Texas has been called a land of extremes . Extremely dry or wet , cold or hot . In my soon to be 75 years here I know it to be true . When I was a small boy in this same area of central Texas the drought was so bad in the early 50's the clay ground was a spider web of cracks an inch and more wide . Dust storms were frequent and could be seen on the horizon hours before its arrival . Texas and Texans recovered and will again . Take heart ,some day the Llano will again run clear and bubble its way through the countryside . I may see you there angling the fly in the clear pools , as I have done in the past . I too am sorry for this temporary sadness . Best regards to you and yours .
Love all your videos but this one hurts. In my fourteen years in Austin, the Llano was my refuge from stress and a place where my peace was restored. So sad to see the upper Llano in this type of shape. Lots of great memories out by Junction with my son. Very sad to see the devastating effects of this drought.
I can't believe how low the water has gotten in central texas this summer. I took a trip to my neighborhood creek last week and had to hike a good mile or two to find water that was holding fish. There were sections where the water is usually 5 or 6 ft deep that were bone dry!
Thanks Bill!
Sad to see the dry fishin hole!😮

Sickening, isn't it. The Guadalupe above Canyon Lake looks like a cobblestone road. We need rain and a lot of it.
