- The Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed al-Maktoum is one of the five richest monarchs in the world with a fortune of 18 billion dollars. But by the number of wives he is out of competition. The most famous of them, Princess Haya, escaped from the monarch along with her children in 2019. And this is not the only scandalous episode in the life of the sheikh's wives. But why spouses and even children didn't get along with the wealthy sheikh? And how many wives did he really have? We will tell you about it in detail in this video.

Princess Haya is sister of King Abdullah of Jordan, as opposed to some of the other wives who did not have that kind of connections, and that surely played a role on her succesful escape to the UK, as her brother protects her and gave her a diplomatic position so she could get a resident visa.
And The King of Jordan is also a kind man. He doesn't use his money or power to threaten people. He is the only King who can bridge the gap between Arabs and Europeans.

I remember being so angry with him in the early 1990s for - as I saw it then - fence-sitting over Saddam, when we'd assumed him to be pro-western. Looking back, he took his position most wisely; being well-aware of the role that even undesirable figures like Saddam had (and as we saw later, Gadaffi), in helping to keep the region stable. Time proved his wisdom when the West became increasingly embroiled in the region - leading to the shocking mess we've seen over the past 20-something years. That he picked Abdullah to inherit from him was another wise action. News reports back then seemed to indicate his brother the Crown Prince would inherit - or his son by his most recent wife, Queen Noor. But Abdullah has proved his father's faith in him was entirely justified.

Haya is a real royal from the kingdom of Jordan, is very educated, has strong ties to the British Royal family, that is why she used the Royal high court for divorce, and made the best deal for her divorce! She was very smart and kept her children.

For the young man who was not offically recognized by his father because his mother was a Christian and he grew up with his mom, this is not such a bad thing. If he had grown up with his father he might be dead or threatened in some way.......The Dubai ruler may have all this money but that doesn't mean his children have it and many he treats terribly......What is the use in having money if you don't have freedom?

Princess Haya is a lovely person. I saw her every week when she lived in Ireland as a student and was being coached in showjumping by the late Paul Darragh.

I personally think the Greek Woman was the smartest. She made it clear she was not relying on his finances, to raise her daughter. She gave her daughter freedom to choose as well. It appears his most trusted wife, "Hind bin Maktoum" was most familiar with cultural expectations. This appears to be a very important factor. I'm fairly certain there are many obligations involved with marrying at this level. I doubt that any of these women were not aware of them.

@@salimd7842 I agree. I am European and I think that any King that can build a city like Dubai from a vast desert full of sand should be at least admired for his creativity and vision. As for his personal life, it is their personal life. No one except for them know the reason for their divorces, and they know the conditions of marriage before accepting his ring.

Oh so thankful that I grew up In Australia with the freedom to choose who I married and whether I could drive or travel alone. I probably would have been stoned to death as a teenager for my rebellious behaviour and certainly would never have married anyone of my parents choosing, let alone tolerate any interference from them. I do not agree with how he treated his first wife, but he is Muslim and she is not. For his daughters, some were rebellious, he did everything to keep them from harm, but that is the path they took. They are adults now and can make their own choices. He is a powerful, beautiful man, and his children and grandchildren adore him. God bless him and his family.

Princess Latifa was tortured in prison after being forcibly returned. Another daughter is believed to have been killed. The fate of these two stepdaughters is what made Princess Haya suspicious. She is a beautiful woman and deserves much better.

I heard the story of a beautiful Moroccan woman he married in the 80’s or 90’s who had three children with him- he accused her of stealing from him, drugged her and the children and bulldozed the house with them still inside. They’re under a parking lot now.

I met Princess Latifa, the first daughter of the King of Saudi Arabia in the 1990s, a couple of time when I worked for a famous photographer in Los Angeles. She came in twice. The first time one of her security detail came into my office and asked me if I could get him a glass of water (he was stationed outside), and I said, Yes, and opened the door to the studio, and told him, the water dispenser was right inside the door. He explained that he isn't allowed to be in the same room with the Princess. Oh! I didn't know. So, I got him the water and told him if he needed anything at all, to please come to me and I will make sure he has it.
We hired someone to do her hair and makeup, and she had a handheld mirror and she would look at me through it. When it was time for me to leave, as I had a school course I was taking, she smiled and waved to me through the mirror, and I waved back. She was very pretty. A little on the plump side, but nonetheless she was very pretty. She was sweet, but at the same time, she was like a spoiled child, but never rude. The second time she came for a photo shoot, she brought her two kids. This time, there were security in the studio, even though she was there, I believe it was because they were in charge of making sure the children were safe. Those little boys were adorable, but spoiled rotten, and they were destroying some of the giant rolls of paper that are used as backdrops and on the floor, and no one said anything to them about it. No one said, NO! Not the guards, not their Mother, no one. Little terrors.
After that second photo shoot, Princess Latifa took the hair/makeup women we had hired for her photoshoot. She took her on her emerald green Boeing 747 for a couple of months and traveled far and wide with her. When she returned her to Los Angeles, the makeup woman came to tell us about her trip. The Princess hired her for that entire time, paid her rate for the entire time they were gone! The Princess wanted her to teach her how to do her own makeup, which she did.
Later, I read that she had purchased this historic home in Italy, and had to sign something stating she would leave the home as it is and not make any major changes to alter its appearance or the style, in order to keep its historic value, which she agreed. Years later I tried to see if I could find a picture of her from that photo shoot, but was unable, and then discovered that she had died, but have been unable to find out how. There is a mosque named after her in Riyadh now. It's lovely. I was sad, and posted on a page associated with the mosque, asking if anyone knows how she died, because I had known her and wanted to know, and then I wrote something very kind about her hoping someone would know and tell me. No word.
Latifa bint Fahd Al Saud (Arabic: لطيفة بنت فهد آل سعود; 1959 - December 2013) was a member of the Saudi royal family, House of Saud. She was one of King Fahd's children.[1]
Princess Latifa was the eldest daughter of King Fahd and Al Anoud bint Abdulaziz bin Musaed Al Jiluwi. Her full brothers included Faisal bin Fahd, Mohammed bin Fahd, Sultan bin Fahd, Saud bin Fahd and Khalid bin Fahd.[3] In Riyadh she founded Princess Latifa bint Fahd Center which provides support for patients who are treated at King Fahd Medical City.
In September 2013 Princess Latifa bought a historical Geneva estate from a wealthy family, Nordmann, for $62m.[1] As of 2013 it was the second-highest price on record for an estate in the city.[1][5] Then she settled and lived there[1] until December 2013 when she died at age 54. Funeral ceremony was held for her at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh following the noon prayer.[6]

Look at Princess Diana. Lady Di was of Royal blood and of a prominent and wealthy family. Zero legal rights to her boys- only what the Queen allowed.
