    Hello, new & continued supporters! Welcome, & welcome back, I appreciate each & every one of you!
    I had plans on making a video like this a while back, but never got around to doing so, until someone asked if the piquin pepper plants I grew were from a company that sells their dried peppers at our local grocery store.
    So, was I able to successfully grow a true piquin pepper plant, using the seeds from store bought dried peppers, or would it be a fail? Watch to find out if I'd have any luck, & check out the surprise ending that I had to just add to my already finished video.
    Hope you all enjoy this, & thanks for watching!

    I had that same brand in my refrigerator and sprinkled them in some soil...a week later they all sprouted..perhaps keeping them in the fridge before germination helped out..

    Hi Dulce, thanks for posting this video. I absolutely love to make a salsa with Piquins and Chiltepines. Thanks to your video I have a dozen Piquin plants growing in my garden and literally dozens of Chiltepin pepper seedlings getting ready to go outside. I have you and your inspiring videos to thank. Hopefully I never have to buy them again... lol they are super pricey.

    Can you please help me? I live in Dallas and have a Piquin plant that is beautiful and growing. However, this is the third year with no flowers/peppers. What can I do?

    • @CandysGarden
      @CandysGarden  หลายเดือนก่อน

      OMGoodness, so sorry you're having problems🙏💯 First, thanks for taking the time to visit & comment, it does mean a lot. No flowers definitely means no peppers. Have you tried to prune it? I would prune it back some to allow new growth. I hardly feed mine, so I couldn't be specific on that, but it could help. How old is your plant? Has it fruited before? This is my only opinions, & honestly think pruning may help out. Please give me an update🙏❤️

    • @dallasnola
      @dallasnola หลายเดือนก่อน

      The plant (potted)is three years old. I threw some peppers in a pot with soil and it grew. It has never fruited. It has lots of new growth and is about 3' currently. It has grown about a foot since spring, but I will prune it back this afternoon. This plant has turned into a mission for me. I even move it inside during the winter to avoid it getting burned from the cold.

    • @dallasnola
      @dallasnola หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I did not have the chance to prune my plant as you suggested, but in 3 days my plant is now full of flowers. I will keep you posted.

      @@chiltepindmonteymetaldetec4891 oh, well, these are supposedly the TRUE piquin... I feel they are both of the same family, one is just slightly more "mild," or that's what google says... I got some "piquin" from a flea market, I will call them piquin cause that's what they said they were... They are the longer ones, so I am going to try to grow some & share it with everyone
