brother, who later become a good guy 2. There is a TH-cam channel that did 3 hour plus long video on lab rat, mighty med & elite force
the story was good up until S4, after the Victor crane saga, the show grinded to a slow and painful ending (although tbf I did like Giselle) I didn't like Daniel Davenport
The plot of this story is actually very intricate. (Spoiler if you haven't watched this show from 2012) Sometime in the middle of the show it's revealed that Donald has a younger brother, Douglas, who is actually the one who's responsible for Adam Bree and Chase. Essentially Davenport was a joint project that specialized in bionics that would allow robots to do jobs humans couldn't, but Douglas took the technology and implemented it into the genetically engineered kids and was planning to sell them. Donald in response to this took Adam Bree and Chase and decided to train them to help people, and keeps them in the basement in hopes that Douglas won't find them. There's also another plot where a guy named "Victor Crane" who Douglas was definitely dating at some point but it's 2012 so they're too afraid to admit it genetically engineers a thousand more bionic kids to try and enslave the world. And he comes back at the end of the series with another guy and tried to put bionics into Donalds space colonists after blowing up the world with a nuke.
I remember Leo gets his arm stuck under rubble when attacked by Victor and Douglas outfits him with a bionic enhancement. Leo was bummed out bcuz at first it didn't have any weapons and Douglas eventually relents. Also Big Bro Tyler James Williams stars as Future Leo in the time travel episode.
@itsanoformedawg yeah, like the whole reason they were kept secret was that they were special, and now theres like a hundred of them with the same powers? Hell i didnt mind leo getting the bionic arm cause they gave a excuse, his orginal arm was fucking destroyed and that whole thing could have lead to some really touching and dark moments, where leo had to learn to accept his new arm and the fact that he still has phantom pains and sometimes he wakes up at night screaming, it could have led to a moral of "just cause someone has something missing doesnt mean they arnt human" it really could have humanized multiple charatere, the idea of leo loosing the orginal arm could have been a touchy subject for a good portion of the season because well that just happened, instead of a well thought out family dynamics of the kids and parents having to help leo readjust to life with a new appendage and all the problems that comes with said new appendage like having to control it, figure out the weakness, get him used to it, and other stuff im not knowlagble of cause i thankfully still have all my limbs, we instead got a whole lotta charaters that make the orginal cast seem obsolete now sense they do what they but much greater numbers, we got that instead of a season which could have been all about helping leo with trauma because most other times if i remember correctly he didnt really get any actual damage done to him, the one time he did? He lost his arm, which could be to Daven Port and his brother helping the kids realize leo is in a state of pure vulnerability, and he's gonna need time to readjust, also the bully character? It would have been great to see a new bully try to bully leo about the arm and him to actually defend him and him revealing that whilst he's a bully he's a bully with standards and he dont bully people about disabilities, hell he could have become a sorta frenemy like bufford or something, a person who'll rag on leo and co but only he and his posse can do that anyone else gets a beating
@theenderdestruction2362 it seemed so weird to make all of these people special, their identities out there, best part of the show for me was perry when she found out and everything she did prior to that, she's freaking hilarious, but now we focus on all of these new characters do8ng stuff. It worked best when things were more grounded and centered. My favorite eps by far were the future Leo stories, and those season ending episodes as well. As some point they'd raise the bar too high, and honestly i think show should've just ended entirely no spin off. Keep it ambiguous and move on.
Leo is like the only relatable character despite the cringeness. And let's praise Tasha for dealing with theses weirdos for like 3 season (think it was three, been a while since I watched this💀)
Tasha was way too entitled. She literally wanted to destroy her husbands life work because she did not like it. Imagine now if the roles were reversed. Heavens forbid that a man would even dare to ask a woman to throw away her life work!
This was one of those shows on Disney XD that I watched *religiously* as a kid. Even when the writting was garbage you could tell the actors were clearly having fun and it just *elevated* the material.
I just wasted a solid 20 minutes to find you, ive come to inform you that a bot stole your comment, and a good majority of people actually think its a real person. sadly there's not much we can do to combat this, so have my like.
I loved this show!! I hate the spin off show, but this and Mighty Med were awesome!! Also Alex needs to watch the two part special in season 2 with Dougles kidnapping Donald and them fighting Marcus for a lot of this to make sense to him.
I like this show and a lot of the characters, but I hate how no one ever gets comeuppance for the vast amount of abuse. There's a lot the first episode doesn't even begin to cover, like how Chase is basically the scapegoat of the family and is always expected to be the bigger person despite Adam using him as his personal punching bag.
I mean it is a children's show so I don't think the creators or actors deeped it that much. It's played for laughs and brothers teasing/fighting. And in the later seasons Chase stands up for himself and fights back, especially as Spike
@@alizatheweirdo6040 do you think that Chase had done the right thing telling Sebastian about Krane since the truth about Krane could have come out anyway even if Chase didn’t tell Sebastian about Krane Chase was betrayed by Sebastian and Reece In lab rats Elite Force.

Y’all both need to watch it! It’s so good! The first few episodes may be a bit weird but as the show goes on it really finds itself and you can’t help but love Big D and Leo as you get to know them
I love lab rats, also you forgot to mention that Big D didn’t make Adam, Bri, and Chase. His brother did. They also have a 4th brother named David and a dead robot brother and I can’t remember his name. Also Eddie is probably the best character of the whole school, by far
"I wanna see the pyramids!" "I wanna go to Paris!" "I wanna go upstairs." shit makes me cackle also always made me sad that we didn't see more of Leo and Adam in elite force. i swear they just forgot about them
I just started rewatching this show and I have MANY thoughts but the one thing that will always bug me is that they didn't explain how the lab rats came to be. Do they have a mother? Douglas created them in a lab but how??
The implication is they are completely lab created. If there is mother or mothers, it either a donation of an egg or genetic material. It's a Disney XD show, this is a man who can create perfect human robot replicas overnight. It's not realism. 😅
They were adopted, so whoever their mother is is unknown. Davenport's brother found them as babies and gave them the bionic chips, hoping to turn them into weapons. Davenport stole the babies and raised them as superheroes.
@@pearlsandgrapes no they weren't adopted, he made them in test tubes, probably got some kind of egg donor or something, they said it in season 4, plus they said he "created them"
Man I loved this show so much when I was a kid! I was homeschooled for most of my life, so I lived vicariously through the basement nerds with no social skills.
Honestly i grew up with this show so there is prolly some nostalgia here, but i think this is one of the best shows you can watch as a kid or even as a teen really. Yes,it can be goofy at times, but then there are some AMAZING episodes like the one where the whole crew went on against a bionic army or the one where they had to face Marcus. Really amazing show imo and i really recommend you watch the Bionic Army episode as well as the Marcus episode, just so you can see how the show progressed
The bionic trio must also have the power of avoiding severe cabin fever. Fourteen years always around each other, not even their own rooms, and confined to a small space. No wonder they wanted to be in a different environment.
It never occurred to me that Disney XD was meant for boys. I really thought they were just trying to cater to a brand of “cool kid” tweens who felt that normal Disney was lame or something 😂 the more you know
It’s funny because in middle school (mid 2010s) Lab Rats was way more popular with girls than boys lol. I’m a girl and loved the show back then. Also in elementary school I loved Disney channel but in middle school I loved Disney XD, I thought Disney Channel was for kids and Disney XD for tweens and younger teens, sorta like Disney’s version of teen Nick or something. Idk, I think most gendered things are useless and just do what I want

I can't believe you just NOW did Lab Rats. I was binge watching your videos a few weeks back while I was working, and I actually searched your channel looking for Lab Rats, and it wasn't there! I was shocked. Thanks for the new vid.
I can't even tell you how many times I rewatched this entire show. In fact I remember there was a short time where my family was like marginally short on money and we had to cancel one of our cable packages, the only channel in that package that any of us watched was Disney XD. And this was right after that lab rats season 2 finale cliffhanger and I was so frickin upset
That new husband guy...He is a monster. Seeing how the show has a ton of nostalgia, I imagine it is great and all. But just thinking about it for a minute. That guy is a literal maniac.
Just realized that’s Hal Sparks. Who is a fairly minor comedian, he was the guy in the elevator in Spider-Man 2, but I remember him from VH1’s “I love the…” series.
Just realized that Donald Davenport isn’t too different from Dr. Brenner from stranger things. They both created kids with superpowers. They both kept said kids locked up, isolated from the rest of the world for a big part of their lives to train them. Only Donald Davenport keeps the kids in his basement instead of a big lab-building, doesn’t have as many guards and other staff, actually bothers to give them names and is (at least not that we’ve seen) as sadistic.
I will admit, while not as perfect as kid me remembers it, this show was still hella funny and it does get better as it goes along. In the last two seasons, there are these two characters who become a lot more prominent (I'm not gonna name them cause spoilers) but they become some of my favourites in the entire show, they're so goddamn hilarious. The show also does get a bit more mature, In the final season, they're on an island and they need to learn things like responsibility and growing up. It's really cool stuff *they also do some really dumb stuff but don't worry about that right now) If it's any consolation to you not being a fan of the series, they get rid of the wise cracking AI bot like 2 seasons in.
The issue I have with lab rats is one it was well after my time of interests for it and 2 reality tells me alot of scientists that go into that field of study tend to abuse their subjects in some non friendly Disney ways that just tell me that those are just abused children that probably need counseling.
I’ve discussed it before, but Lab Rats has remained one of my favorite Disney TV sitcoms for a while because the humor was actually not that bad. Hal Sparks (actor for Donald) definitely carried most of the comedy, and I just had an affinity for all the technological concepts presented, even if most of them were referencing concepts introduced in other shows/franchises. Brief spoilers for Elite Force below if you actually wanna watch it, but chances are the taste may be bitter. It disappoints me what Elite Force was in terms of basically ignoring most of what made Mighty Med, well, Mighty Med. Nowadays, I give the exclusion of Leo and Adam a pass since Jackson Williams and Spencer Boldman - their respective actors - were undergoing physical problems from their work; so yeah, still sad, but completely understandable - health comes first. But I don’t think the creators did their homework, and given how Lab Rats and Mighty Med have crossed over before WHILE MAINTAINING MIGHTY MED’S CONTINUITY, it’s baffling how the success and knowledge of THAT crossover special didn’t carry over to the idea of a full crossover series. And don’t get me wrong, the middling ratings of Elite Force because of those problems (and the fact not many had access to Disney XD) kinda add up as to why it ended on a complete cliffhanger, but despite the poor effort, they were clearly building up to something a _little_ worth our time - they might as well have finished it. As a kid, I kept checking my guide constantly wondering when it would happen. And after like two years of waiting, probably speculating that maybe they’re making the finale a big movie-type deal, I find it was canceled. The concept was already there from the crossover special they did, it could’ve been something monumental. If I had to defend it in one aspect, if you ignore some of the CGI used in it, the theme song slaps.
The reason it failed was because it was too much like Lab Rats and they had ruined most of the characters from Mighty Med as well. Plus some of the actors acting issues were glaringly obvious without some of the others to cover it up. Also, while mighty med was a good show they didn’t really do anything interesting with its concept and it fell flat for some parts of the show
I used to watch Disney XD all of the time and this was one of the shows that would play a lot. I remember loving this show. Principal Perry was the goat
literally described this show to a kid on my school bus yesterday and my bus driver overheard and said “that’s a kid show that is?” this show was insane 💀 edit: to make things worse, these aren’t even his kids, he kidnapped them from his brother 😭
I was OBSESSED with this show like Omg! I think younger me loved the family aspect with Adam, Bree, Chase, Leo and Mr Davenport- with the whole being faced with choices that test their relationships and they choose each other over and over again. Also it was a cool concept in general and I actually loved the humour- like PRINCIPAL PERRY and her comedic timing and dialogue and character was just 10/10. Some jokes I agree are cringey but to me it’s part of its charm. I grew up watching it though as it was being released so I think nostalgia plays into this for me
Genuine thanks for making me remember Lab Rats existed (I once stumbled upon Elite Force in Netflix and watched it for a while, but it's been years since then and I never even knew that it was only a spin-off to begin with). Today I finished binge-watching all the 4 seasons, along with Mighty Med's 2 and Lab Rats: Elite Force again, and I had a BLAST! I laughed more than I thought I would and some of its emotional moments really stung (for a Disney show). Tbh, I think Lab Rats and Mighty Med (but especially the first one) just became some of my favorite sitcoms ever. They also made me aware of all these other Disney shows that I watched so long ago that I don't really remember them anymore, so I think I'm boutta go on a sitcom-frenzy for the next few weeks...

Living on a bionic island was where it was at tho 😎
@Nazza
Nooooo, I hated when they changed it to that, "LIVING IN MY BASEMENT" was it all
Every childhood show he thinks is crazy it’s a masterpiece for me
This one

This show was an *ESSENTIAL* part of my upbringing. If Alex doesn’t like this one, it’s gonna hit hard 😂

Yeah same
If you remember the "everybody hates chris" actor who played chris, his brother plays the main character here.
Fr tho
Same legit was my childhood
So fun fact
1. For anyone who never seen the show, Donald actually save the trio from his evil younger brother, who later become a good guy
2. There is a TH-cam channel that did 3 hour plus long video on lab rat, mighty med & elite force
bro 1. is just a major plot spoiler. lol

Lab rats is one of these shows that have the most crazy story but still makes it good
the story was good up until S4, after the Victor crane saga, the show grinded to a slow and painful ending (although tbf I did like Giselle)
I didn't like Daniel Davenport
The plot of this story is actually very intricate.
(Spoiler if you haven't watched this show from 2012)
Sometime in the middle of the show it's revealed that Donald has a younger brother, Douglas, who is actually the one who's responsible for Adam Bree and Chase.
@@Boss_IsaacI remember that after that I just stoped watching and when I returned I realized there was way to many bionics and everything was wacky
@@theenderdestruction2362yup. After the big change, it killed the entire franchise.
And let's praise Tasha for dealing with theses weirdos for like 3 season (think it was three, been a while since I watched this💀)
It was three because for the fourth they move to the island
Tasha was way too entitled. She literally wanted to destroy her husbands life work because she did not like it.
Imagine now if the roles were reversed. Heavens forbid that a man would even dare to ask a woman to throw away her life work!
My favorite line from lab eats is when the tall guy (forgot their names) said to the smart one. “Do I look like i was born tomorrow?”
Btw Adam is the tall one and chase is the smart one
And Bree is the fast one
Lab Rats and Mighty Med were probably my favorite Disney XD shows growing up. I loved the crossovers they had.
I was so hyperfixated on this show in elementary school, I used to IRL roleplay with my friends at school as the characters 😭😭😭😭
Leo’s “his wAT” is perfection 😂
I loved this show!! I hate the spin off show, but this and Mighty Med were awesome!! Also Alex needs to watch the two part special in season 2 with Dougles kidnapping Donald and them fighting Marcus for a lot of this to make sense to him.
I legit thought that would be the one he would be watching
Did you watch elite force?
@GTD yes I watched it when it was running
@@olicityfan1150 Did you like it?
@@gtd5626 no I thought it was bad
I like this show and a lot of the characters, but I hate how no one ever gets comeuppance for the vast amount of abuse. There's a lot the first episode doesn't even begin to cover, like how Chase is basically the scapegoat of the family and is always expected to be the bigger person despite Adam using him as his personal punching bag.
I know, right? And he's like God to the point where he could be president of like three states and leave this hellish family, but he chooses to stay
I mean it is a children's show so I don't think the creators or actors deeped it that much. It's played for laughs and brothers teasing/fighting. And in the later seasons Chase stands up for himself and fights back, especially as Spike
@@alizatheweirdo6040 ok so 😐
@@alizatheweirdo6040 do you think that Chase had done the right thing telling Sebastian about Krane since the truth about Krane could have come out anyway even if Chase didn’t tell Sebastian about Krane Chase was betrayed by Sebastian and Reece In lab rats Elite Force.
The best part of every Disney show is that it allows you to know everyone who did and didn't grow up with siblings around their age by what level of rivalry they consider "abuse."
I remember watching this show like crazy while growing. Idk how I loved it as much as I did.
I have such fond memories of the one summer holiday my sister and I discovered you could look up the tv guide online to find out precisely when Lab Rats would be showing, and we watched it nearly every day. Probably the only Disney tv show I actually watched and liked
as a younger fella, i enjoyed this show a lot. i go back to it every year, & watch at least one episode. the older i get the more wacky it is, but still the comedy always held up, it was a show that i felt like most of the characters were very enjoyable, & i enjoyed the storyline. it's still one of my favorite disney tv shows.
The guy that plays Davenport is hilarious! He has his own talk show right now on TH-cam. Worth checking out
For me honestly when i watch the Lab Rats show a few years ago when things got more action packed, fun and has the best laughs ever for more life then i somehow missed it when i tried watching the Lab Rats Elite Force but nothing i feel speechless to this point and thanks for sharing this Alex Meyers
For a disney Channel show, the special effects of their powers (and not only) were pretty dope
Lab Rats is probably one of the DisneyXD shows I didn't mind repeating.
I’ve never watched this show but 4:39 got an unironic laugh out of me 😂
I’ve only ever seen small parts of the show, so I never understood what was happening, but the main plot of the whole thing is wild 😭😩
Same for me. I didn't know what was happening, but the actors seemed to be having a ball doing it
Y’all both need to watch it! It’s so good! The first few episodes may be a bit weird but as the show goes on it really finds itself and you can’t help but love Big D and Leo as you get to know them
I frickin LOVED this show so much and that robot had me crying laughing all the time
I love lab rats, also you forgot to mention that Big D didn’t make Adam, Bri, and Chase. His brother did. They also have a 4th brother named David and a dead robot brother and I can’t remember his name. Also Eddie is probably the best character of the whole school, by far
*Daniel is the 4th brother and the dead one is named Marcus 😉 you're welcome
Hi
"I wanna see the pyramids!"
"I wanna go to Paris!"
"I wanna go upstairs."
shit makes me cackle
also always made me sad that we didn't see more of Leo and Adam in elite force. i swear they just forgot about them
The fact that theirs an episode where Tasha is the scientist and Donald is just normal
I just started rewatching this show and I have MANY thoughts but the one thing that will always bug me is that they didn't explain how the lab rats came to be. Do they have a mother? Douglas created them in a lab but how??
Test tubes, so they have a mother but i guess theyll never meet her
They mentioned genetic engineering, but I don't know how that stuff works
This, and liv and Maddy, were the only Disney shows I watched as a kid. This show was my childhood, and I’m glad Alex’s didn’t trash it too much
Honestly i grew up with this show so there is prolly some nostalgia here, but i think this is one of the best shows you can watch as a kid or even as a teen really.
Terry and Eddie were my two favorite characters on the show and they weren’t even around that much that shows how funny they were
I’m shocked that Alex Meyers didn’t do this 3-5 years ago
Why was the “i wanna go upstairs” actually funny to me. Just didnt expect that & the line delivery too 💀😂
The bionic trio must also have the power of avoiding severe cabin fever.
Idk, I think most gendered things are useless and just do what I want
i always thought disney xd was for skateboarders 😂

i still watch this show to this day and while yeah there is a ton of laugh tracks (like an ungodly amount of laugh tracks in the most random places) i absolutely love the show
This is one of the best Disney shows of all time. It'll forever have a special place in my heart
"For 30 grand I'll go away" felt that
i seriously forgot about this show. but seriously, as an 8 year old, this show was literally my favorite. yeah the writings horrible, the jokes are cheesy, but as an 8 year old who doesn’t understand anything or care this was such a good show. seriously i gotta rewatch this.
One of my favorite shows ever its nostalgic and entertaining
“I know you’re mad Big D”

I forgot he was called that 😂
You know that it’s gonna be good when there is a character named Adam 💀
so accurate lol
Alex Meyers and The Cosmonaut Variety Hours are one of those guys whose none of videos felt gratuitous 💥
"I've always dreamed about going school! Passing notes, going to Prom, breaking into choreographed dance numbers after math class"
As someone who was homeschooled & didn't go out much, I can confirm that's exactly what kids who don't go to school think it's like
Points for realism 👍
A scientist that creates three children with superpowers in his basement... I feel like Cartoon Network covered this premise already, though I don't remember Utonium marrying a single mother.
I still remember this show and I love the characters and the story arcs in the show! It’s one of my favorite shows of all time and my second favorite Disney XD show! It’s pretty awesome! 1:55 for sponsor skip!
I can't believe you just NOW did Lab Rats. I was binge watching your videos a few weeks back while I was working, and I actually searched your channel looking for Lab Rats, and it wasn't there! I was shocked. Thanks for the new vid.
Leo’s shirts are pretty cool. I’d totally wear that comic book and dog shirt.
This show was my entire childhood. Ive been waiting for this for so long
Just realized that Donald Davenport isn’t too different from Dr.
It's really cool stuff *they also do some really dumb stuff but don't worry about that right now)
If it's any consolation to you not being a fan of the series, they get rid of the wise cracking AI bot like 2 seasons in.
What's crazy is that Billy Unger (Chase) was already a Father irl before the 1st episode
Also, while mighty med was a good show they didn’t really do anything interesting with its concept and it fell flat for some parts of the show
Shows me just how funny this was😹😹Leo's scream still gets me
I used to watch Disney XD all of the time and this was one of the shows that would play a lot. I remember loving this show. Principal Perry was the goat

I'll say this, this is one of the few live action teen superhero shows that's actually pretty decent.
