Okay so hear me out. Yena, copying Three Blind Mice once to make a token three blind mice. 2nd or 3rd trigger of the original copies the token Three Blind Mice which is then copied by the first token 3 blind mice giving you a total of 4. And thus continues the saga of infinite three blind mice.
This is random.. but. Gumdrop poisoner has been really fun with recursion effects. Swing in with it, trade with a weaker creature. Cast return triumphant and take out another one. I trophied cause of this card
Great to always see your games kenji, I know these were some rough ones but you did great! all these comments complaining about the arena shuffler just needs to learn your patience.
37:58 I think the move here is to attack with one creature and lightblades your own creature. You’ll draw 2 because of season of growth. Your out would be your board wipe.
I drafted like about 4-5 times on Arena and except one draft, where I made it to 5 wins, I ALWAYS - without exception - lost bc I did either draw too little or too many lands. It's like: I always end up having both extreme ends and not the "normal" draw. Even in reality, when I draft with friends, I do struggle with land issues in 40-50% of the games (either I draw like 6-7 lands after another or I draw like 2 lands and not more)... and yes :D I do shuffle.. I even go through the deck and check, if it is shuffled sufficiently. It is like Magic does not want me to play, which is hard, bc I love Magic 😅
I had close to this deck as my first trophy. Had the expel the interlopers, 2 syr armont, 2 tanglespan lookout, and 2 tuinvale guide as the best cards in the deck.
I'm sure it's not statistically accurate, but I believe when I don't run 17 lands the shuffler gers completely out of wack. 17 lands I flood 2/7 but usually have decent hands. Anything else and I get constant color issues and mana screw.
Look i have never once said "ohhh it's rigged" about anything and have actively made fun of people that say that. But watching WoE and playing WoE really feels like the land distribution is messed up somehow in this format.
10:50 I believe you’re mistaken about Paralel Lives not working with roles. It creates a second role that isn’t attached to anything. When an aura enters the battlefield that way, you choose what it enchants. Additionally, since you’re choosing instead of targeting, it also means that you could use the duplicated token to enchant a normally untargetable creature, such as one with shroud or an opponent’s creature that has hexproof.
Unfortunately you are wrong. Parallel lives (and all the other doubling effects) only replace the quantities of tokens being created. They don't create additional independent ones. So it only affects how many tokens will be created while the rest of the text is done as is. So if you are to create a roled attached to a creature, you will instead create two roles attached to that creature. It is relevant for all the enchantment dies effects in the format but its not as broken as to spread roles all around
You need to cast, so it doesnt work with things that give roles on ETB, but it does work with things like betroth the beast that cast as an adventure to put the role attached to target creature.
9:23 - I'm bit disappointed about passing the Ramper Famliar .. It's a good enough ramp creature and has fun and tricky end game utility.. And you could block with it and return it to hand (costing some and a card but if you have lands to spare could help..) And if you have really a lot of mana .. you could actually use the adventure - and after that cast it again as a creature.. .. and then return it again to hand and cast the adventure again - untill you mill yourself to oblivion.. :P
I'm not saying it would have been a good fit for this deck though -- but I don't think it's easy to have too much ramp - and there were "only" two fauns at that point. Cookie was - maybe better.. But "for fun and gems" the familiar would have been nice.. And in the end -- 3 fauns were not enough ... I kind of think that if you're playing green you should take and use all the ramping that's available..
Can't think of a solve for paper magic, but in MTGA the program should just increasingly move to a normal land distribution for all unknown cards with each successive draw. It wouldn't be that hard to program...
At 8:00, Interlopers instead of the Lookout was the worst pick there that ruined the draft, imho. You didn't play the wrath effect a single time and the Lookout was the best possible card for your archetype that would of drawn you multiple cards during the draft especially in the game were you lost with Interlopers in hand.
Funny talking about cards that immediately die. I initially thought scream puff was so good but every time I play it and it's immediate removed it feels bad. Those format seems to want to go wide and double spell every turn with low cost spells.
Game 3 Hail Mary: Attack with both Fauns, target one of them with your own Kellan's LIghtblades, draw 2 off the Seasons of Growth. Hope to hit Expel the Interlopers with exactly 5 mana left?
To be honest, watching all of Nummy's videos drafting in this set makes me feel more and more vindicated in quitting Arena after what happened with my shuffler experience in WOE sealed... (I still play plenty of paper magic, just not Arena)
@@josephbilling3886playing irl for the first time in awhile was such a breathe of fresh air. Did have some shitty land situations but nothing like arena
This video is why mtg needs to modify how they design lands and how the lands are balanced in the game. mana screw game 1, mana flood game 2, color screw game 3......
I have found that this has been the case more than it has been before. If you are not drawing lands; you will continue not drawing lands. If you are drawing too many lands you will continue to draw lands. If you are drawing a nice balance you will continue to draw a nice balance. I am watching these games and am fairly accurately predicting if a land will or not be drawn based on past draws.
That deck was so cool and open! So sad it didn't get more wins :(
Imagine if he had taken that first tough cookie! 3 would have been sick!

Gomletx tried that but didn’t quite get there.
Currently Tamiyo and Calix are the standard cards using TBM best. I’ve tried Yena, she’s just not working out.
I've been toying around with a Yenna Sagas build
Was able to pull this off in limited! Went 1-3 haha

Season of Growth probably shifted 20 cards by itself. An absolute machine
Some of those flashback cards are really super strong and usually fairly cheap.
Nummys thumbnails are my favorite part of this format, by far.

@@almogdovAh, good to know. Guess I was mistaken.
Since this last update Ive had way more mana issues than Ive ever had playing on arena, I wonder if they tinkered with the shuffler for best of one.
no

Ah, the irony of drawing utopia sprawl when you are stuck on land without correct mana…

8/8 land split. You had fauns for extra green?
First draft I had a golgari deck with Garruks uprising and Night of Sweets Revenge. With uber food i over ran a few Opponents. Twas fun
