I can't believe how long it's been since I've seen the inside of the Detroit-Windsor tunnel. It used to be our defacto way of driving from Sarnia to Windsor to visit family when I was a kid. We almost never took the bridge. I think I only crossed it once or twice in my whole life. Ever since I was in my 20s we would just take the Canadian way via Chatham and Highway 401. Great channel as well, I miss seeing Detroit's freeways.
The border between Detroit and Windsor is the busiest part of the Canada-US border. There are two roads consisting the Ambassador Bridge and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel crossing Detroit River and one railway tunnel under Detroit River. Passports are required and of course, any violation of border crossing results those people detained from that neighboring country.
For segment 2, probably around late Spring of 2021. Still some punch list items to finish and of course the two diverging diamond intersections at 14 Mile and Big Beaver Road. Segment 3 is projected to finish in Fall of 2023 according to the Modernize I-75 website.

Makes me miss the good old days when crossing the border was a non-issue.
