      "While the cause of the fire is still being investigated as we speak, comments on social media indicated that it might have been triggered when the car came into contact with a package that contained highly-flammable chemicals which allegedly dropped from another vehicle in front of the Perodua Alza."

    Ok this time the title more correct, last one not all are BYD BEV, some of the early BYD hybrid car, which is equipped with NMC battery when they burn, they burn violently. Nowadays, most EV is equipped with LFP battery. LFP battery dont burn like NMC. With so many EV cars in China, the percentage of EV that cought fire compared to combustion cars is still very low. Most of China Hybrid vechicle that time comes with NMC Lithium battery compare to most like old toyota hybrid use nickel metal hydride battery. But now i see they ( including Toyota ) also moving to Lithium NMC battery... so beware of those hybird cars... they may catch fire with the 12 volt battery short circuit as many of those car place the 12volt battery next to the Lithium NMC battery

    • @chestercheng75
      @chestercheng75  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is it because of old BYD models burning at the 4 BYD dealership that's reported by in the video?

    • @kckfen
      @kckfen 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you ask me, most of the time is the electirc circuit in the baterry management system that short circuit, that causes fire, not the battery that spontaneous caught fire. Remember the Proton X90 caught fire insident? If is poor design on proton part that allow easily combustible material near a high power cable that generate at lot heat that allow it get burn, in their recall they simply cut away the foam insulator. Same as these case in most electrical system in BEV that caught fire, which also can happen in ICE car with all the electrical cable and elctronic system in the car. As like combustible material once it caught fire it will burn. Just like a petrol tank, when it caught fire it will also burn and explode right? Same as EV battery. Just that NMC battery when they burn the burn very violent... but if it is LFP battery, it is more heat resistant and burn more slowly allow the occupants enough time to escape. There is no car in the market that is not combustible when there is fire.
      One more thing, China Observer is run by Vision Times, Vision Times, is a Falun Gong affiliated Chinese language weekly newspaper. It was founded in 2001 as a website, www.secretchina.com. In 2006, it began publishing weekly print versions in major U.S. cities and Australia. Since it is run by Falun Gong which is mainly anti China Propaganda organisation, i take whatever they publish in a pinch of salt.

    Your source from China Observer is definitely an anti china view as it's a Falun Gong affiliated channel. Furthermore, the content touches only on BYD vehicles in China. Nothing is mentioned about Tesla or other European EV cars. As someone pointed out, fire does break out in combustion engine cars also. Your comment is bias and misleading. Do a proper research and provide a relevant data before commenting.
