all the stage videos absolutely murdered me. like, SME, babes, who decided to put Jeno, Kai, Karina, and Seulgi together? give them a raise, and a bonus, and a paid vacation to the DR. And all of RV + AE, that was just the cutest thing I've seen this year. And then there's the 7th Sense stage, and Mark's STILL killing it like the absolute king he is, it's been almost 7 years and boy's been killing it the whole time. Taeyong and Ten sound just amazing on this stage. overall I was just dying the whole time like babes wtf why did you all have to go so hard?

short answer to the question at the end - it’s because SM founded the trainee and kpop system that we know today. they did the training first and have been honing it since, so all their trainees go through a lot :0
a lot of sm idols join the company through street casting, so for visuals, and i feel that's one reason their talent often gets disregarded. people assume they're more than their looks and their talents and skills are somehow being faked. but, sm literally created kpop as we know it today. their trainee system is next-level. while they might disregard their artists' mental or physical health through the intense training/schedules, they know how to create/find and hone that talent. taeyong, for example, joined sm through street-casting, and didn't even know that he was joining an idol agency. he had no experience in dancing, rapping, etc. in fact, his dance trainer even told him he'd fail. but, look at him now! he's one of the best dancers and performers in the industry, a great rapper, and a great producer and composer with a true love and passion for music.
so true. their visuals are bonus, it's one of the reason why i started stanning them but when you get to know them, they're hella talented. people need to take extra effort sometimes.
