Yeah alot sugar is made from beets with a large amount of them being grown in the US states of Minnesota. also Anthony here in the US state iowa near me there is a plant that takes sugar beets and makes packaged sugar.
I think this song, "The Lady in Red", is probably among the catchiest songs I have ever heard in the entire series of Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes. I mean, I can thank Mort Dixon and Allie Wrubel for it, though I really like a lot of the arrangements/renditions from the cartoon series by Carl W. Stalling, (including his arrangement of the song that appeared in "Toy Town Hall") they go very well together. It kinda makes me want to put together some of the many different arrangements of the song, perhaps setting the whole mashup to the visuals from the 1935 short, which I can say is one of the best points where you can see Friz Freleng developing his famous mastery of musical timing.
Like Manny said, musicians trying to get into different careers is always quite admirable. Makes me think of Raymond Scott, who not only was a music composer/piano player, but also an engineer, who pioneered synthesized music.
12:01 Anthony the cake cup that the cockroach puts down as a "tablecloth" is a paper liner you put in a muffin tin when your bakimg cupcakes so they don't stick to the tin
NGL, when you mentioned this is only available on the Joe's Apartment Blu-ray at 0:33, it kinda had me dying because our of all things why this movie? 😂
@AnthonysAnimationTalk I understand now, but I thought this would be in the collector's choice, but nope... Still funny, though... (never watched the movie)

The lady in red is also a reference to the final showdown between the FBI and the notorious bank robber, John Dillinger, in 1934.
