I almost never use the powerhead on the hard floors. Way too clumsy to fit tight spaces and performance of the straight suction nozzle is just like in this video. Also having static brushes in the nozzle helps loosen stuck dirt. Great video!
I love that floor tool too! Have you considered getting the straight suction carpet tool for the rainbow? I got mine on Ebay and vacumed the house with it today. The water was as disgusting as ever, though it did have less sand than other times.
I meant, more or less, for the sake of science. It is a very different vacuuming experience. The CFM density should be much higher that a standard power nozzle.

Nicholas Williams ah, no. For carpet, especially pile carpet, a power nozzle performs the best by far.
