As a former soundman in the 70's & 80's. This brings back great memories of when Roots Music was spiritually uplifting. Inspired I tried to join in with the skanking, but as they say "The mind is forever young, but alas the body not!" 🙂
Umm btw, the live session at beginning is Coxsone playing and not shaka. Shaka part is later on at new cross center and he played rentman dubplate. Bad days is from a completely different session.
@@dia.6213 that shit was brutal from time :D i think i was thinking the same thing after hunting for the origin of the digital stepper sound, dating it back to about 1989 maybe earlier.
AklamHall for sure shaka at his best rip king knockee Blessed be all true followers from the 70s been following knocke before he had his syndums with his original preamp with the pice of board on tip wich Eddie regal used in his record shop in hackney
When they pan through the hall, and you see the breddin on the pre-amp, that is Jah Shaka himself. I don't know if footage from other films have been spliced together. But, I know Shaka when I see him. Peace.
@@lucidrain9469 At the start I'm sure that was Blacker Dread comming towards the camera and a lot of Coxone man like Tenna Fly, looks like a mixture of both sounds.

@@chrisjames8524 They spliced two dances together and added the Shaka tape on it. When I looked again, you can see Festus in the first clip.
Shaka no1 sound always......
Those were the days when my reputation was really high known as the heavy heavy skanker. These tracks utilise my skanking

Boy that is sick, that's what shaka was about.
The movie extract is used in a doc called “Babylon” released in 1978 for the German tv but without Shaka and without the dub sound heard in this clip
