That hurry to leave the plane is just something else. Nigerians barely do it when they fly into another country, but once the plane touches down in Lagos, over 50% of the passengers will jump up and start grabbing their bags as if they must first catch the taxi outside before anyone else. Our blood too hot.
Good you gave yourself a chance to reorient your mind about Nigeria. But there are still more states you can explore. We don't have to look American to be organized. Naija is a continent within a continent o and Eko/Lagos is a country within Nigeria 😂 Enjoy your experience
As someone from Africa (Zambia) who spent over 5 years in Malaysia, i relate to this video so much in the context of both worlds. Thanks Elly for an honest and amazing video about our sister country (Nigeria)
I wouldn’t have known you are in Nigeria until NEPA took light. But i used to hear that in Africa people live inside Bushes. 😅😂. Thanks for making this video. I love the part she said this look exactly like an American Mall.
Welcome to Nigeria. We pray that things get better. I have actually been in the U.K. for over 20 years now and planning to come back to Nigeria in 2024 / 2025 to start creating businesses and charities to help the young people. I currently investing around £2.5million over there to help support the projects. 🤦🏾♂️😀
Lovely video Elly, i wish you can visit Abuja, Nigeria 🇳🇬 so that you can see Africa's first planned city. And so that we can welcome you in the capital city. Shout out to your dad, he is just so funny. 😊
oboy Nigeria has gotten better though. 😂 I remember when I was leaving the country in 2016, there wasn't even working air condition at the airport gates. I was sweating like pocahontas. 😅
I wish foreigners would visit other parts of Nigeria like Abuja, Kaduna, Ogun, Port Harcourt, and maybe Akwa Ibom. There's so much more to explore in Nigeria. More quieter cities that offer a chance to try different things that are not in Lagos.
It sounds like the nigeria immigration officer in question was only joking with your dad. I think nigeria Immigration officer feels more comfortable with Nigerians when returns back to Nigeria to have plentiful conversation not necessarily with foreign nationals visiting Nigeria.
I am sure the enronment you are is either Surulere or Ikeja. That's area for average income earners. Not too poor and not too rich. Welcome to Nigeria. When you get to the other side Lagos you are going, you will be more confused if the place is within the country or another country. Lagos Island of Ikoyi, Lekkis, VI, etc are advanced part of Lagos.
That’s not a bribe technically, it’s very common for workers of a place you visit to ask for ‘small something’. It’s like a tip relative to the one in the American culture. A bribe is more like you need to get or do something but they’re impeding on your right to do it because of the power they have and using means such as bribes to get you to suck up to them. Of course the case changes when you do give them what they want, they end up sucking up to you instead.
please better stay at victoria island hotels or ikopyi finally Lekki they have luxury hotel. you better stay at Island am sure u experience this light issue at mainland

Your homie needs to get a generator. Folks in Nigeria don’t really rely on government to supply power.
Solar is much quieter and less carbon monoxide

Electricity is generally better on the mainland than it is on the island. Except you are living in serviced apartments/estate
The electricity problem is terrible in Ikoyi. The power goes off for days at a time.
@@Bio54633 normally EKO DISCO is a very useless company. While Ikeja electric which serves the mainland is far better and more professional.
