Blue and black spacemen came out in ‘84. This set is from ‘87, the last year of classic space. The blue spaceman first appeared in the Intergalactic Command Base and the Space Dart both from ‘84. Strangely he also lasted into 1988 along with the first wave of Futuron sets, none of his classic space companions did.
Nice! I had this when I was a kid. Together with the Futuron monorail. The strange thing is that I remember owning and playing with them. But I don't remember getting them like you do with your own sets.
Oh ship! What a great looking set! To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen this set. The classic LEGO Space figures are some of my favorites. Very charming. :) Thanks for the video
Yeah, this is the point in history when the so-called 'Classic Space' was transforming into 'Futuron', ... kind of. :) Hence the main structure is mostly white and not mostly blue.
It’s a very nice set and it’s nice to see it built. It’s one of the literally hundreds of sets I’ve purchased or pieced together over the years with the intention of creating some sort of scene, but have ultimately never built. It will happen some day!
There was alot going on in this set...slso is that studs not on top construction it woulf be like 20 - 25 years until Lego deciced to go all out with that building style again. Who knew?
The lunar plate is by far my favourite base plate, lego needs to bring it back. They could do different colours for planets
I would love that so much too! 🥹
Great vid and set. White lego pieces look mint in this one. Impressive considering the release date.⭐️
Yesss! It’s in nice shape for sure but I do think the camera under spotlights makes it look even better lol
A fantastic set😊
Love it. Absolutely love it!!!
Yesss! Me too!
I had this set when it was new. This is also one of the first to have blue space men, only red & white in the first year or two.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing ! 👍
Thanks for watching! 😊
This already lends itself to the futuron style. If it wasnt for the mini figs i would already guess it was ❤
It does look really good with futuron sets!

This set looks amazing. I wish I had one.
Honestly they could sell these base plates again as stand alone. I think kids would also like them.
Agreed! There are so many baseplates I wish they would bring back!
