I was having trouble with spinach seeds, nothing was sprouting, but as usual you came to my rescue!. Thank you so much for all you share with us. You are wonderful 🌿
I wasted quite a few spinach seeds before looking for this video out of frustration. I now have plenty. It also worked for outdoor planting as well. I transferred my seedlings into soil. Thank you!
Hello! Love your Aerogarden videos. Before I bought our's in December, I watched a bunch of your videos. Great stuff! I tried growing spinach from seed a few times, but with no luck, but I used your method here, and now have 3 very nice spinach plants. Thanks for the great content!
When I start spinach seeds 4 outside garden I put the seeds on a wet paper towel as u do, put in a ziplock bag and place in fridge for 5 or 6 days and then plant..works everytime. It tricks them into thinking they have been winter'ed over I suppose. One time I left in for about 3 weeks bc of distractions in life and the whole paper towel took on a life of its own, lol. They were woven through the towel so I just tore the towel in a few pieces and threw then in the garden and covered lightly..it worked fine.
Your's is one of the best channels on TH-cam & I look forward to watching all your videos! I have fought many losing battles w/ spinach seeds, but after watching this video I feel ready for another try. Thanks.
I TOO FOUGHT A LOSING BATTLE WITH SPINACH SEEDS... 🙈 I AM HOPEFUL AFTER WATCHING THIS MANS VIDEO... HE TAKES HIS TIME, SHOWING EVERY DETAIL- AND FOR THAT I'M GRATEFUL! ❤ JUST FINISHED HARVESTING THE REMAINDER OF AERO GARDENS "SUPER FOOD MICROGREENS" (not a favorite!! ).. GOING TO USE THAT BOUNTY ELITE... GOING TO PUT DRY SEEDS INTO THE AG GROW SPONGE, AND BLACK DOMES OVER THE TOP(I COLORED THE CLEAR DOMES WITH AN EXTRA LG BLACK MAGIC MARKER). THIS SHOULD GIVE THE SEEDS A FEEL OF BEING IN THE GROUND.. LOL. 😁
Thank you so much for showing us the paper towel method. I was about to throw out a large bag of kale seeds but I tried this method and two seeds germinated. Yaaay!
I'm so glad I found your video before I started. I was going to just place the seeds into the pods but now I'll use your method to germinate them first. Thank you!
I started my aerogarden because I love spinach. I buy tons of spinach and wanted to try and grow some of my own. It’s been two months with different methods and I haven’t gotten almost anything to happen. I just barely realized that I bought a sponge that was too dense and my ONE GOOD spinach was not growing through the sponge. It was pushing itself out completely. What sponges are your favorite to use for spinach??? I’ll be puncturing holes in my sponges when I get home and try some of the germinated seeds I currently have. My success rate has been low so far. Can’t wait to finally get something growing.

Thank you so much for your kind words, and supporting my passion towards experiment with Aerogardening and share the results. You support always motivates me big time.
Hello! You wrote that the temperature near your Aerogardens is always between 60 and 70 Fahrenheit. How do you keep the temperature between 60 and 70 Fahrenheit? Do you put ice in the water or do you use a portable air cooler, or something else?
Hi, the daily outside temperature where I live is mostly below 60° F year round. So, I set up my heater at 65 so the temperature stays between 60 and 70. There are cases where the outside temperature goes above 70 for 2 (or max 3) months and I add a fan during that time.
Question: Can you put a lid on the jar with water that you are soaking your seeds in for 48 hours, or does the container have to remain open? Thank You for your informative videos!
You can put the lid if you want to block any dust or debris, but please do not put the airtight lid. It needs airflow even though the seeds are submerged.
Wow, love your video, i tried to do a spinach but never germinate at all, maybe because its an old seeds, Is this kind of spinach good for summer days? we have a 2 season only dry and wet, is this crap good in sunny day?
Once the seeds have been placed in the baggie to sprout, where is the best place to put them? In a dark place, or near the AeroGarden with its lights on? Thank You!
Dark and warm place is ideal. I just leave it on top of Aerogarden light panel. That won't be the dark place, but the light panel is always warm and it helps boost the germination. I am getting very good results keeping the bagggie on the Aerogarden light panel.
@@aerogardenexperiments Excellent! I was thinking a same thing about putting the baggie on top of my coffee maker. However, the AeroGarden stays on much longer. Thank You!
Great video! How did the Spinach taste? I've read online that sometimes spinach can taste *bitter* if grown in a hydroponic garden, especially if *not* grown between 63-70 degrees Thanks for posting the video! :)
It tastes very good. My experience is the other way. I usually see the darker spinach on the bitter side but this one tastes like baby spinach. It's pretty good.
Thank you so much for this information! I'm thinking about getting an Aerogarden mostly for spinach and watercress. I'm scouting for information on what the yield is like. I use about a cup of baby spinach leaves per day and a cup of watercress maybe every other day, and am wondering if it's worth using an Aerogarden needing that amount.
If you want one cup of spinach every single day, I recommend you to start spinach in at least 2 Aerogarden Harvests with full of spinach pods. Start the second garden with one week delay. One more thing is, Spinach is a short crop (irrespective of the variety) and it goes up to a month and half so you need to start over the gardens once they start to bolt. To get a cup of watercress every other day, one Aerogarden Harvest with full of watercress pods will be sufficient. Whether it is worth or not has so many perspectives, but in my opinion, it is 100% worth for me because it is impossible to get fresh greens unless I go to a farm and harvest the greens myself. So, for any greens, it is totally worth growing them in Aerogarden or any hydroponics system.
An article i read advised to keep the pack of seeds in the refridgerator for 1 week prior to planting in the aerogarden. By any chance did you try that?
@@aerogardenexperiments Have you had a chance to try this? I'm getting ready to plant my spinach, and was wondering if this will help. They've been in the fridge since i last wrote.
I get almost 100% germination rate when I use the paper towel method with some water and food grade hydrogen peroxide. Spinach seeds are always germinated😊

Interesting... Pods will always be wet in Aerogarden since the water flows over the pods every 1 hour and sponges absorb enough water. I agree with soaking sponges for other gardens like iDoo, etc. in which water doesn't flow over the sponges.

Very good. It's been a full month and my spinach is just bursting out of the seeds in the pods. I'll try your best way, next time.
